I miss 85C bakery! They used to dominate the field in Taiwan. It has drinks, pastries, savory treats and cakes. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea and got some pineapple cakes. Very light and packed the flavors with real pineapple. Tea was strong, not water down. You pick out the pastry items then line up to check out. You can put in drink order at the register or at kiosk. They call you when the drink is ready. It's a quick in and out store. No seats. Very bright and clean inside. They have some merchandise on display to buy. Overall a great bakery for quick snack and drink.

This menu board looked delicious, can't wait to go back

I went over to Washington Square to pick up my glasses from Lens Crafters and had to walk by this place due, to construction. Lucky me! I tried some pastries here a few years ago but wasn't that impressed. I figured it was time to revisit, pick up a pastry and try some of the ice tea. Every dessert looked so appealing and I could have spent a lot longer contemplating, but I didn't. I had the Guava Danish and some Passion Fruit ice tea. The Danish was so yummy and I enjoyed the tea but it was very sweet. A lot has changed since Covid and I feel everything was reasonably priced and next time, I am going to ask for half green tea/half fruit infused.

This a high quality bakery in Washington Square mall. I came on a Friday around 1pm and none of the pastries were sold out so there was a great selection of pastries and breads to choose from. Everything is clearly labeled on the signs and individually packaged, which I appreciated. The line can be pretty long, but it moves fast. The standout pastry to get here are the egg tarts. They are not too sweet, perfectly creamy, and have a buttery crust. I tried the mochi egg tarts for the first time and they were great, but not anything too different in texture from the original. I also got some filled pastries that all had a hefty amount of the filing and tasted amazing.

That taro cake was great! I loved how the US is trying out cool flavors like mango and taro. I hope I can find black sesame or chestnut cakes at a bakery one day. The cake looked so pretty. The taste was perfect. We should totally go back and try out other cakes in the future.

It's hard to justify paying over $40 for an 8" cake but this bakery makes a legitimate argument. Besides being a great looking cake, the ube taste was present. As with most Asian-style baked goods, the cake & frosting was light and not too sweet. Other sort of exotic flavors were also available but at this price point, bakery from here is definitely only for special occasions.

Love that they provide info on each item

An international Taiwanese chain bakery / cafe, this was my first time visiting the Portland location. For the milk breads, sweet and savory pastries, muffins, and cookies, it's self serve. I really appreciate that each item has a card clearly indicating the name, calories, ingredients and price. At the counter, there is a display case with gorgeous rainbow sherbert colored cake slices and specialty desserts. While I didn't try any of those, they certainly looked beautiful and I would come back to pick up an assortment for a dinner party. I opted for a savory hotdog pastry because I needed protein not was good, hit the spot for an afternoon snack. In addition to the baked goods, they sell a variety of coffee and tea drinks, smoothies and fruit juices. Several tables to sit at, cafe style.

I missed this place for a similar style bakery at the Clackamas mall. I will say that the products were good, but I was a little disappointed. They didn't have the items I was hoping for that. I got when I frequent There. Place was very clean things in the case were fresh. I didn't get anything prepackaged outside the case because really truly I wonder how they could be so fresh with just how much volume they have there. Don't take my word on that honestly, I have no idea if they do bake and package all of those fresh each day. Like most of these Asian bakeries, I like a fruit, moose or fruit cream based item and the cake you did not disappoint not a bad price not a great price, but it was a great product

There's always a long line when I come in, but they are fast. If you are looking for some goodies, this is the place to go. I always enjoy their cakes and pastries, it's very light in sweetness. Inside is not a place you go for a date since it's very loud when busy and the line runs past the tables.

I love this place for its convenience and yummy treats; however, I haven't stopped by in awhile and I would have to rate today's experience a 3/5. Upon entering, the white trays at the entrance were all dirty, with food crumbs all over them (usually they're relatively clean). Additionally, when I went to purchase my items, it took some time for the cashier to acknowledge me, even though I was the only person in line. On a more positive note, I loved that there was still a wide selection of pastries and desserts on the shelves. I will likely be back in the future because I love their food items, but am hoping for improvements in cleanliness and service.

I came here on the weekend and got their grapefruit green tea. I ordered at their drink kiosk rather than waiting in line since I wasn't buying any pastries. However, the kiosk didn't give me a physical receipt for my order... so I just memorized the number. It was so busy, and everyone else around me had a physical receipt...my order number eventually came but the staff didn't believe me, but I had the number written down, had also purchase history to show. Eventually got my drink, I wish the kiosk provided a physical receipt. The grapefruit drink was fine, nice and refreshing. I remember at other 85 locations many years ago they used to put in a whole grapefruit.

Love a good Pastry? Grab a tray and you get to select your favorite pastry, Asian essence pastry, Soft, airy, fluffy. Busy location, might have a little wait line, always a busy spot!

We were seated quickly -- it was a nice day, so we sat in their lovely outdoor dining area. They brought us room temperature waters (not a fan), and took our drink orders rather quickly. Service was good throughout our visit. I ordered the IPA Bacon Cheeseburger, which came (over)loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, a large burger patty, and the IPA mustard sauce. I don't want to complain about a burger being piled high with bacon, pickles, and fresh onions, lettuce, & tomatoes; but it was difficult to eat. While the Challah bun was delicious, it was woefully undersized for the task of holding it all together. I enjoyed it, but felt the IPA sauce was lost in the midst of everything else, and I also thought the burger patty was under-seasoned. I ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately they were the "battered" variety, which I just don't enjoy. Restaurants -- please, just serve normal French fries, without any batter on them! We knew from past experience that baked goods and desserts are really what La Provence is good at, so we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. Their very non-traditional take on this Italian classic would probably some people uneasy, but it was delicious. It had a dense chocolate cake base, with a thick layer of mascarpone mousse on top of that, then a topping of thin, crunchy, chocolate hazelnut ganache. Not too sweet, with a variety of textures to enjoy. We would definitely come back again, but I'd get something other than burger and fries.

The plain croissant was unfortunately a miss for me--but the bacon & egg papillon was OMG delicious... so much so that I ended up buying three. No regrets!!! The Versaille, Tiramisu, and Marionberry cheesecake were all delish and absolutely worth trying. We also tried the beignet rocher, marionberry cheese croissant, everything-but-the-bagel croissant, peach papillon, and the kouign amann apple--so many fun options, and overall a great stop if you love pastries and want variety. Service was a little hit-or-miss. The first time I visited, the server seemed a bit grumpy - especially while I was placing a larger order, but on my return visit, a different server was noticeably friendlier... maybe because my order was a little smaller

I thought we'd go there for some to-go, and hubby found a parking spot, just around the corner, in the shade. As he was turning right, I also spotted a 'bakery' written on the window. I was thinking of waiting for him, in the car, and just grab a chicken sandwich. But, after he left, I decided to go inside the bakery to browse. He was standing at the corner, reading the menu of the shop, when I called him to 'Come over here!' I didn't know what I just walked in. Ooddles & oodles of cookies, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, like a one-stop bakery, cafe to-go. I started to take a video, of the whole shop, but sadly, as I turned it off, I realized I was just turning it ON! Instead of buying one sandwich for each of us, we ended up buying 4 of our 'look scrumptious' pastries that could fill us up. (Photos are not good quality, because I thought I was video-taping it. That's the result!) We each shared everything! We both agreed, it was probably one of the best lunches we've eaten. The pastry were still warm, the cheese in our ham was melting in your mouth. I don't understand how it's possible for this creation to remain crispy even though it's stored at room temperature instead of the more usual warming lamps. The curry is thick and has generous chunks of beef and vegetables. The bread isn't really "donut" per se since that brings to mind something sweet with a tender crumb.
