Today, we finished our exercise nearby and eight of us decided to get a quick bite. Naturally, we went to Eggcetera. As usual, we were seated quickly. Water, juices and coffee were flowing while we wait for our Western Omelet, Lox, Omelet, Sante Fe Omelet, Grits and Biscuit, Grilled Chicken bowls. They were well prepared! Such a wonderful place for brunch there's cute little breakfast and lunch spot. I love the name and is really clever. My hubby and I were looking for somewhere to get something to eat do the breakfast or lunch so this was a perfect place. We both decided on breakfast. He got the classic breakfast and I got the Village breakfast . They both were very satisfying and the perfect amount of food slightly too much for me but excellent. The only difference between the classic breakfast plate along with in the village is that mine the village came with bacon and that's the only addition and since I had four strips of bacon and I gave two of mine to my hubby, our server, Kevin was excellent made sure he took care of things in a pro Pt manner. I ordered a coffee to go and was served in a styrofoam cup and no sugar in the raw. I had seen this place before and thought maybe one day I'll eat there but after knowing they don't have specialty coffees and no sugar in the raw, it's not likely I'll go back and try their food. Dined here two days in a row. Ordered takeout the first day and since they have changed their POS, it took forever to order from the server at the counter. She was nice, said she worked at the restaurant for 3 years, but everyone was flummoxed by the new POS. Ordered a Southern Scrambler (sub turkey sausage instead of pork sausage and gravy) w/breakfast potatoes, and when I got back, I received tasteless hash browns instead. My scrambler however was so perfectly made that I knew I would fulfill my promise of returning the next day to dine in. The next day, I dined in and let them know about the hash browns mix up and was told that's the only potato they have now as they no longer have breakfast potatoes. Apparently the menu was updated as well but not changed! So I ordered the scrambler again w/cheesy grits this time. The scrambler mistakenly came as an omelet this time, and although I was disappointed, it wasn't a deal breaker as I had to leave town and could not wait for a re-fire. Their toast is also 1 slice of bread cut in half which feels like cutting corners. I went to pay my check up front only to be told the check was not mine, and the check would be double what I was given. Bottom line is the folks in the kitchen can cook. We headed over here with two hours of time to burn while Mom was having her surgery at the hospital across the way. No need to eat hospital cafeteria food when this is right here! At 7:30 am, we were warmly welcomed and seated. For about 20 minutes, we were the only ones in the restaurant so we had plenty of attention from the staff who took our order and refilled coffee. I chose the corned beef hash and eggs, quite pleased that they were able to poach them. They arrived perfect with a firm center and the hash was quite good with more beef than potato and there was also fried potatoes on the side. My brother had the farmer's omelet which came with a half avocado on top. A great portion and it looked perfect. Food was excellent, service was excellent and we had a very enjoyable meal. I've been here twice for breakfast. Love the fun different options. Can get what's considered "normal" breakfasts, but also things like "Little Italy" or "Polska" which have the ethnic flair such as Italian sausage and peppers or Polish sausage and sauerkraut (kapusta) with your eggs and toast. The Cuban states it is pressed which it was not and it came on a hoagie roll, the pieces of meat looked like scraps, and it was not prepared as the menu stated. The second order did not have the side of sausage that was paid for but we did not receive it. There were 10 orders in our group but I would hope that someone is responsible for checking the orders prior to them being presented to the customer. So, the only "Cons" I have to report here is that my order wasn't as up to par as I would have liked it. I ordered their "Santa Fe Skillet". It consists of chicken, sautéed onions, jalapeños, with spicy Jack Cheese, two eggs cooked any style, your choice of toast, and sausage gravy ($10.95). To beat to the chase, everything was delicious - with the exception of the eggs. I ordered my eggs poached which in my book means when you fork into them the yolk is runny. I found this not to be the case. They had obviously been overcooked - not by much, but enough to categorize it as a "soft", not "poached" (IMO). That being said, everything else was very good. The service was friendly and courteous. Coffee refills were on time. The staff even sang "Happy Birthday" to an embarrassed, yet grateful, guest at an adjoining table. I love their mason jars with handles for your water (and the water is very good too). There's a slight up charge if you pay with a credit card. I don't know how much as we paid cash, but thought I'd let you all know. I'm going with a hearty 4 Stars. If you haven't been here, I'd recommend you check them out. Great breakfast! I got the crepes and they were just fantastic. I finished the whole plate in a hurry, which I am normally not able to do. Their eggs are yummy too, and they even include a fresh slice of cantaloupe with it, a fun addition. The house coffee was decent, I sat and enjoyed several cups worth. Their maple syrup came in a cute glass bottle, and it was also warm which I usually consider the mark of a truly good breakfast place (warm syrup is what's up). Our waitress was the sweetest and funniest lady and she definitely helped make our visit more enjoyable. I'd come back here again just for the crepes though, I'd definitely recommend those! Went for the first time today. It's very busy. Tables are close together and it kind of loud. Can't carry on a conversation, they need ceiling tile or something to buffer the noise. The sound is amplified because there is no ceiling buffer , it's bad. Definitely not on the relaxing side but the amount of customers tells me the food is probably pretty good. Our server was nice, very efficient, not overly friendly but definitely competent. It was super busy so I am guessing that was why she was in a hurry to take our order. I have frequent the restaurant several times in the past with my husband and enjoyed the quinoa salad. I wanted to introduce a friend to the restaurant and ordered the Sanibel salad. It was dry and had so much grizzle in the chicken. I asked for some extra balsamic and was told it was an extra $.75 cuz it was expensive. I was deeply disappointed and only ate 1/2 of the salad.
