We didn't know what to expect at "Seed and Bean Market." Is it a vegetarian restaurant? A farmer's market? A place to buy health foods? A quick perusal of the on-line menu explained that it calls itself a "Cannabis Café," in addition to a large variety of delicious-sounding breakfast, lunch and dinner options. While you can find healthy options with and without meat, you can also indulge your taste buds in mouth-watering options such as Eggs Benedict, Cranberry Walnut Salad, Lobster Bisque, Turkey Avocado Panini, Seared Scallops and a plethora of crafted beverages. On visiting, my husband opted for the Pasta Purses: pear- and cheese-stuffed pasta pockets, with cherry tomatoes, spinach, apple chicken sausage, and a balsamic glaze. It was beyond delicious! I ordered the Blackened Redfish which was served atop a mountain of cheesy risotto. We both brought home enough for a second meal the following day! Where does the cannabis come in? The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp and its byproducts, including CBD, legal nationwide--as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC. You may order a shot of CBD for your coffee, add hemp protein to a berry smoothie, or infuse THC into your food. For dessert, enjoy a hemp brownie or munch on hemp granola bites. First and foremost, I would recommend trying the downtown location. In my experience, the food quality there is better, and you don't have to wait on a server since it's more of a counter-style setup. Unfortunately, our experience at this location was not good. We were seated right away since there was only one other table in the restaurant. When we went to order, my parents asked for omelets and I was going to ordered a BLT. We were told they didn't have omelet mix (even though they had eggs) and they were also out of bacon. For a breakfast restaurant, that's something that should really be mentioned before seating customers. I asked why an omelet couldn't be made if they had eggs, but was simply told it wasn't possible to order one. Since the full menu was available during breakfast, we ordered the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer. The smaller pieces were cooked properly, but the larger pieces were still cold inside. I ended up ordering the biscuits and gravy, which came out extremely greasy, and the biscuits were burnt. To their credit, they did give us 30% off the meal, but the total still came to about $45, and overall the experience just wasn't great. I don't see myself returning to this location. It's disappointing because I previously had a great experience at the downtown location, which is why I chose to bring my parents here while visiting them in Cape Coral. read more

I'm trying hard not to be the "I remember when this was a vacant lot" guy, but I've been visiting my Mom here in Cape Coral for a few years and I've been watching this space slowly build up to this mixed use structure. Retail and restaurants on the ground floor and living space above, squeezed between busy Cape Coral Boulevard on one side and 47th Terrace on the other. I was the only customer in this morning, which suited my purpose just fine. A delicious latte and I connected to their wifi where I spent more than an hour cranking out Yelp reviews and enjoying the morning. They have a nice looking breakfast menu with omelets and a dinner menu that includes shrimp & grits. And yes, they even have hemp brownie bites if you're someone who consumes such things. This is a nice large space and I love the big windows behind the bar. They also have a few tables outside on the sidewalk. During high season, I expect this place will do quite well. Had the best pistachio martini there a month ago. This last time, took dome friends and ordered a round of pistachio martinis, got espresso instead, question them and we were told oh I'm sorry, these will be on the house...then she came back a few minutes later and told us the 2 main ingredients for the pistachio martinis are out of stock...then brought us a BILL FOR $59!!! I really hate leaving bad reviews. I waited almost an entire week to write this just to make sure it wasn't emotionally charged. With that said, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had of late. I took my team to lunch on a Tuesday. We walked in at 11:45 and got sat immediately as there was nobody else in the restaurant. That probably should have been our first clue as the surrounding restaurants seemed to be quite busy. We ordered our meals and four cocktails (yes, during work hours - I'm the boss!) within 10 minutes of sitting down. Then we waited. After about 15 minutes, the first cocktail come out. 10 minutes later the second cocktail was brought to the table. I stopped the waitress and asked her what was going on. One drink every 10 minutes didn't seem reasonable. She explained that the bartender had called in and so one of the other servers was making the drinks. I told her that she should have told us because we would have easily ordered beers instead. The third drink came out with our food, which was delivered at 25 after the hour. The fourth cocktail was delivered about halfway through our meal and it was not drinkable. Our meals were not prepped according to the menu, which was frustrating. Our server attempted to make things right, but there was only so much she could do outside of remaking the food. They don't have a fryer, which is fine, so the only options for a side is hash browns or a small salad. We all wished we had a bag of chips to go with our sandwiches. Anyway...what should have been a quick, delicious, and stress-free lunch break turned into a grueling hour-long nightmare. I ended up having to leave early to make my next appointment, but my staff mentioned the chef came out and apologized. Sadly, I don't see us going to this restaurant again. From the looks of it, other people aren't going either. I hope the owners see this and give their staff the support they need. read more
