We came in to find some gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week & they had several themed items like a packaged box of chocolates & cute bags. Some customers got personal help from staff on the floor, but we didn't get acknowledged until we approached the candy counter. We were offered either milk or dark chocolate options for a sample. For purchase, we selected the limited time Dark Mint Scotchmallow (strong mint flavor) & Dark Coffee Scotchmallow (coffee flavor was too subtle for me). Excellent customer service . I called on the phone the day before looking for a limited edition box and they answered kindly and right away. I didn't feel rushed or a bother. I went in the next day and my aunt had give in before me and browsed the store and was offered a chocolate. My aunt left and returned with me as I went in about 25 minutes later and she was offered a second chocolate. No judgement no questions of why she was back. I went to this location today for more as I already finished my whole box from Christmas haha. First time at a See's Candies store and was super excited to find out you can pick and make your own box of chocolate! Yes!! I have been missing See's candy for the longest time ever since the coronavirus shelter lockdown. I was sad when last month the website said they were not taking any orders at this time. My mom found an alternative website that is affiliated with Sees called the Oriental Trading Company and was selling Sees candy on their website. Unfortunately, their prices were outrageous; I mean $29 for one See's egg I mean really!?!? Anyways, with shipping and handling and taxes tacked on to that price that was way too much. The saying goes- the best will come to those who wait has never rang more true to this day. Last night, I randomly looked at the Sees website and boom, they are now taking orders again (yay)! I then decided to look at See's Candy at their Roseville locations. All the locations were closed for the exception on the one on Douglas Blvd; their website said they were taking phone orders and had curbside assistance (woohoo)!!! I placed an order today and got a box of their amazing chocolates; they said I was suppose to pick up the order before 5 pm and the order would be placed on a table outside their store once I arrived at their store. I placed the order which was quick and gave them my credit card information and name over the phone. Once I arrived, one of the workers came out and verified who I was and handed me my bag of chocolates. Ohhh, I am so happy! The stores are always clean and stocked even around the crazy holiday times. They still are always happy and helpful offering free samples and making sure that you did get one. I ordered a few boxes from my friend at work she was helping her daughter sell See's Candy for charity to raise money for their school. She did not store the boxes correctly and the melted pretty bad. Another friend said I should try and see if the See's Candy store would replace them. I came to this location on the weekend before Easter Sunday hoping to find a chocolate bunny and some eggs for my stepdaughter for Easter. I saw they were already sold out online, so I didn't have too much hope as I entered the store. Lucky for me they were completely stocked with dark chocolate bunnies, milk chocolate bunnies, large bunnies, small bunnies, solid bunnies, dark chocolate eggs, milk chocolate eggs, jelly beans, scotchmallow eggs, marshmallow eggs, buttercream eggs, peanut butter eggs, sampler boxes, etc. Yes!!! I ended up getting the dark chocolate bunny and a pack of 6 scotchmallow eggs for about $12.50. Success! For me Sees Candies bring back many fond memories of my childhood coming here with my parents for every special occasion and right before Christmas to use my Dads teacher discount. This store was no exception with extremely friendly employees who were super nice and helpful and made sure I didn't leave without my free sample! I was ordering candy when I asked for a sample (every single Sees I go to offers a sample first) and she replied "normally we only give that to you at the end". She did give me the candy but then I bit into it noticing it was almost all caramel. I said out loud, "oh I don't like this very much. It has caramel." She scoffed "well if you had read there was caramel you wouldn't be complaining would you?" I have never been so mistreated over a piece of candy and this is the kind of customer treatment that will NEVER have me return. I paid for the candy and left immediately. Absolutely the best chocolates in the world! They have a huge selection of chocolates. They also have hard candies like peanut brittle, peppermints, suckers if you're into that sort of thing. The butter creams, the butterscotch square, and the milk bordeau are my favorites. Sometimes if there's a line, especially around holidays (valentines, mother's day for sure) you can have a wait to be served but it's oh so worth it.
