You'll notice the formidable figures on the price tags but ok fine, it's a touristy spot. There was some pseudoscience-looking literature around, as well as a Jesusy vibe, which granted has nothing to do with candy but nonetheless hurts my respect level for the place. An ice cream stand is here too, which might not be open during the cold season. Coconut/dark chocolate morsel yummy, but I don't see how you could mess that up. The toffee was nutty and buttery and not quite right, my friends and I agreed. I bought Ranch Style Divinity because I'm a sucker for nougat/marshmallow treats and I wasn't in my right mind from the altitude and jelly beans that I had already been snacking on. It turned out to be as much fun to mush around in my fingers as to eat. I decided to enjoy its saccharine substance because it cost a lot of money. While playing Candy Crush, I nibbled until my pancreas was humming and my brain was pleasingly packed with fructose and swimming in dopamine. So if that's what you want from candy, it works. I realize there's not a large range of possible quality to many candies but some products seem to not be as delicious as they could be, compared to, say, Kilwin's. And my sampling is admittedly not large so they could still win me over, with a banana chew perhaps.

The owner, Emily, was there working to keep everything running smoothly. The food was healthy and evidently is a great local favorite. All the breakfast and brunch staples you'd hope for, done really well. Our server, Izzy, was amazing too. Super friendly and on top of a party of 9 (and my 18-month old toddler. I'd totally recommend this spot for a laid-back breakfast or brunch. And honestly, if I'm ever back in the area, I'd go out of my to visit Taste Local again. I walked out really impressed, as I think anyone would.

I was seated quickly, before I could even come up with a witty remark for a question of preference. I ordered a Baklava Latte with oat milk, as one does in Rome, and the sweet potato hash with a homemade biscuit. I believe the modern slang is straight bussin, however I'm led to believe that gas would also suffice, no cap frfr on God, et cetera. Had I let a baser instinct take over, I may have licked the plate clean. Next time, perhaps.

The Brookie , half chocolate chip and half brownie cookie was my favorite. The peanut butter with Reese's cups was also loved. S'mores was yummy. The Lemon was well enjoyed and the M&M was a real treat. The cookies are a good large size that can easily be shared. There is no seating inside so note that before arriving. The inside has a freezer or cooler with dough to buy and a party pack of smaller cookies. The store is manned by young women who both sell and package the cookies. They turn a screen around for you to tip. They were pretty friendly. You can get day old cookies in a clear bag for a discount on a table in the front. This is a cute small business and a gift from here will be well received. Give it a go!
