Often times our remote projects are in the western United States where homeowners already understand the value a designer brings. The biggest downfall of designing remotely is not having a contractor to refer to our remote design clients because as I'm sure you can imagine, things don't usually go to plan and corners get cut. That changes for us when we met Joe. High end custom outdoor living construction is expensive, it takes a while and it's stressful but if the communication between all parties is on point, the project is a breeze. We're happy to have aligned ourselves with Aspenwood. Our other projects in the area have been train wrecks due to contractors promising things they cannot deliver, overbooking themselves and most importantly horrible communication. This company has knocked it out of the park for 3/3 of our area projects and we're looking forward to the next one.

We cancelled the job in the last few days of August 2024 when they still hadn't planned a start date with us. So, literally - we got NOTHING for $2,000.

Our front yard is very small and we have an even smaller patch of turf that we wanted some help mowing/fertilizing. I was satisfied with their pricing structure but for the fact that they wanted to charge an insanely high hourly rate for hand pulling weeds. I called to talk to them about this and to point out that there weren't many weeds that were grown but a lot of fledgling weeds which was the whole reason we needed the help (we handpick / dig up more mature weeds all the time). We reached an agreement we were comfortable with and then when they sent us an upgraded bid, they still had a crazy high amount baked into the bid for handpicking weeds. I called to ask if they could get an eyes on the property before we approved that high amount (as I was comfortable with them spraying instead of handpicking) and they said they didn't have time to send anyone out and that the height of the weed will determine whether they spray or handpick, then they told me we could handpick the weeds that were taller ourselves if we wanted to, which was pretty upsetting. I felt very nickle and dimed by these folks given that our yard is not very big and the cost including the handpicking was the highest bid we received by far. We wanted to work with them but they were so concerned about a team of landscapers having to pick maybe 5-6 weeds, they set a very high price. I even sent them a picture of the yard and they even agreed there arent many weeds but still insisted on the high handpicking charge. Very disappointed.

Anyway, we (my wife and I) found a landscaping company that treated us like appreciated customers, not like we owed them our business. If the same effort that went into the public retaliatory response to my first review had been directed toward quality customer engagement, they might have had a happy customer and a great review instead. Calling out red flags when we see them is important so we can all continue to rely on Yelp for honest and trustworthy reviews.

A Stellar Experience with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design, Colorado Springs…read more Hey, we all know that Life is complicated enough, so it's always nice to call on really hardworking professionals to lighten your burden and workload a bit. With that in mind, I was extremely impressed with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design. They helped us with a couple of landscape projects for our house in North Colorado Springs (Northgate area), and their services have been nothing short of exceptional. Our first project involved removing some sod in the front yard and replacing it with landscape rocks. This project not only enhanced the aesthetics of our yard but also promised to reduce water usage during the growing season and minimize the effort required for lawn maintenance (mowing, aeration). Evergreen, starting with Wesley, did a fantastic job of listening to our needs. Wesley came up with a proposal that met or exceeded all our expectations. They ordered the rock, installed the contractor-grade weed cloth, and hauled away the debris, making the entire process smooth and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is that many Colorado Springs landscape companies do not work in the winter. Evergreen is a notable exception. They worked around the weather and snow to ensure that the work was done professionally and not that busy winter time. Their commitment to their work is evident in their ability to adapt to challenging conditions without compromising quality. The second project involved building a dry creek bed, or arroyo, in the backyard. This project was designed to help with flood mitigation during summer storms. Tyler and Luke were phenomenal in executing this relatively complex project. As with most projects, we encountered some snags, but Tyler was able to adjust the plan to ensure that the water flowed correctly and made sure that the water gutters from the roofs had an unobstructed path to lower ground. Very important for the torrential down pours we sometime get in the Summer. I was very impressed with Evergreen's professionalism, communication, hard work, and ability to improvise to ensure that the project deliverables were met. They assured me that they would stay until the job was done right and correct, which they did. Evergreen Ecoscape and Design is an awesome company to work with, which explains their high customer satisfaction ratings. They excel in value, cost, efficiency, and professionalism. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space. A+++ in terms of value and service. Thank you, Evergreen Ecoscape and Design, for transforming our yard and for your commitment to excellence. We look forward to collaborating with you on future projects.

I had quite a few problems with this company. I sent requests to fix these issues twice but have had no response. I contracted for river rock in front of my house to match the same rock - just smaller. Owner agreed to bring me samples but didn't. They installed the wrong rock. I had to go with him to the place he purchased the rock. I showed him what I wanted. If he had just brought me samples as agreed this all could have been avoided. They were to Install a flagstone patio & pathway out to my front gate. I had said that it should be rounded out. Parts are still straight. My understanding was they were going to come fix it; they never returned. Also, one of the flagstones came off. I sent him photos & have contacted him twice to come & fix it but he has not responded. (See photos.). They were also supposed to install the downspouts under the flagstone. They only did that on one of the downspouts. (See photos.). They agreed to put together four raised garden beds, put in the filler & then the clean garden dirt. The owner agreed to all of it. They did not follow directions I gave them as to materials; no wood chips in the bottom or put in mulch. Instead of using clean dirt, they put in the dirt/grass that was taken out of the front to put in the rocks. It was full of grass & weeds. It was NOT clean dirt. One morning the company came & started removing all their equipment. When the owner arrived, he told me the job was more than they could handle & admitted it was his fault for underbidding & not understanding the full scope of the work. After discussions, he did come back to work. Very unprofessional. I have received a quote of $1000 to fix the problems. I would like this company to either fix the issues or pay me the $1000 that I can use to pay another company to fix the issues.
