I have had Colin assist me in the past, and each time he had demonstrated a high degree of knowledge and has always provided outstanding service. Well.....Sorry i have to amend this review.... When i took my computer home and fired it up...I saw…read morewhere the pictures had been put back in and I tried to open them and it said I didn't have the program to do that. Well i didn't need to get to them...so i didn't worry. When I tried a few weeks later..I couldn't get any to open. I tried to contact him several times and received no response. I decided to take it to another shop to see if they could retrieve any of the data from the disc hard drive and all the files were corrupted and didn't contain enough data to retrieve. They also pointed out that the SSD wasn't even being used...the operating system was booting from the disc hard drive not the Solid State Drive. They advised that they would have transfered the operating system to the SSD and partitioned off the bad start-up sequence on the disc hard drive...that way all of my data would have been saved ! When he installed my SSD to replace the disc hard drive that was operating the system he didn't transfer the start-up or operation system to the SSD. So basically.... he completely wiped my disc hard drive and all of my data with it when it could have been easily saved by a knowledgeable tech. Years of pictures...gone....What a waste!

I needed a WiFi thermostat installed and Hello Tech sent an IT person who didn't know the product…read morewell enough to know it needed a specific connection - a C-Wire. Please note- this tech was punctual and personable and knows computers very well and was able to set up my home alarm system - but not thermostats. This caused my house to heat up to 92 degrees one day while I was at work - when you selected "cool", heat would come on. The most upsetting part of this experience is that I begged them to send someone else and they refused and sent the same tech. After spending two hours on the phone with India, he was unable to get this new thermostat to work and thankfully he was at least able to connect my old thermostat until I figured out my next move. I called an AC guy who showed up within a few hours and got everything working perfectly in no time. What's really upsetting is when I asked for my money back, Hello Tech instead reimbursed me for the AC guy's work which was $20 less than their charge. How does this make any sense? You sent someone who couldn't complete the work, shouldn't you not charge at all? I will never use Hello Tech again nor will I recommend them.
