They give free samples in case you just dont know what to try...or you just want to itch your See's craving before you make it home with the product. LOVE some See's. Not a fan of the pricing. This See's candies is in The Oaks mall, on the 2nd floor across from the Apple Store. As I entered I noticed how super clean, well lighted, very organized and with attention to details. I was greeted by Angela K, Angela was so sweet, polite, kind, caring, very knowledgeable about all the candies. She had a really positive energy about herself that makes her so genuine! Angela was so down to earth and so easy to talk to. I did ask her if there were sugar free chocolates and they were so happy about that! Angela also asked if I wanted a sample which was really nice of her. They have so many chocolate, Carmels, fruity chocolates, peanut butters, dark chocolate's , and chocolate nuts to choose from! There prices points are so spot on for there delicious chocolates! Their price points are spot on! I bought some patriotic bags as gifts for 4th July as well as lollipops . Out of all the See's Candy locations I have been to, this one has the most freshest chocolates. The peanuts were fresh & tasted amazing. Any chocolate with a nougat or cream center was truly delightful, really fresh, soft & perfect. The girls behind the counter are really friendly, patient & always quick to offer a free sample when you walk through their doors. This, my friends, is a quality product, and it has been for years.  I've gone from loving the chocolate with nuts, then the chews, now -- the Bordeaux and California Brittle are my two specific favorites (just in case you are looking to gift me). I walked in with my 3 yr old grandson and asked the rude employee where the wrapped chocolate bear was located "she rudely replied by the register where they always are" then I handed the 2.00 chocolate to him and she says "are you going to pay for that "" accusing me of possibly stealing ! I can maybe understand her reasoning if I immediately walked towards the front door with it, but I am in the store clearly shopping. He's 3 he wanted to eat his promised candy from his grandma. So I proceeded to buy my items including the one my grandson was eating. Please teach your employees to not accuse or assume. It was rude and disrespectful I really do not fit the profile of a thief. Number 1 - logistical reasoning a thief probably wouldn't steal right in front of you asking where the item is and most likely not a 2.00 item. 2 : wait until they walk out of the store not while shopping in the store 3: someone with a 3 yr old with an expensive jogger dressed nicely, had just purchased 170 shoes is probably unlikely to steal something for 2.00 lol Again if they walk out with it or headed towards the exit not the entrance most likely has every intention to buy. I will politely say that the staff is not very good & too slow.If you just want to purchase a pre-made candy box-& just pay & leave-you should not stand on line when 2 people ahead of you has a huge order of individual candies. Ive noted this in two stores recently , Woodland Hills & Thousand Oaks so must be a new company training model as the employees seem like the "supervisor" from the I Love Lucy Candy Episode. Ordering online suddenly seems more appealing. I was never greeted, and was actually completely ignored. The employee wouldn't take the boxes of candy out of my hand. Is this a new Covid thing? It comes off completely rude. I was shocked when I was finally offered my sample. Never got a thank you or a goodbye. I don't know where their standards of customer service have gone, but I was trying to show my daughter how fun sees candy can be. Instead we left feeling less than. This is the local See's location at The Oaks Shopping Center. It is a good little store. They are always well stocked with whatever See's candy you want to buy. They do get busy during peak holiday hours, so be prepared to wait in line. We went during the Easter season and they had a separate checkout site open for prepacked items only. The employees were friendly and helpful, and as always, they offered us samples! See's chocolate is very good, in my opinion. It is not the best chocolate out there, but it is flavorful, and they offer many different varieties of chocolate and candy. I also think it is a good value for the price. Sometimes we do the prepacked and sometimes we put together our own boxes. Everything in this store has always tasted good and seemed fresh. The store is clean and well kept. I had visited a See's in NorCal and was disappointed when I opened the white bag and saw I wasn't given what I had asked for and the quality of what I did receive was surprisingly poor. I love giving great reviews and have never been pushed before to give a negative review. I grew-up on and always loved going to See's. I am very disappointed that they didn't make any dark chocolate Easter Bunnies this year, but that is not the purpose of this review. I went today to pickup a treat for my Mom and, while the store was at capacity, over heard the he/him and another woman stating that they hate it when people order items that they have to bend over for and he/him suggested that he just tells people they are out at of those items. I then went to the counter with my pre-packaged item and wanted to start a box. I asked to pick my sample, which is always accommodated, and was told no because they already had pre-selected samples. I mentioned that I understood I can't eat it in the store, but other stores are still accommodating, he annoying repeated the exact same sentence. I have been to many See's, spend hundreds of dollars annually at See's for gifts, and have never been told this. I have never walked out to go to another store for Easter gifts, but I left and will not be returning to this store. read more

I wish I could say I had a great experience Was overcharged for an extra box that I hadn't ordered. Very difficult to fix. The Employees ignored me at first. The young Man tried to get me to pay twice because he couldn't comprehend there was an error.Even the young lady that first assisted me couldn't understand what she had done! I have always been a sucker for limited time chocolates and candies, so I like to pop in and see the new stuff they have every few months. I came in on a Friday morning and a woman named Wyonne helped me- she might have been sweeter than the candy! I wanted to try a limited edition chocolate caramel and they were only available in the boxes. I caved and bought the box instead of my usual five individual pieces and Wyonne gave me an additional sample (we all know Sees does those awesome free samples)The gesture was small, but it was so nice and unexpected. This is a cute lil sees candies. It has been in this location for years. I like you can get a free sample before you purchase something. The staff is very kind and helpful. Try to do the custom box but I recommend looking at your options before you go in. The chocolate: The chocolate has a good flavor it almost tastes high quality. It has a good quality flavor. The chocolate has a distinct flavor than other chocolates. My kids love the coconut chocolate. I am not really a fan of their fruit flavored chocolates. As always I have been going here for years and love it. It gets way too busy on a holiday. If you are in a rush just get the peanut and nuts combo pack. However, when you are working the register and calling people who aren't ordering from behind the counter, you don't walk away mid line in front of you and go back working behind the counter! I should have gotten her name, but the customer service rep said "next in line if you're ready to check out" and several of us moved over to line up behind the register. She helped 3 people and then turned around us without a single word and put gloves on and started helping a customer in the chocolate behind the counter line. SO RUDE! While it's not Jacques Torres or Teuscher, it is consistently really good and reasonably priced chocolate. My favorite is the butterscotch square, followed by milk bordeaux, milk buttercream and california brittle. There are many other flavors to enjoy at this long-time chocolate shop. Make no mistake, See's Candies beats out the over-rated and over-priced Godiva any day. There's a reason (or many of them) why Godiva is always empty, but See's is always bustling with people. read more

I have been shopping at this See's location for more than 25 years. I have seen it incredibly busy, including during all of the major holidays. After recently relocating back to the area, I was so happy to see that their customer service was just as great, if not greatly improved. I especially want to recognize a young man whose name tag read, "Andrew R." It is so refreshing to walk into a retail store and have a customer service representative seem genuinely happy to see you, and overall more than engaging. I had my 1 year old son along with my mother with me. He was extremely patient, and so helpful. I know a lot of corporations read these reviews, and our feedback does count. Bought a box at the Thousand Oaks mall for V-Day this year and my wife was VERY disappointed this time (box # 016 LAD 13). We buy quite a few boxes for family here on the West Coast, and throughout the year we pay to ship some to the East Coast because they like it so much - 1st bad experience! The candy tasted old and not fresh like it usually did. Had some guests over - first question? How OLD is this box of candy? Wow - how embarrasing is THAT? They will get one more chance on Mother's Day and I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW. It doesn't take three strikes with me - one more bad experience and I am done with this company. This review "rounded up" to 3 from 2.5 stars because of the previous good experience we had with the company. UPDATE: Customer service - Quick, to the point and replaced our box with a new handpicked box. I will not buy pre-made boxes anymore. The fresh handpicked were better than the quality I've associated with Sees in the past. Buying Mom some more and shipping to her for Mother's Day. I especially like this location as it is never very crowded which means they are never sold out of favorites such as butterscotch squares and peanut clusters (which are a favorite of my friend Nick J.). Counter people are always willing to give samples and suggest new candies to try. The novelty candy is always colorfully packaged for any holiday you can imagine. The store is clean and bright. Not only did they go out of their way to find Dark Chocolate Turtles for me ( a favorite of my son-in-law in Chicago) which they thought were out of season, but they helped me choose the right box of assorted chocolates for my daughter's Thanksgiving weekend of parties.
