This review is specically for Dr. Williams. I saw her for a recent eye infection (yuck) and it was one of those nasty ones that meant I had to see her daily for almost a week. The first time she walked into the room, I immediately felt at ease. She's confident and has great bedside manner while also being extremely technically competent. Sadly, most doctors are great at either the interpersonal relationships or technical proficiency but not both. As my mother would say, "she's a pleasure and a treasure." Although McLean is about 30 minutes farther than their Arlington office, I'll be going back to this office just for her if the need ever arises. read more

I was diagnosed with keratoconus when I was 14 and from then on it has just been a real pain. After learning glasses would not offer enough correction to my vision I went through both RGPs and piggy-backing. RGPs were uncomfortable and painful and small enough where I would lose the lenses. Piggy-backing provided some relief but still caused a level of pain and discomfort after a few hours of wear. I was searching for doctors that specifically had experience in treating Keratoconus when I found See Clearly Vision. My first visit was a little inundating, wherein it was stressed I was getting scleral lenses with little more than an introduction. I felt as I was being hard-sold so I went home without finishing the routine testing and did my own research. After being satisfied with what I found I returned to Dr. Wisecarver and went through a few months of lens fitting with these new lenses that were larger than my RGPs. Both Dr. Wisecarver and her staff are awesome, super-friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable to say the least. I could not be happier with these lenses as they both offer me 20/20 vision and hours of comfortable wear, two things I had not experienced in my entire life since keratoconus. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wisecarver and See Clearly Vision. I will be coming here for years. read more

Update: so annoyed. They faxed it to the wrong cvs. Never going back to their office. Doctors are great but staff could use some tips. My new patient visit was 1.5 hours long. Time flew by so waiting wasn't too much of an issue for me. Doctor Glen was great...however there might have been some miscommunication between the medical assistant and the doctor. I had to remind the doctor of the things I discussed with the medical assistant. I shouldn't have to express my concerns twice! Anyway visit went well... Doctor prescribed me several prescriptions and mentioned the front staff would give them to me! At check out I completely forgot to get the prescriptions and the staff didn't even mention it!! I'm so Upset because it's already the weekend but I'm going to call the doctor on call because I cannot wait until Monday for the prescriptions. I've been going here for about 2 years now, and the staff has always been so kind, respectful and knowledgable. My dry eyes had been bothering me for as long as I can remember, but they worked with me to choose the appropriate treatment options to alleviate it. I was recently diagnosed with corneal dystorphy. It has changed my life: there's not a regimen of eye drops, more hydration, supplements & super dark sunglasses to adjust to. I went to an opthamologist - NOT See Clearly Vision - whose office was not great: their staff pushed a supplement that I asked if I could get elsewhere (they said no, turns out that wasn't true), mis-billed me lagged on being able to gt me a needed prescripton & checked the pressure of my traumatized eyes by striking them with a tiny hammer (!). So to find Dr. Hoang at See Clearly Vision was a huge relief. The office itself is great: the staff is patient & friendly, & Sam the nurse - or maybe he's a PA? - has bright spirits that can bring a smile to your face, even when you are in pain. Dr. Hoang himself is a really good doctor. By this I mean: he's smart, he's efficient, he has patience with his patients, & he has very skilled hands. He was able to drop a bandage lens on my eye when it was badly inflamed without causing me any additional distress. His instructions on helping me adjust to the new reality of my eyes has been informative & easy to understand. See Clearly Vision was able to get me in when I had an emergency situation, even though it meant some of the office staff stayed late. Their warmth & overall caring attitude have made me dread the business of going to a doctor's office a lot less. I highly recommend them. read more

Scheduled an appointment for an eye surgery and the appointment date was always getting rescheduled to either a later time or earlier time. When the stopped rescheduling We went to the surgical center to finally get the surgery done. Apparently, Dr. McCabe has quit the surgical center out of the blue and the front office said it got canceled when we never received it. Im not sure what kind of personal business she has but I'm hoping for a better doctor next time so they don't waste peoples time. read more

I have never written a negative review of a medical establishment before until now. After five years with the excellent Dr. Wong and Dr. Hoang who are no longer there, my experience this month with everyone including the MD, the OD for refraction, the untrained or incompetent person scheduling appointments over the phone, the front desk staff and the lack of well marked and enforced social distancing outside and in and the Customer Service person who called me the next day all made this an incredibly horrible experience. For example, what I correctly thought was the wrong secondary glasses prescription for my needs was rudely dismissed even though I asked about it several times. I need to go somewhere else now and get the correct one. Thankfully, Northern Virginia has numerous excellent eye care professionals. read more

My mother expressed her discomfort with dryness and difficulty with near sightedness and the staff addressed these concerns in a very engaged and professional manner. See Clearly Vision SAVED my Thanksgiving!!! I have chronic dry eyes due to ocular rosacea and do all I can to protect them while I sleep (wear nighttime goggles, ointment, usually sleep with a humidifier), but last night, unfortunately, with the winter weather and general dryness in my body, it just wasn't enough. I woke up with a corneal abrasion in my right eye. In addition to being painful, I just couldn't see out of that eye - for all of the blinking and watering my eye was doing to compensate for the little tear on my cornea. It was sensitive and a bit scary. I didn't know exactly what was wrong, that it was a tear, but I knew something was wrong, and it couldn't wait to be looked at later. Same day appointments the day before Thanksgiving? I called, and See Clearly Vision fit me right into the schedule for today. Now I know what's wrong. I have a patch (temporary contact) on my eye to help it heal. I can see out of it again. And I just feel better because the frightening part is over, and I know, no matter what happens to my dry eyes and that rollercoaster that goes along with them, See Clearly Vision has my back. Other reviews here mention how horrid the front office staff is. I concur. I called up the front office to make a new appointment - twice. The first two times, they hung up on me without a greeting; just pickup the phone and quickly hang up a half second later to stop the ringing. By this time, I thought I would keep on calling just to see how many times they would hang up on me. I did get an answer a third time. So the receptionist answered, I said I wanted to schedule an appointment, and she asked what insurance company. I said Tricare, and she said they don't accept tricare. I got this location's number and address from Tricare's own website, and Tricare's website says that See Clearly Vision is an in-network provider. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she said that clearly I am wrong. So, there you have it. Unfortunately, I cannot comment about the doctors because I won't be seeing the doctors at this location. My business isn't wanted here. read more

Be aware that when you make an appointment they do not tell you that you have been scheduled in a different office location. They said that they did, but I am sure they did not. I tried to change it to the location that is was close to me, and they are charging me $25 fee for not canceling 24hrs in advance. I noticed the location because I happen to look in my email when I was ready to go for the appointment. I was not able to make the appointment because my location is very far away from that office they scheduled me for, however they are still charging me the $25 fee. Please note, all the texts they sent patients for confirmation, do not specify the location they have scheduled you for. read more

Dr.Rajpal, who has done eye surgery for me in the past, is very knowledgeable, takes his time and explains everything, including options, if any, for treatment. Moreover, incredibly professional and careful preliminary evaluation/tests done by Anna. She took her time, explained everything. Front desk staff is so pleasant and accommodating, almost anticipating questions and concerns with insurance, forms, etc. When called back to ask for additional help with prescriptions, Lily was patient and had all the answers. One of the best choices I have ever made is going to See Clearly. I have been treated by Dr. Wisecarver for a couple of years for keratoconus. I still remember the first day I went into See Clearly for the initial consultation and Dr. Wisecarver happliy said "I can help you". I believed her and have been treated by her ever since. She is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I have a lot of questions and she always spends time with me to answer them all. The staff there is great too. Being new to the area, I got lucky and found this place. There are a lot of positives and only ONE negative that prevented me from giving 5 stars. I made two appointments, one for me and one for my husband. It's very difficult for my husband to take off from work and that is why I scheduled the appointments on a Federal Holiday. Well, seems that the person who fits you and helps you pick out the frames had taken off early and there was NO ONE to fill in for her. That means that he has make another appointment, take off from work, and return. This is unacceptable. All businesses need a back up person. That's the main reason he went there.....to pick out new frames and get fitted. At least they gave him a prescription so he can go elsewhere to pick out frames. read more

2 days ago I took anti inflammatory medication for my swollen knee. 2 days after I woke up and jumped in shock when I saw Red eye. It was so red I freaked out. It exactly in my left eye where the surgery was done and I see the edge of the lens. In bright light I see the edge more. It could be reaction to the medication but the doctor's office nurse said it should not cause redness like that in the eye. Even if it is reaction why the hell it effected the eye after almost 3 and half months of the surgery? I called See clearly and they offered some Optometrist would see me NOT the surgeon. My vision is not effected and I have bit of discomfort so I decided not to see the doctor. Now I am very clear he messed up my eye badly. Hope it wont go worse. I recently got LASIK surgery done from Dr. Rajpal. The entire experience was fantastic. I met with Dr. Rajpal the day before the surgery, and he explained everything in detail, and what I could expect from the surgery. On the day of the surgery, the surgical staff was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. I was in and out in about two hours and the surgery went flawlessly. The recovery is going exactly as explained by Dr. Rajpal, and I have no regrets. I would definitely recommend my family and friends to receive LASIK from Dr. Rajpal. read more

Came here for an evaluation of my husbands keratoconus. We saw Dr Rajpal who was dismissive and rude when asked any questions about cross linking. When I asked him about success rates he wouldn't answer and got agitated that we would even ask about that. We were then abruptly sent to someone who would give us a payment plan for the cross linking, which we were told could run anywhere from $7k-14k, even with insurance coverage. We were also told our insurance likely wouldn't cover it and after 3 months of working with this woman we got 2 denial letters for coverage of the procedure. We decided to go to Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins for a second opinion and they recommended cross linking as well with a more reasonable care plan and better explanation of why. The cost for the EXACT same procedure was $3500 without insurance and $0 with insurance coverage, which we got without difficulty after 1 week, versus the $7k-14k. Thank God we got a second opinion or we would have taken out a medical loan we didn't need to cover a grossly over charged procedure somewhere else. I even called 3 other practice who do the cross linking to be sure and all of them quoted me around $3500 max cost without any insurance coverage. read more

Approximately two years ago I underwent LASIK eye surgery at See Clearly Vision. From the moment I entered the office, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, along with the cleanliness and sophistication of the facilities. Dr. Rajpal performed my surgery, and he was fantastic. Though I was a bit nervous about the surgery going into it, Dr. Rajpal made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. He clearly explained the entire procedure to me, and broke down the timetable for recovery. The surgery was extremely quick and painless. Afterwards Dr. Rajpal provided me with a "recovery kit," which included sunglasses (for the afternoon), eye drops, and other items to make the first evening after surgery much easier. He even gave me extra samples of eye drops to ensure that I wouldn't run out any time soon. The recovery timeline that Dr. Rajpal explained to me was 100% accurate, and now my vision is in fact better than 20/20. The entire staff is GREAT! I have been going here for over 5 years. Dr. Wisecarver is fantastic. Having keratoconus limits my choice of eye doctors within the DC Metro area significantly. However, the knowledgeable staff here are always on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to treating specialty eye conditions. They are very friendly and proactive when it comes to treating my eyes. Dr. Dawn Williams by Tysons corner is excellent. I was a little hesitant to make an appointment with her because I could not find any online reviews. I was so impressed with the service I received. My eyes had to be dilated so that I could not accommodate during my exam (as I had been doing at work). Because of this, I was having trouble identifying which lenses helped me best. Dr. Williams stayed after work, after the office was closed so that I could come back after work and try on lenses to be sure my prescription was the right fit for me. I was so impressed by this. I had PRK corrective vision eye surgery (like lasik, but different) with Dr. Hoang back in September 2016. I have been to the See Clearly Vision office about 6 times total, and every. Single. Time. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and wonderful to work with! Every time I walked into that office, I could tell that the team working there generally gets along very well and I always had a 5 star experience there each and every visit. Nobody was ever once even slightly rude to me. The staff there made me feel so comfortable. I've only ever written one YELP review before, and I was always so impressed with this business that I want to at least thank them in some sort of way! I remember one time I was there in the waiting room and someone left their young children (2 kids no older than a 2 year old and 4 year old) out in the front of the office, and one of the receptionists there actually took the responsibility to comfort one of the children when he began crying. It is NOT her job to babysit, yet she was so kind and caring when she decided to take on that role. Also, every time I went there I never really had to wait for too long. If I was on time to my appointment, I never had to wait more than 5 minutes. When I was late (only like twice), I was still seen very promptly. Ever since the first time I walked in there, even from the very first smile from Eric which greeted me at the front desk WHEN I WAS LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT (because of traffic, I had called to let them know and all was well!), Eric definitely made me feel at ease when I was nervous about being late. He was at the front desk almost every time I visited See Clearly and he was always above and beyond friendly in such a great way! Even after my surgery, he told me that he tells everyone who gets vision correction surgery to go see the Cherry Blossoms in DC. He was so right about how incredible that sight is! Everything in my world is so crisp and clear now, and I never thought that would be possible in my life. The whole staff was always very warm and friendly with me, from Eric at the front to the staff who would take me back to run eye exams to the doctors themselves. It made me feel at peace when I first spoke with Ann, a staff member who did some of my eye exams, recently had PRK surgery at that office the very first time I was there for my consultation with Dr. Hoang for PRK surgery. She had explained to me that she had JUST received the surgery within that office and she was LOVING the results. She was able to give me details about her experience, and she made me feel very comfortable with the whole process. I was confident in my choice to go through with surgery with Dr. Hoang, and it has been the best decision of my life! My vision was terrible, I could barely see how many fingers someone was holding up from 7 feet away. Now I have 20/15 vision. The healing process wasn't amazing (pain and intense light sensitivity for 4 days, still some troubles within the first week) but I had enough information to where I knew that what I was experiencing in healing wasn't out of the norm. At one point, during the weekend when they were closed, I was having an issue with my eyes, and very soon after I received a call back from a doctor who I could speak with and help me figure out if I should be worried. I didn't need to worry. By the end of the first week of healing, I was at my final vision. They prepared me so well with what to expect during and after surgery. I am amazed that the ability to do this actually exists. Dr. Hoang conducted the surgery and Ann was in the operating room, along with another gentleman who I can't remember his name :'[ who was also wonderful! They were a fantastic team and I was in amazing hands. They were able to make me feel somewhat comfortable even though I was actually terrified when I was laying there ready to have the surgery. Throughout the follow-up visits, I got to see Dr. Hoang and Dr. Williams, both of which I always had professional and friendly experiences with. I am not exaggerating when I say, my experience with this See Clearly has been my best and most favorite experience I have ever had from a doctor's office. Everyone I came in contact with gave me more than 5 stars in my mind. I was almost sad at my last surgery follow-up appointment (April 10th, 2017) that I wouldn't get to be in the care of this wonderful team anymore! The one and only bad thing that ever happened, is when I took one of their hard candies, and it actually cut my tongue! OUCH! That cut on my tongue hurt more than the eye surgery ever did. The healing process hurt for a few days though, but the result is so worth it. I can see now. I had such an amazing experience at See Clearly Vision. The staff and doctors pride themselves on the power of knowledge and integrity. I feel it's extremely important and rare to have a doctor who's willing to turn away business if he or she feels it isn't in the best interest of the patient, and that's what you'll get here. They take the time to show you thorough videos and documents so you know exactly what you're in for (I was there as someone who was interested in getting LASIK). They want you to know what's realistic, what you'll experience, and how the procedures are implemented. Even during my procedure the doctor and nurse were explaining everything to me. For such an impactful procedure, I was at ease and felt completely in the loop. If you're interested in LASIK, LASEK/PRK, or any other corneal procedure, I would highly encourage you to check them out. The thing that convinced me most to go there (aside from my doctor's referral) is all of the doctors' incredible medical accomplishments. I first visited a See Clearly opthalmologist for a troublesome eye condition. Within a couple of visits, my issue was corrected and I was happy with the doctor and the outcome. Some months later I scheduled an eye exam and was seen by a SC optometrist. While waiting for my appointment, I browsed the optical shop. I mentioned to the optician that I was considering new frames. After my eye exam, though, I immediately felt as if I was being hustled back out to the optician, who told me she got off at 3:30 (it was almost 3:30). I tried on a few frames, but told the optician I'd come back another time (though by then decided I wasn't jazzed by their selection). The optician replied, "I thought you said you wanted new glasses?" As if I had an obligation to buy even though I didn't see what I liked. The SC eye professionals and the office staff are all very nice, but the optical shop leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't consider buying frames there. read more

Dr. Rajpal and Dr. Hoang have both done surgeries for a total of 2 cornea transplants and 2 cataract surgeries. I have had major deteriorating eyesight for 55 years. My vision is now 20/20 and 20/30 respectively. their office staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Your eyesight is one of your most precious and necessary functions. Dr. Wisecarver, my doctor, not only provides frank open advice but is extremely knowledgeable - on my first visit she had me in better contacts that resolved a number of my issues! I ultimately had LASIK done in the office, and was very impressed not only with the technology they offer and the clear way of explaining the different options but also with my entire experience. 1) Expect no sense that either Wisecarver or Rajpal care about you as a person. Both have the warmth of day-old fish. But it gets worse: 2) I had serious dry eye pain. After I left for FL in the winter, I couldn't get Wisecarver to answer my desperate email asking about a Rx. It took repeated communications to her assistant to get even a curt, unhelpful reply. I guess she couldn't bill my insurance for answering an email. 3) Wisecarver is quick to push $$$$$ therapies on you. I researched both their Blephex and Eye Express & found they are no more effective in treating blepharitis than an OTC lid scrub. She also - against my express wishes - gave my unlisted home phone to a fish oil company that pestered me with sales calls. Why do I think the practice gets kickbacks?? 4) Worst of all, I give her an F for competence. Here in FL, I found a doc who gave me an eye drop that eliminated my pain completely & changed my life. What's the matter with Wisecarver & Rajpal that they couldn't have done this? I'm pretty angry about it. It seems they aren't on top of their field, but instead are into $$$$$ from your insurance, kickbacks, & fees from their fancy machines. read more
