On May 11, I saw my regular eye doctor to get an updated prescription for my glasses. Instead of updating my prescription, she referred me to Eye Doctors of Washington because of supposed scarring on my eyes. The earliest appointment I could get was on June 23, almost a month and a half away. To make it worse, although I live in Tysons Corner, I could only get an appointment in their inconvenient (to me) Chevy Chase office instead of their Tysons office. At the appointment, instead of updating my prescription, the doctor prescribed medications for supposed problems that have never been diagnosed before. I now have to go back to that inconvenient office on August 31, which means I'm stuck with my outdated prescription until at least sometime in September -- unless they come up with another excuse to delay things even further. My appointments and LPI procedure with Dr. Mantravadi and the MAs were great. All were efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and had great bedside manner. Ekaterina, their front desk person, said she would not schedule my follow up appointment due to a balance on my account after I had previously asked for an itemized receipt and EOB. I had mentioned I was on my spouse's insurance and needed to follow up since I had been incorrectly billed and was trying to get that sorted out before I made payment since I had every intention in paying my balance. The other front desk person, Mia, overheard and provided me with the information I requested and apologized. I am honestly uncomfortable returning to the office because of this interaction. Ekaterina is unprofessional, displays attitude in conversation and tone and is a poor representation of the practice. Working in healthcare, I am well aware of frustrations with insurance companies and knowledge of social determinants of health, so it is disheartening to encounter other personnel in the field who are poorly versed in competence training and present judgmental, rude, and unprofessional demeanor in the healthcare office setting. read more

A nice enough location though super crowded when I arrived for my early morning appointment. Toilets aren't in the clinic but outside in the hallway and with numeric locks (probably because it's a building shared by many offices?). They provide free WiFi. Fortunately the wait wasn't too long. Two nurses took me in one after another for a series of test using a variety of machines. That took quite some time (no wonder they told everyone to plan for 2 hours total for any visit). Finally the doctor came to see me and gave me some pamphlets. Turns out it's only an initial visit. It's okay I guess if you live near an office and can drop by to confirm appoints, reschedule and so on. But you can't do this over the phone -- they don't answer. And you can't call a specific office -- all calls go to a central desk that doesn't answer. Then you get switched to an answering service that is uninterested in handling your call. Three times in a row had to wait more than one hour beyond appointment time to see doctor. This time was with a hungry and tired 3 year old. Imagine if we were even 10 minutes late for our appointment. I inquired and was told they have 1 practice manager managing 6 locations and she is in MD and has no idea what's going on in Tysons. Their phone system is terrible, no one answers and it's nearly impossible to get through to anyone but when you come in there are multiple employees just sitting around seemingly with nothing to do. Had a very strange visit with Dr. Mantravadi that started off normal, but quickly degenerated into what looked to us as him being grouchy and annoyed during the appointment with my 89-year old father. This mood lasted throughout the visit and made us feel so uncomfortable, that we've chosen to no longer return to see him. So the doctor came in to the room to review my father's test results and said there had been little change over the last year (my father had seen him twice before), and things were looking OK. He then asked if there were any changes in his eyesight, etc... I simply said, "Doctor, we've noticed that his eyesight has been slowly getting worse over the last year." At this point, Dr. Mantravadi's demeanor appeared to us to instantly change as he angrily snapped, raising his voice, "Well how do you know that?! What have you seen that indicates that?!". In the past, he's normally been respectful, but now it seemed to us the doctor was acting out because he was annoyed hearing information he had just asked for. Ignoring the outburst, I gave some quick examples of how my Dad now struggles with daily tasks that he didn't a year ago: taking medication, recognizing people from afar, etc... Dr. Mantravadi got quiet, took a pause, and then tried to address why this might be, BUT for the rest of the appointment, he just appeared to us to be irritated and was terse and curt in his responses to our questions. What's really concerning was this conduct was in front of my 89-year old father who struggles as it is. Do you want this from a doctor with your elderly relatives? On the ride home, my normally easy-going elderly father who likes EVERYONE turned to me and said, "I didn't like that doctor." I laughed because in our estimation it really was such a bizarre encounter, that even he felt the need to say something. If you're in need of help, I think you're better off seeking treatment somewhere else. We did and are happier for it. read more

I received LASIK for nearsighted vision from Eye Doctors of Washington-Tyson Corner on May 12th, 2022, and to be completely honest, I feel like I had the procedure performed in a 3rd world country, not the United States. My eyes have been exceedingly dry since the procedure, causing me to spend more money on eyedrops, than I ever did on contact solution. Adding to that, they were unable to correct both my eyes to 20/20, (though they said they would) and instead one is 20/15 and the other 20/25, which correlates to me experiencing what I can only describe as an optical differential shift, as one eye constantly tries to compensate for the other. Since having the procedure, I have experienced persistent headaches, been unable to focus on items at a distance of more than 10 meters, and am seeing double, or what they refer to as "halo vision." My advice to anyone interested in LASIK is, if your eyesight isn't too bad, as mine was, don't get LASIK. Just keep wearing contacts. However, if you feel you must get LASIK, think twice about going to Eye Doctors of Washington. If your experience is anything like mine (and I pray it isn't), they will tell you you're a "perfect" candidate for LAIK, happily take your $4500, then haphazardly take a laser to your eye permanently changing your vision... for better... or in my case, for worse. read more

From the impersonal self check in kiosk with one person at the front desk not engaging until a payment is due to waiting numerous times while listening to sexiest conversations between staff members, I hope to never come back here. The person who first met with me was walking through the waiting/medical imaging area eating an egg sandwich while picking up paperwork etc. The only people who seem professional so far is the women taking images using a machine that is open to the waiting room, and a couple of the other assistants. So I woke the other day and couldn't see out of my left eye. Naturally, my optometrist was freaked out and sent me to Eye Doctors of Washington. While I was in the waiting room contemplating my future eye patch and career as a pirate, Arrgh!, I soon found out that I had nothing to worry about. The doctors diagnosed a blood clot in my eye due to some random scar tissue. A week of eye drops, and my sight was as good as new, no blood clot and no more scar tissue. I couldn't be happier with their professionalism and service, and I will see them again. read more

Yes, I recommend LASIK despite having to relearn ideal eyeshadow techniques. Dr. Kang is fantastic and I'd unhesitatingly refer anyone to him. Free parking in attached lot. Office staff were warm & welcoming both visits here. My experience began with extensive communication via phone tag & email. I was aiming to drain my HSA during EDOW's winter Lasik sale. Coordinators are so busy it took hours to get a response, but in sympathy penciled me in for surgery 3 days after consult, pending confirmed eligibility. I also asked for an unusual circumstance of rolling my pre-op visit into my consult (let's call it the C/PO for this review), given tight timing & pre-op requirements. I think they were accommodating because my desired surgeon would be on vacation in 2 wks. They said I'd need someone to drive me home for surgery day, and discussed other need-to-knows. Front desk: I love the Lions Club dropbox to donate your glasses. It's an awesome option I haven't seen at the Chevy Chase EDOW. The staff here is friendly and cheerful, and they're more excited than you for your eyeballs! Though I'm tech savvy, they still guided me in navigating through the electronic check-in kiosk. Free Refresh with preservatives samples. C/PO day: The tech (and my usual eye doc, and Kang) exclaimed my corneas are thicker than the average bear's. The only time it's ok to call a body part of mine fat, ha. I'm blinky and other pros have remarked as much; EDOW didn't make me feel bad about it even though some tests were attempted more than once for an accurate reading. She had me watch a couple videos about Lasik on a tablet, half-promotional & informational. The surgery sim made me a lil squeamish. Kang reviewed my charts aloud, describing his analysis of my candidacy. He let me go through my checklist of questions (Is non-eye makeup ok? When can I can drink again? and less ridic asks, I promise), and responded in appropriate detail. I felt he cared about my case, and at no point with him have I felt rushed. The Tysons EDOW coordinator gave me paperwork on Lasik & requisite medications, a contract that itemized costs, and a discount program for op-related drops. Our convo lasted long enough that the worst of the 3-hr dilation effects were subsiding on departure. Kim was a pleasant POC and later called to notify of a logistical issue. Paid the difference by credit card. Op day: Signed gratefully for valium. I was still so anxious that I can't imagine how I could've done without. Upon mention of an allergy to one species of shellfish, they adjusted eye anesthetics to be safe. Felt like sleep grit in my eyes. Fiji H2O, warm cookies, & assorted junk food in the waiting area. Choice of plush Slapshot, cow, or mini-football for your hands to busy themselves with during surgery. Eyes both flapped before shaping; breathedon'tpanic; focus on a blurry light. With mobile machinery, it was 20 mins from anesthetic to procedure completion. Kang paused as often as necessary to remind me to relax. Nobody tells you about the odor. The gamey smell of my eyeballs cooking made me vegetarian for a few days. A quick exam later, they applied eyedrops for the road. Exit swag bag included padded eyeshields (hope your boo likes waking up to the lab assistant look), 10 vials of pf drops, and a Hershey's chocolate bar. Sleep for as long as you can when you get home. They mailed a smiley sugar cookie a few months later. Could've worked the next day, but I'm glad I took PTO to avoid eye strain. Pre-surgery vision wasn't too bad, and my post-op vision's almost as clear as my old with-glasses vision. Night halos reduced after 6 months and are manageable w/self-training to see "around" them. Overall quality of life improved (3D movies / snow/watersports / losing prescription sunglasses no longer fill me with dread); I notice windy days more. Why I can't round up: - During P/CO, only the coordinator seemed aware it was a combo appointment. It's not reassuring to have to inform your surgeon he'll be operating on you in 3 days' time; he called a tech back in to administer pre-op eyedrops. - I was nearly given 24-hr dilation pre-op drops, only prevented when another tech glanced in and said, "Oh no, use the shorter dilation." - Had next steps not been thoroughly discussed w/me, I wouldn't have caught the mistake made in scheduling my surgery at the wrong location. I hustled to arrange more complicated post-op transportation than I'd have needed from CC EDOW. Patient pro-tips: - Buy pf drops from Costco, cheaper & higher volume than Amazon. I'm tapering off but on track for 500+ vials year 1. - Practice not touching your eyes for a month pre-op. Easier to not rub eyes after training to eyedrop when dry/itchy, and good practice for when the Rx bottle costs $80. - HSAs have daily expenditure limits, manually waived for less than a day by phone. - Pillowfort if your boo flails in their sleep. Effectiveness - 5/5 Comfort - 4.5/5 I went to this office to get lasik. The real key with this office is that each laser surgery is custom, meaning you get corrective surgery specifically designed for your set of eyes. The office itself is impeccably decorated and comfortable. The nurses, doctors, and surgeons are all very knowledgeable and great at communicating. Before the surgery, they offered me and my family who accompanied some incredibly delicious cookies (and what better way to calm your nerves pre-op than a sugary snack). And perhaps the best thing - your vision correction is guaranteed for life. I am now about three months out from my surgery and my vision is great, it's really a relief to be able to see without glasses. My only complaint is the difficulty in reaching people for scheduling (indeed, I am still trying to get someone to schedule me for my last follow-up appointment). I feel like it was pulling teeth to get someone on the phone or email who could quickly get me set up for an appointment. I am writing this review with 2 days post op and with my new 20/15 vision! I had been looking to get LASIK for the past year and decided that this would the perfect time due to being able to work from home. A few things attracted me to EDOW: the convenient location (in Tyson's), the latest LASIK technology, the experienced doctors, transparent website with all the forms, risks, videos, etc. and it not being a massive chain. There was also a $1000 off promotion for PRK and Custom LASIK when I scheduled. I like that each LASIK procedure included a customized eye mapping to prevent some of the negative side effects (halos, glare, etc.) which I learned is not standard for all practices. The whole process was seamless from the initial free consultation that I was able to schedule for the following day to the post operative appointments. The initial consultation included a standard eye exam, cornea mapping, vision evaluation and eye health exam. Jon was extremely helpful in answering questions and explaining each step. My eyes were healthy and my corneas were thick enough so I was approved! I was able to schedule the pre-op, LASIK surgery and post-op immediately after the appointment. For the next two weeks, the tech instructed me to wear my glasses to allow my eyes to return to its natural shape. All the appointments are confirmed online which is very easy. The pre-op only took about 45 minutes. This is when my eyes were dilated, mapped, and the "true" prescription was assessed for the surgery. They also ordered my prescriptions through Friendly's Pharmacy for delivery to my home. The antibiotic and corticosteroid drops were delivered the following day. All very easy! The actual surgery day was about 2 weeks later at 2pm on a Thursday. I was in and out within 35 minutes! In the first room, Jon administered a bunch of drops (numbing, antibiotics, others) and also gave me a Valium. They also gave me glasses, eye shields, post care instructions and some lubricating drops for home. A few minutes later I walked to the LASIK suite where I laid down for the procedure. Dr. Kang explained each step and the expected feelings and sounds so I was completely at ease. I never felt any pain whatsoever. The first machine applied some pressure my eyes one at a time, my vision went temporarily blurry and then I was moved to the next machine to reshape the cornea. I focused on the green light and noticed the slight burning smell. But felt I absolutely no pain or discomfort at this point. The whole procedure lasted maybe 5-7 minutes. I then went a another room where Dr. Kang evaluated my eyes. I was then sent on my way! My vision was already was about the same as when I wore glasses just sensitive to light and a bit hazy. The first 2 hours were probably the most uncomfortable since my eyes felt heavy from the drops and I felt a bit dizzy. I napped with my face mask and new eye shield since my eyes just felt sensitive and tired. Two hours later I felt like a completely different person. I did wear sunglasses inside to avid glare and diligently began my eye drop regime. I was able to watch TV and that night without an issue. The following day was magical as I woke up with better vision than I had with contacts. I had very little dryness and none of the halos/glare/redness people talk about. That morning, I drove myself to for the post op where the optometrist said I had 20/15 and with almost no inflammation or discomfort. I even ran that afternoon. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice if considering LASIK. Everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable and skilled. I attribute my speedy recovery and excellent results to them. Had good experience until it came time to set up my 12 month appointment. Here's a tip if you forget to set up your 12 month apt and miss it you would have to pay to get your eyes checked. And the charge for just getting your eyes checked would be from $150 to $800 which is just ridiculous. I was told the average charge for a 12 month post lasik eye check up is around $350 and they would not cover the check up as it's past my 12 month period. The important thing here is they don't tell you the exact amount so you might end up with $800 or $150 or anywhere in between. So if you have had your Lasik done then put a reminder in your calendar for the 12 month check up so you don't miss it. read more

First of all, I had originally scheduled with Dr. Kang through ZocDoc to have a look at something my former ophthalmologist in Maryland brought up. EDOW immediately reached out to me to let me know that Dr. Mayer was the doc for that and I could either schedule through them directly or through ZocDoc again. Second, I really like their fancy check-in process! You put your ID and your insurance card in the little card-scanning slot (I didn't realize it was a slot at first and lamely laid the card on top of the slot, oops!) and it will read off the necessary information to reduce the amount of time you need to spend entering it in. (Also, this is random but I appreciated the variety of the magazines they had in the waiting room, even though my wait was too short for me to really read anything. Some places only have medical pamphlets and that kills me a little bit inside.) Everything went really smoothly for my eye exam and the tests that I had to go through. I think I am also just really pleasantly surprised because I had a much longer, more frustrating visit with the same exams at my last ophthalmologist's office, so the fact that this visit went so smoothly was great. Each technician and doctor explained things to me really clearly as far as risk factors and what they were looking for, and all the staff were really friendly to me. The space itself is nice and I'm glad I have a new eye doctor in the area that I can really enjoy coming to see, even with the eye drops that we all must endure for every eye appointment! read more

It has taken me a long time to write this review but I finally decided it was time to share my experience because I feel others need to know what I went through. I suffered from conjunctivitis multiple times within the year 2013 and came and saw Dr. Kang for a visit. I was given the option to have a cornea scrape to remove The virus from sitting on my cornea. He was able to convince me that I needed this procedure so a month later I came in for my scheduled visit. The treatment itself was extremely painful and no one warned me that it would be this way. They gave me very vague information on how to care for my eye after the treatment. I remember my mom and I asking many questions and the receptionist and technician gave very short non-descriptive answers. A week later, I came in for them to remove the medicated Band-Aid contact that was covering my eye. It was 100% removed prematurely. I have never experienced such excruciating pain in my life. I couldn't see out of my eye and when I let the doctor and staff know they basically just told me that I needed to get used to it. I had driven to my appointment and actually had to sit in their lobby to have my aunt come and pick me up because I couldn't see. Again, the staff was negligent and didn't address the fact that I was in such pain and they needed to reapply the contact. When my aunt came she let them know that they needed to do something about my concern and finally after 30 minutes they reapplied the bandaid contact. About a month later, I went for a follow up visit and that's where the doctor said that all of the virus was not removed. None of that was addressed in my preliminary visits so you can imagine my frustration. They said that I would have to pay an additional fee for them to re-operate and I was very upset and decided not to take that route and to visit another doctor. My vision is not restored to this day and truly I do blame them. My advice to other potential patients is, do your research and make sure that if you do decide to do anything at this office, MAKE SURE you are fully aware of the treatments and potential consequences. read more

EDOW aware that this is a HUGE practice. I felt like I was in a patient factory: I watched one patient after the other have their eyes dilated every 15 minutes and then ushered in to see a doctor. I was there for some recent discoloration in my eyes and an eyelid rash that had lasted several months. The intake tech asked why I was there, and ended up writing down something that suggested I had come in due to an injury (which I never said); then I saw another tech who checked my corneas, who was nice. Dr. Shah, the ophthalmologist, was thoroughly unimpressive. She seemed, quite frankly, like she didn't want to be there and was confused by the fact that she thought I was there for an eye injury, when I actually had just some strange discoloration in my eyes and an eyelid rash. She didn't even notice the discoloration during her exam, but saw it when I pointed it out in ambient light. She wasn't sure what was going on saying "we (in medicine) don't always have an answer for everything" and referred me back to my dr. who had referred me to an opthamologist in the first place. It was clear that she was not going to do any digging or try to figure out what was actually going on. That would take more than the 10 minutes she spent with me. She didn't take any time to ask about prior medical history or other health issues. She didn't even address my eye rash. I will not be returning. read more

I called for an appointment due to a referral from my doctor. I asked the person taking information for a price on the test requested by the doctor. She tells me the price is between $100 - $800. She could not tell me the price for a specific test which has to be a routine test. This makes no sense to me. I have never had a doctor or dentist tell me they could not give me an exact amount for a specific test. Sorry...I'll look for another doctors office. This sounds like a scam. read more

Dr. Kang explained everything and told me even though enhancement surgery was an option, it was not necessary. I appreciate his honesty. My LASIK experience at the Eye Doctors of Washington was remarkable. Everyone who helped me along the way made the experience so pleasant and enjoyable that I had no worries or fears coming into the procedure. Misti made sure that I was well informed about what I was getting into and was prepared for all the questions I had for her. She also was awesome at reminding my forgetful self when my appointments were and what medicines I should be taking before my procedure. Jon was a delight and helped calmed my anxiety before the procedure! Then there was Synthia who helped me with the preop and with the procedure. She was amazing during the whole process. She explained everything that she was doing and helped clarified any other questions I had. Finally, there was Dr. Kang! Dr. Kang was truly a master of his profession. His movements were so smooth and so precise. He also explained what he was doing the whole time he was performing the procedure and gave great words of encouragement. I knew as soon as I got on that table that I was in great hands. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and was able to see the following day with no discomfort. I am truly thankful and blessed to be able to work with such an amazing team. 10/10 would recommend this place for anyone else considering LASIK!! read more

Full disclosure: I won my procedure at a Wizards game, so I can't really speak about the cost (although I'm looking forward to that tax bill lol). On the real though, despite the potential costs, I do think in the end it's worth it. Prior to last month, when I had my procedure, I had been wearing glasses and contacts for roughly 16-17 years. So, this entire process was worth it. Everyone on staff was just the best (front desk, technicians, coordinators, and even Dr. Kang himself). They were all friendly, professional, and just about willing to answer any question I may have had (even, the stupid ones). The LASIK procedure itself was quick, painless, and actually not all that bad. You do get to indulge in some sweets, and Fiji water prior to the surgery (along with a mix of some medicines) and that was pretty cool. Dr. Kang's bedside manner was pretty topnotch as he does talk you through the entire thing, which did help time go a little faster and the procedure easier to go through. Please, please, please for the love of all that's good make sure you have a driver and follow the post-op instructions religiously. short version: DO IT! read more

Check in process is easy with the electronic check in. You can pay your copays upfront. Waiting time is not too long. The waiting room can be a little cold, but I suppose its better than hot a muggy! Techs are nice and clean off the equipment before doing test before you see the doctor and no matter how many times you've been there they still explain everything they are doing. Dr. Kang is amazing! I had a horrible bout of conjunctivitis that other doctors had misdiagnosed and the medication was further irritating my eyes by the time I saw dr kang I could hardly open my eyes and was in pain. His chairside manner is wonderful, I am so glad to have been referred to him. I will be coming back for yearly follow ups due to a past episode of ON. So glad to have found a great doct to keep tabs on my eyeballs! I only get two in this lifetime! read more

I want to premise this by saying that I initially wrote a very long and detailed review but I went over the maximum allowed characters. If you would like more info, I'd be happy to provide a more detailed review. Dr. Clinch performed my LASIK surgery about a month ago. I've been waiting to post this review to assess them regarding after care as well. I am a very detailed and thorough person, so I had 2 doctor recommendations when I asked around -- one of which was Dr. Clinch. Dr. Clinch was actually not who I was leaning towards when I completed my research but he's who I ended up with because I liked him so much. I also found his office staff very thorough and detailed. Other reviews mention poor service by his staff at Chevy Chase. Although all my appointments have been at the Tyson's office, I had my surgery done at Chevy Chase. I found them all very friendly there, and as well at the Tyson's office. Dr. Clinch talked me through the surgery, which helped a great deal with my anxiety. He was also very pleasant and funny. After the surgery, I felt like I had made the right decision in selecting him. I had very poor eyesight (over -7 in both eyes) and it is now 20/20 in my right eye, and 20/25 in my left eye. Dr. Clinch said it will improve as time passes. I was a little worried about 2 weeks ago at my last follow-up because I was only 20/30 and they told me it would take longer for me since my eyes were so bad to begin with. I have diligently followed instructions with eye drops and have not had dry eyes or any other issues. Some other reviewers make it sound like EDOW is only interested in making a quick buck and you're treated like you're in a factory line. I really don't feel that way. Dr. Clinch and Dr. Kang (I saw him once for a follow up) has scheduled me for more than the standard follow-ups to track my progress because my specific case requires it. They really don't dismiss you after the surgery. I really wanted LASIK! Especially since I have been wearing glasses since Kindergarten and contacts since 8th grade, 20 years! Assuming automatically I would be a candidate because I don't have a astigmatism or other issues, last November finally got the courage to make an appointment and schedule surgery. The front desk was very gracious considering I was guilty of being a couple minutes late. Next they took me back to measure my eyes, which took less than 10 minutes. Sat down and looked through some tiny holes, didn't even know they were measuring them and the last one just looked at a picture on the other end. Watched a quick video about the actual procedure one of the doctors narrated then saw Dr. Kang. He explained that I wasn't a candidate for LASIK due to the degree of my prescription since it would only be able to reduce not eliminate the need for glasses/contacts. He offered other solutions and in no way made me feel pressured or rushed to make a decision to have any procedure. Very patient! Made me feel extremely comfortable and wish I had gone in sooner and maybe they could have done the procedure before my eyes got to bad or set money aside in an HSA that I can't use. I would highly recommend the office and Dr. Kang he is extremely trustworthy! Also, it was so simply to put money into my HSA or even pay myself back, which my company's HR explained and I have now done for other medical expenses. Dr. Clinch did LASIK on both of my eyes last Thursday. The entire process was easy, painless and quick. The results have been amazing; I am seeing the world in HD. Dr. Clinch's office is comprised of friendly competent staff members, clean waiting areas and patient rooms, and Dr. Clinch himself is very personable. All the work is in the prep, the actual surgery took about 10 minutes or less. I was nervous laying down under this large device, but you could tell Dr. Clinch was in his element and I was coached through the entire process. The surgery was over before I realized it and I was walking out of the waiting room and being driven home to take a nap. The only discomfort that I endured was a feeling that I slept in my contacts, and that shortly dissipated as I routinely used the eye drops prescribed to me. I was able to see the moment the surgery was over, and since then, my vision has been steadily improving. I was originally -4.75 and had a real hard time seeing anything a few feet from my face. Now I can read signs farther than my friends with glasses/contacts (of the few who I have encountered since Thursday). It is literally lifting a fog from your lens and if you're on the fence, then I suggest you jump ship and get it done. read more

I can't thank the amazing staff at Eye Doctors Of Washington and of course Dr. Kang enough! My experience with Eye Doctors of Washington has far exceeded my expectations in terms of the support and quality care I received. Of course, my vision without contact lens and glasses is a new and exciting adventure I am still adapting to but continue to be amazed by each day. I couldn't be happier. I just experienced my own little miracle! The morning after my cataract surgery, when I awoke, as a reflex, I reached for my glasses. They were not there. But it didn't matter because I could now see as well or better without them. I have worn glasses since I was 15 months old, so it was absolutely amazing to see the world clearly without glasses for the first time in my almost 73 years. I had been thinking about getting lasik for a couple years and decided to make it my New Year's resolution. Eye Doctors of Washington was recommended to me by a colleague and I could not be happier with my experience and results. My procedure was done by Dr. Kang and Misti helped ease all my nerves and set expectations for the operation. I was shocked at how quickly it went and was in and out of the operating room within 4-minutes. I was one of the unlucky ones that wasn't able to get home before the pain set in, but Misti assured me that it would only last 2-hours. At exactly that point, I put in my drops and was able to sleep away the rest of the discomfort. 2-hours of pain is a blimp in now having 20/15 vision.
