Walked in late on a Friday night. The place had a handful of people and was clean. The vibe and colors gave off a late-night hangout spot feel, so it just felt like the right place to be. Everything on their menu looked really good, but I decided to go with something a little more refreshing: a strawberry sundae. Ordering is super easy through two tablets to the left of the counter. It does force you to provide a phone number, so make sure you don't forget to opt out of those pesky text messages once you leave (if that's your preference). The tap-to-pay was very responsive too. The order didn't take long at all, and I very much enjoyed sitting on their little poofs around one of their tables. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and my sundae was so light and easy to eat. It had a generous helping of strawberry goodness, with even more at the bottom, which was quite a lovely surprise. Also, the two Pocky sticks on the side didn't even make it past my first two spoonfulls. Found this place on yelp nearby. It looked really good and promising but then I wasn't too impressed with what I ordered. We walked in with a large group of people but it was really busy inside. You order at the kiosks and wait for your name to be called. There's a few places to sit but since it was so busy we had to wait a bit for some people to leave in order to sit down. I got the purple rain, which ended up just being some soft serve with ube flavor liquid inside and milk cubes. I thought it would've been straight ube flavored ice cream. I wasn't a huge fan of it overall. Same with the matcha latte my fiancé got, he said it was standard. Nothing amazing. Next time I might have to try something different. Not sure why it took me this long to try it but now im addicted. Dangerous it's right by my office. Came here on a Friday afternoon with colleagues around 3:00pm. Not busy at all. Plenty of space to sit. We ordered the Purple Rain, Honey Cubed, and the Tokyo Banana Cream. Purple Rain hit. It had the deep purple color yet not overly strong ube flavor. The uniqueness is the milk cube cakes. Hard to describe the texture and flavor. Either way, it added a nice touch to this one. Honey Cubed was simple. Perfect balance of different sweetness. Only gripe is that the honey does harden so there's a little bit of work to scrape it out of the cup. A battle I'm okay with. I didn't get a chance to try the Tokyo Cream but based on how it was devoured, I'd say it's a win as well. Three wins, with many more flavors to try. I'll be back. We decided to come here because I saw on TikTok and this was place popular. When we walked in it was super busy. They had two kiosks one in the front and one on the side which was kinda confusing because anyone can go to the side one since there wasn't a line for that. I needed to go to the bathroom and it was pretty big and decorated creatively. I ordered the double matcha cream ($7.95). I got the 50% sweetness knowing it would be super sweet at an ice cream place. The drink came out pretty quick but I think my friends order the ice cream and that took longer than my drink. We've been here a couple of times now. I enjoyed the soft serve with a cone on top. The cone itself was a bit messy due to being fragile and having a hole at the bottom, so it's better to have in the cup with a cone added. The Boba Sundae is good but you really need to like the taste of molasses. The syrup is very strong in molasses flavor. The service is okay. They have you order from a screen. The people behind the counter were alright but not very knowledgeable in their products. Needless to say, we enjoyed the ice cream. Tokyo Cream is a Japanese dessert place that is located in a small plaza with other businesses. There is a small parking lot and it's easy to find parking. Inside the decor is black and white and overall has a modern vibe. The employee greeted us when we walked in but didn't offer to take our order. Then she left to the back and we saw there was a kiosk to order from to the left of the cashier area. I did notice there was a line forming after I ordered since there was only one kiosk. There were 3 people in line and one of the employees came out to turn on a second kiosk. The kiosk was taking a while to load and I felt like the employee could have just started taking orders instead of waiting for the kiosk for good customer service instead of keeping people waiting. I guess some businesses just only use kiosks for ordering now. Their menu offers matcha, coffee, and sparkling soda drinks in addition to various flavored sundaes - matcha, ube, banana, strawberry, boba, and coffee. I went with my partner and we ordered the honey sundae to share. The description said it's made with local honey. It came with a piece of honeycomb. The soft serve is made from Hokkaido milk and it is silky and smooth with a subtle sweetness. I prefer Asian desserts since they are not overly sweet and it was not overwhelming sweet. The honey paired well to give it some sweetness without being over the top. The honey flavored sundae was probably the most simple compared to the other sundae flavors but still delicious! The sundae was a big amount and was enough to share between two people! I don't think I could have finished it myself! They don't skimp on the portion size. Wow ok, I was in the area and saw the signage I was intrigued so popped in after visiting a neighboring business. First off, I love the decor. The furnishings say "come here with your friends and stay to enjoy your goodies " so inviting ! The theme of the restaurant is pretty much all black-and-white. Including the restrooms. You place your order at the kiosk at the counter, and when your order is ready, your name will be called and you pick up your items from the counter. The Thai tea: it was a little disappointing. Keep in mind that it's made with what they say is imported ice cream from Hokkaido Japan. IYKYK. It was definitely interesting to have ice cream and Thai tea, but the tea was rather weak, and I was really looking for that caffeine kick. The Hokkaido ice cream with the strawberry purée over. It was really tasty. I am a sucker for strawberries, and this did not disappoint. Every bite was delicious! We also purchased a croissant with the filling with strawberries. This was really disappointing. The croissant tasted more on the stale side. The filling was underwhelming, and the expectation of strawberries went way out of the door when we realized that they had literally taken one straw and put three slices of a strawberry sticking out of the croissant. That was it. That was the strawberry. I definitely would not purchase this item again. Cool place and tasty items. This definitely will be on dessert rotation. The shop itself is beautifully designed and definitely an "Instagrammable" spot. However, the drink menu was quite limited and confusing. I had to ask about the ingredients for most of the unique names: "Dragon YZ" apparently means Dragonfruit and Yuzu (how would you guess "YZ" is Yuzu?). What in the world is "Mystichrome GT"? My son got the Dragon YZ, and while he enjoyed it, I found it to be quite sweet. If you don't have a big sweet tooth, you might want to ask for 70% sweetness next time! We were meeting up with a friend and needed a place to sit down and talk. We had just finished Top Golf and needed a place to chill and catch up. However, most of the coffee shops closed at 6pm. Tokyo Cream popped up and I noticed their specialty coffee menu and decided to head there. They also closed at 8pm! The inside had a trendy aesthetic to it. There were cool lights and art all around. It was quite busy around 5:30pm when we arrived, but we were able to find a table. They offer desserts, coffee, matcha, milk tea, and soft serve ice cream. There was a variety of different options available and everyone could get something different! I was debating between the banana matcha, but ended up getting the banana coffee. The banana flavor was present and it didn't taste artificial. The banana cream distributed at the top and bottom made it so you could taste the flavor more, which i loved! I was looking forward to sampling this spot thanks to the raving reviews and gorgeous photos. So then, why 3 stars? Ice cream sundaes, drinks, and dessert selection is great! However, the taste was mediocre at best. The dessert presentations are absolutely wonderful, but for me it's all about the taste and nothing special really stood out for us to return. We ordered purple rain (ube), boba, and so matcha sundaes. I also had the ube coffee (iced) to go. We started to dig in and ultimately didn't finish any of the sundaes. The taste for each didn't highlight anything special - I'd actually prefer the tubs of ice cream at Asian markets for the same flavors and much more affordable. The iced ube coffee hardly had a hint of ube flavor, if any, and tasted simply like an iced Vietnamese coffee but a subpar version. I'd rather just get a classic, authentic Vietnamese iced coffee to be perfectly honest. I get what the vision and goal is for this sweet spot, but I feel it's more hype and curtailed towards photo ops as a hangout spot rather than an elevated sweet spot with incredible delicacies. We're very happy to have finally tried Tokyo Cream given all the marketing surrounding it, but this just wasn't our cup of tea unfortunately. Should you try it? Absolutely! Visit at least once and decide whether or not it's for you. Don't let this or other reviews waiver your decision! What a hidden gem! I did not expect for a place this cute and yummy to be tucked away in a plaza in Roseville! I tried the Tokyo Banana Cream and my hubby tried the Purple Rain. Both were absolutely delicious. My favorite part was that these flavors were so creative and they were NOT overly sweet. The soft serve is vanilla and the toppings are placed on top. I've never had anything like it and look forward to coming back again -- and showing my friends whenever they come to visit. Tokyo cream interior design is so fun!
