The staff was incredibly friendly, and when we arrived they let us know there would be about a 20-minute wait and invited us to sample coffee from their coffee bar while we waited. The coffee bar has several different roasts and flavored coffees to try, or you can order the coffee bar as your drink and get a mug for unlimited self-serve refills. We ordered their signature iced coffee, and it was delicious. The food menu has plenty of ways to customize your meal. I had the crab salad sandwich with a side of cinnamon bread, and it was fantastic. I'm not a fan of celery, but it was finely chopped instead of having big chunks, so it was perfect. Overall, this was a wonderful experience with great food, delicious coffee, and genuinely friendly service. I'm really glad we found Sweet Bean, and it's definitely a place we'll be coming back to. read more

Our friend, who is a regular here brought us here for breakfast. Sweet Bean is a cozy dark cafe that offers table service. They have a coffee bar with an assortment of endless beans to choose from. He told me that their cinnamon bread is house made and the French toast is one of their signature dishes. I just had to try it! As anyone knows French toast is my go-to breakfast. This French toast was expertly rolled tightly with swirls of cinnamon sugar and is ooey and gooey. To finish, it had a light dusting of powdered sugar and served with warm, real maple syrup that brought it all together perfectly. One bite and I was in love! To complement my meal I ordered a vanilla latte. My latte was hot and flavorful and I always appreciate when the baristas go the extra mile and top my drink with beautiful latte art. We lived in Cape Coral until '24 and we went to Sweet Bean many times and loved it. Came back to visit friends and we went all excited about going back for breakfast. As soon as we entered we met "Marge in charge. She was rude and lacked customer service skills. We had 10 and she was seating single customers at a table for six. We were ok with using two tables near each other. After seeing this go on for about 45 minutes we went next door to First Watch where we were promptly seated and taken care of very nicely. Don't know if Sweet Bean has new ownership, but they won't stay in business with such rude behavior. read more

Today, I draw the line...being a server myself, I'm mindful of tipping according to service amongst other things...introduced a coworker to the place because the atmosphere and food in the past were always above and beyond-and service...service was great and so was food; howeverrrrr, we were chatting still after we paid and the hostess approached us saying "I hate to ask, but would you mind moving to the couch or outside to the patio, we have a party of 5 that's been waiting for a long time"- let's just say my bill was $48 and I had a $50 bill laid out on the table for MY tip alone (YES, more than my bill to compensate my server for taking a little longer at her table,respectfully and as it should be, because we were chatting which has never been an issue in my past ANYWHERE)...my coworker also tipped from their check...I declined the couch offer and reminded her that I specifically didn't want to sit outside (stated upon arrival) and she said replied "yes, I remember you didn't want to sit outside". Soooo, I got the hint that my presence was in someway bothering said hostess and got up and apologized for taking up the table as I politely pointed out an empty 4 top next to us. I gave my server her $50 tip and apologized for taking up her table. The kicker, as we left there was also an empty 6 top outside LOLOL. Mind you, this "supposed" 5 top that needed our table bad enough to send the hostess over to us asking us to leave may not have wanted to sit outside either but still. I have worked in the restaurant industry for many years and have NEVER asked a guest to leave or move when there were empty tables available...EVER. That is not a me problem, that is a business problem and management problem. I made it clear we were catching up and my intentions (followed through) were to take care of my server accordingly for taking longer. Let's add to the sign of no kids allowed that chatters are not allowed either. Just be clear-we have great food but want you to eat and leave-no dilly dallying. I will not be introducing anyone new to this restaurant again or dining here again. It's not what you say that people remember but how you made them feel and I definitely did not feel welcome. Went in for a quick lunch and try to catch up with some emails. I was completely surprised at ambiance. This has a setting of an intimate café with leather sofa and armchairs with a TV and a little light music. The coffee bar was lined with jars of various selection of coffee beans. There were outside tables and inside tables well space out. A private room with a table for six was available in the front. The wall was decorated with many skytography by a local photographer Quinn Sedam who specializes in capturing images of tropical storms and lighting. Quinn produced stunning images of electrical storms with bays, lakes, rivers, and Gulf of Mexico by Pine Island, Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Very impressive artwork! I have a Denver or Western Omelet with fresh fruit and a cinnamon bread grilled. The first bite at the cinnamon bread was little dry but as I munched the center raisin paste it added the flavor to the bread! The omelet was cooked perfectly and fresh fruit was very refreshing. There was a self-serving carafe station. I opted for a house blended specialty coffee. Love their house blended coffee! The food is good and service is excellent! Dinner is available after 5:00 PM with lamb chop, rib eyes, salmon, red snapper and other items. Only negative is the staff is not masked. Coming down McGregor towards Iona we found this establishment. It was an Excellent choice for a leisurely breakfast. We sat on the shaded patio. Their specialty is an endless coffee bar inside with 6 options. We recommend the French Roast topped off with one half press of Belgian Toffee. My second trip was their only decaf- Sumatra. Both of our choices for breakfast was the crust less quiche- highly pleased. It stood an inch & a half tall & was a quarter pie each. Glad I was hungry. My sides were mixed fruit and jalapeño corn bread. Each item was well presented and tasty -5. The inside decor was dark. Too dark for me but it is a nice hanging art gallery (4-sale) and decor items. See pics. It may not be a roastery as the bean aromas did not permeate the dining room, but it is a coffee restaurant. Service was reasonably fast. Appropriate. Be aware that with tip breakfast will approach $30 each, however, it is worth returning again. In the front there is a separate glass semi-private dining room that seats 8. I love the breakfast at this place! As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the host. There are tables inside, outside, and a cool fireplace area with a sofa and two recliners. The inside is dark, but it matches the ambiance of the cafe. They have Turkish lamps and nice chandeliers lighting up the cafe. If there is a wait, the hostess will ask if you want coffee, or mimosas while you wait which you can get from their coffee bar. They have little sample cups if you want to try coffee flavors you are unsure about. I love the chocolate amaretto, and my husband loves the house blend. They move their tables efficiently without feeling any rush. The food is amazing. I've had the avocado toast and the crustless quiche - both have been delicious. My husband loves their western omlette. Also, we love their cinnamon bread, and their jalapeño cornbread. The waiters/waitresses are nice and attentive so you will never feel forgotten. They have a gay equality sticker on the door of which you will think they would treat of all races, gay and non-gay the same. That was not the case today. We went in and shortly after a white couple came in, not only they were greeted exceptionally well, but also got a very good table before we did and we got the worst table by the entrance. Went the day before to reserve a table for six for a birthday celebration. Was told no problem. We showed up 15 minutes early and had to wait 35 minutes to be seated in a table that we didn't select. The table was given to to customers, that seats six asked why and the answer was the owner didn't want to make people wait to be seated. However, we waited 35 minutes to seat.
