Otherside Market & Deli - Bull rider

I would recommend calling ahead otherwise there might be a bit of a wait (~20-30ins). The inside is a typically mini mart with some options of snacks, ice cream, drinks, etc. There are some chairs and tables outside but I would recommend go-to if you can or if you have a larger group. I'll definitelybe back sometime to try out more sandwiches!

I went with the hot sandwich category, and chose the bull rider - which came with roast beef, cheese, and onions, and a dipping cup of au jus. This sandwich was pretty fantastic, and it starts with the bread. This bread is just great. The outside has a perfect lightly-hard texture that would provide some resistance of you were knocking on it, creating just enough of a crispiness felt across every bite. The inside is so damn soft; it feels like the air bubbles take over and make it special. Both sides are well-touched up with aioli - just the right amount to add moisture but not enough that it overpowers the flavor. The fillings were enjoyable as well. I thought the roast beef was solid; relatively standard but with a good amount of nicely browned edges. The pepper jack cheese melted perfectly and was hot and stretchy throughout. And the peppers and onions added that acidity and sweetness that came together just to complete everything. If I have one minor thing - the au jus felt pretty bland, kind of lacking in salt. I preferred to eat it without this cup. For just around $15, this sandwich is quite large. Very nice value on what you get. Overall, this is absolutely a place I'd come back to often to get different meats on the same bread. 8.75/10

So, for his memorial, my hubs and I went to order two fresh orchid leis for his mom and his widow. It was easy as pie. One of the friendly staff members showed us all the different leis they had in their refrigerator. We chose the two we wanted and gave them the date we would pick up (they recommended the day before the memorial). We paid at the time of ordering. The day we picked up, I just gave them my name and they brought the leis out in plastic takeout boxes for me. I had my receipt just in case, but I didn't need it. The leis were beautiful. It's a great little shop full of fun gifts, treats, and aloha shirts. If I ever need some more leis or Hawaii-themed gifts, I will definitely come back. Mahalo, Hawaii General Store!

Many of these items are similar to my own culture and with a Hawaiian twist. I bought some fun items here and this is a great place to buy creative gifts. Ill definitely come back when in Seattle! Three generations of the DeLaurenti family oversaw it until 2001 when three local Seattleites took over the reins for the past 25 years to date, Pat McCarthy, Matt Snyder, and Nate Plutko. I'm a Washingtonian since 1973 and have enjoyed seeing this at the corner of 1st and Pike. Numerous visits, but my most recent detour was on 2/16/26. I love gawking at the various sundries and specialty items available especially the chocolates, spices, sauces, olive oils, pasta, ad naseum. Just wander along each aisle, you'll understand and be inspired. Also, what an expansive meat and cheese case with knowledgeable staff for your charcuterie needs! Upstairs you can find a decent selection of wine and spirits and an apertivo spot to have a glass and a bite. I was full from my pasta bowl at nearby Pasta Casalinga, but was eyeing the charcuterie cone. Imagine tasty nibbles to snack on while wandering the rest of the market. Back on the main floor towards 1st Avenue, there's a busy espresso bar and where one can get an Italian panini or pizza slices to go. Highly recommended while at Pike Place Market. Buon Appetito!

Wish I tried some of their food but was a great experience!

The biggest store is Pete's, which is located next to Lake Union. It is a few blocks west of Eastlake Avenue. Just walk down to the end of East Lynn Street and you will find it. The selection at Pete's is that of a grocery store. Though I wouldn't consider it a supermarket since they don't have fresh meat items though they do have produce. Prices are on the higher side, but I would consider the product selection to be somewhat upscale. Not just mainstream brands. You can find some specialty items sprinkled around the store. The store has a good wine section, with one aisle devoted to it. There is also a deli in the back. They have a selection of prepared deli sandwiches available on weekdays. The quality is decent, but they are a bit pricey. Each portion is the size of a half sandwich. Quality wise, I do prefer the sandwiches at the newly opened Otherside Market nearby, which are made to order. But a sandwich here would do in a pinch if I am looking for a quick bite. Overall, I think this store is alright. It has a better selection than the mini marts in the neighborhood. But you will find cheaper groceries by shopping at a large grocery like QFC or Safeway instead. It does in a pinch though if you need a random item and live in the area.
