This Sees is inside the Clackamas mall. Downstairs level not far from Macys... down the escalator from the food court. It's always clean. I haven't experienced them really being out of candy i wanted even on really busy holidays. I've been coming here for over five years now. One of the manager's is really nice to guests and always offers to help if you don't want anything from the case. The workers are all ok. There is a younger gal here that is clearly new but so great with customer service and cranks through the guests in an efficient manner . Some of the older staff move slower than molasses when helping you. They're all nice but when it takes 20 minutes to get a pound of chocolate it is a time management thing because really what the slower ones are doing is being busy bodies and listening to everyone else's conversation and giving advice when they should really be focused on their guests. The candy is freaking delicious is you haven't had it you're missing out. My sister swears by the Lemon drops. I love the dark chocolate anything but especially the molasses chips, nougats, and coffee scotch mallows... The younger gals mom came in and brought her a boba tea but didn't set it stably on the counter and it spilled behind. It wasn't ANYONE'S fault it was an accident. Plain and simple i was front and center it was an ACCIDENT. Anyway initially the manager came and hustled to clean it up but then for the next 20 minutes while my box was being built pointed out EVERYTHING each individual thing that was ruined or had to be cleaned. Meanwhile the poor girl was helping customers but her lip was quivering and her eyes were watering as she was in the verge of tears. Being in HR i talked to her and told her accidents happen . I would have coached the manager on proper addressing of accidents but she went in the back... probably upset and angry. Do better. Be better as a manager to people when accidents happen. You guys, this was my first time walking into a See's Candies store, and I was blown away by the amazing customer service, generous samples, and delicious chocolates too. We happened to come in on National Lollipop Day and each got free chocolate lollipops, as well as some other tasty samples. This is a great location with very friendly staff. I especially appreciated Debbie P. She was so personable and made me laugh. She asked me what type of chocolates and flavors I like. I told her that I strongly despise dark chocolate. She steered me away from those, even though they look good. I was so thankful for the personalized attention. Is See's the finest ever? I know for a fact, from the very beginning there has always been some au cuuant, some delightful looking delicacy, that might be available at Bullock's Wilshire or Burgdorf's--but when the Stars of Hollywood came home for the night, they'd have a box of Sees waiting for them at home. The same candies then, their candies now, are that good. Get on their mailing list to see the specials and the Seasons special additions and discounts. If you live near a shop, order your goodies online and pick up at the shop to save yourself at least from some of the madness of the season. For those of you thinking of ordering with, say, Amazon? I'd discourage you from paying a premium with Amazon in this instance, nor have the disappointment of Amazon's shipping. The candy is not stored properly, it is easier just to pick up something at the shop, pre-ordered or not. I have not received a box through Sees shipping service. Also, if you get friends, workmates, church members or neighbors, Sees does have a Quantity order program, which can be a nifty deal, a great way for a non-profit to rally the troops and most importantly, a genuine reason to order an extra pound. read more

I so miss See's downtown Seattle location. It was an icon for many years. I wish they'd open a new store in the growing downtown Seattle area again soon. Family excursions to town don't feel complete without a stock up from See's! It has been good to have a few new ones East of Seattle. At least we can get our See's fix on occasion. I love See' s Candies. My most recent experience with See's Candies was buying the smaller bunnies in white chocolate to give as favors at an Easter dinner. Everybody was thrilled with them, especially since they were from See's Of course, I couldn't not buy myself a tasty treat. I bought myself and Ron a small sampler box each with nutty chocolates and rich caramels. I also bought a bag of black licorice, my favorite. I love See's Candies about the best because of their freshness and variety. It's so close to Halloween, stop in and trick or treat yourself. read more

Stopped by this location on 5/20/22 to pick up some treats for the RN's in the ICU unit that we're taking care of my father after a Cardiac Arrest, Kim and Jennifer were on staff and they were amazing! Explained why I was there, and they took the time to really walk me through all their treat options and gave me samples of their candy and helped me through the process of picking out the best ones! See's Candies. What to say? I grew up loving See's Candies. If our family was given a box as a gift, I would bust the box open and zero in on the ones with dark chocolate and/or nuts. I walked into Clackamas Town Center yesterday and got into the line to get some See's Candies ... for myself! I think the last time I bought some See's Candies, in individual pieces, was about a decade ago. Some things don't change. See's Candies is one of those things. And that's a very good thing. And what I sampled yesterday was no exception. Their chocolates are concoctions of high quality. I was pleased by the service received at See's Candies in Clackamas Town Center Being February 14, they were a little hurried yet still managed to be courteous and thorough with their explanations. I feel as though I'm withholding a star because, at some stores I've been to, especially when I was a kid in L.A., there were some dour older ladies working there who couldn't crack a smile if their life depended on it and who acted like they had defected from some nunnery. In fact, the service on my foray within the last 10 years wasn't that good, either, and that store wasn't even crowded. This wasn't the case at the Clackamas Town Center location. The whole experience was upbeat. They were even handing out samples. This outfit really puts some meat on the bones of the expression "a kid in a candy store." The selection, and creativity within it, is vast. There is a cool menu or chart they handed out. It was to expedite the decision making ... and the line. I learned two things. First, the chart has two sides - one is milk chocolate-centric and the other is dark chocolate-centric and, at the bottom of both sides, there are some specialty items and truffles. Second, the glass cases in the store are similarly arranged - with milk chocolates, dark chocolates, and specialty items grouped into zones. Not only did I grow up loving See's Candies, I also grew up within 10 miles of where it was founded. At this time, their headquarters are sadly no longer in Los Angeles, but in South San Francisco, or what locals there refer to as "South City." I don't know when they moved their top brass there, but I learned that they are now owned by Berkshire-Hathaway (read: Warren Buffett). It gets better. The matriarch, Mary See, and her husband came to Los Angeles from Canada, albeit Ontario! And, in Los Angeles, they initially rented space from a prominent French-Canadian businessman. Four stars, baby: 1. chocolate, and lots of it 2. Los Angeles ties 3. (South) San Francisco ties 4. Canadian ties Missing star: 1. Those dour ladies you might periodically run into at some stores who should be happy because they're around chocolate. "Wazza matta u," I say. Also, See's Candies stores are primarily in the western half of the U.S. and not present in eastern states. All in good fun, though. See's Candies are so good that it's better to buy a few pieces in bulk rather than get anywhere near a box of them! read more

I went here looking for a specific candy for my husband, but it turned out to be seasonal. I had a list from everyone who knew I was going to See's. I am not a candy eater, so I can only say, I had a piece and it was average, nothing making me skid into the mall's parking lot for it. My husband's grandmother loved this place and always had candy from here all the time. I guess that is why I always think of grandmother's candy dishes when I think of See's. When I went in here, I was clearly telling the counter lady I was coming in for family and buying candy. However, she kept going over shipping costs with me until I finally asked her why we were going over shipping costs, she said because I have a heavy southern accent she didn't think I lived here. Oh, that is sweet, but I had just five minutes before said I lived in Brightwood and she knew where that was. I know she was being helpful, but she was not being overly nice about it when explaining it to me, and basically telling me not to buy candy at the mall but to have it shipped to the south. The kicker was telling me she hoped the people I was buying candy for weren't going to eat too much, it was bad for you. OH MY.... way to sell the product. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but there are family members that have their favorite See's candy, so I guess I may find my way back on somebody's birthday, unless I have them ship it to me, of course, somewhere in the south. read more

You know those sales associates that talk in a loud, high-pitched voice when the are helping customers...and you know there's no way they sound like that in real life...there is a woman here that exactly fits that stereotype. It was so obvious that she didn't care...she was just yelling "HOW CAN I HELP YOU!" but looked like she hated her life. She also seemed VERY offended that I asked to try a specific sample. So that really bugged me, especially because I have had associates at other stores actually ask me what I would like to try. It's like she was upset she had to walk down to the other side of the case and open a drawer. But I've been here before, and it's not always bad. One time a different associate was very helpful when I asked about ingredients and even pulled out the book and looked them up. She was very happy to chat and help me out. In the end, they give out free samples, it's not too pricey, and the chocolate tastes good, so I can't really be that upset about receiving bad service the last time I was there. My boyfriend were in the mall and wanted a piece of chocolate but we were surprised that this was the only chocolate store in the mall. We had to wait a bit just to get a piece of chocolate. We got the dark chocolate marzipan, which was good. It was just an ok experience ...When I was younger I was more excited to be in the store than now. I went into See's Candies to buy my wife white chocolate candy for Valentine's Day. She hates regular chocolate. Not only was I greeted as soon as I entered, but one of the staff members was very attentive in helping me select the right type of candy for her. On Christmas Eve, I watched the woman who appeared to be the store manager berating an employee, IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, who just appeared to be trying to leave work at her scheduled time. Candy is amazing but the service leaves much to be desired. I come in here a lot for chocolate and I get greeted 2/10 times. I'm rarely offered samples even tho I always walk out with something for either me or my family. The cashiers are always grumpy and today I walked in to an empty store with once again no greeting and wasn't offered a sample. I got the Milk Pecan Buds for 10.25$ and I think this is the last time I'll visit this specific location. A shame. read more
