Snooks is a really cute chocolate and candy shop on Sutter Street. Sometimes we hit them up for ice cream (it's Gunther's). Coffee ice cream is my favorite and this time I was spoiled for choice. They had coffee chip, mocha almond fudge and coffee Oreo. Of course I had to try them all and I went with the Oreo. So yummy! I could eat this every day. While enjoying the day in Downtown Folsom... I passed by a Chocolate shop and when it comes to chocolate I am a big back lol. They make their own chocolates and I am the biggest sucker for salted chocolate caramels. I love that they have both dark and milk chocolate to mix it up a bit. I didn't get a chance to purchase their caramel apples as customers were buying them up, I will definitely have to try them as they must be a popular commodity. The shoppe is well organized with a wide variety of chocolates, gummies, peanut and pecan brittles and so much more. Got here on multiple recommendations and a gift of highly addictive peanut brittle. Street parking might be a hike on a weekend, but worth it. The shop has a quick, fully staffed ordering counter. They expanded last year and made it twice as big, and now there is seating in a cute new space. Every kind of chocolate you can imagine....made fresh on the premises! A Folsom institution! I have been coming here but realized that I haven't written a single review. We came here for ice cream on a glorious Mother's Day afternoon. But my Sis has been coming to Snooks since 1978. They live close by We all love the Chocolates here and we will always continue they also have Hot Chocolate with whip cream. Chocolate shop in Downtown Folsom! We stopped in while walking around I was hoping to find the viral Dubai chocolate. Sadly, they did not have it, but they did have lots of other options! Like truffles, caramels and even a whole wall of different gummies including my favorite type - 3D! I asked what the most popular ice cream flavors were and they for sure said the strawberry Nutella, and I think butter brickle and pistachio. I got a kids split scoop with strawberry Nutella and it was like ribbons of Nutella with strawberry ice cream (so good!) I can't remember if I got butter brickle or pistachio as my other scoop. Besides the chocolate confection, they sell their signature peanut brittle and caramels, house made bagged popcorn mixes. novelty candy, and ice cream by the scoop. The interior of the shop has beautiful woodwork reminiscent of a turn of the century old fashion Main Street shop with family friendly vibes. You may even be able to catch how the magic happens. I was driving around the area and I was craving ice cream. For some odd reason when I searched for ice cream it brought me to this place with nothing to do with ice cream in the title. It couldn't hurt to check it out still since it does have chocolate in the title haha. I decided to order the chocolate covered cup with two scoops which was around $10. Snooks is a cute little chocolate shop in Historic Folsom, where you can watch the employees prepare their confections through glass walls. In addition to a wide variety of handmade chocolates, Snooks also offers Gunther's ice cream, Italian sodas, candies, and an assortment of gifts. Just outside of the shop are a piano, several benches, an adorable painted rock garden with a Snooks candy theme, and water misters (which are usually on when it's hot out). I've been to Snooks many, many times over the years. My friends and I always used to bring our kids here when they were little, and we've had mostly good experiences. Most recently, I stopped by this weekend to grab a piece of chocolate covered marzipan, while waiting for the lightrail. Honestly, the marzipan was not very flavorful, and definitely could have been better, but was still good. The girl who helped me was really sweet. The main reason I gave four stars instead of five is that cleanliness has been an issue, with the bathrooms sometimes being grotesque, and the employees sometimes being without masks when they were mandated. That being said, I do feel like the cleanliness has improved over the years, and recently. While I haven't loved every piece of chocolate I've tried, my favorite is probably the dark chocolate mango habanero (if I'm remembering the name correctly). Their spicy chocolates are delicious. Previously, on my old account, I think I had rated Snooks three stars, but my rating has gone up because they now carry Gunther's ice cream and fruit freezes. My favorite product here has always been the Italian soda.
