Haven't been here in years! But last Sunday I decided to stop in around 8pm to grab a bite. It was so packed when we arrived, I didn't think we were going to get a table but luckily we were able to snag a table right away since it was just 2 of us. The service was good, nothing too spectacular or overly friendly but it was quick and efficient. We had a young lady that was training, so she was being guided by someone else but she did a good job. We've been to Lemongrass Brooklyn a few times now, and every time we go, the atmosphere is what sticks with me the most. The inside is honestly beautiful. They have these decorations hanging from the ceiling, and they switch things up for the holidays, so it always feels warm and fun. There's usually good music playing too, which adds to the whole vibe. It's almost always busy, no matter when you show up. We've even gone at 9 p.m. thinking it would be quiet, and it was still packed. The staff is always really friendly and efficient, especially considering how much they have going on. Because it's such a lively spot, little things do slip through the cracks sometimes. There was one time when our order never made it to the kitchen and we had to reorder after about twenty minutes, and another time when my shrimp fried rice came out as pork instead. None of it was a huge deal, and they were genuinely apologetic both times, but it's something to keep in mind if you're going in with a tight schedule. As for the food, I really enjoy it. It's not the most traditional Thai food I've ever had, and it's definitely not very spicy, but the flavors are good and the portions are generous. I'm always impressed by the freshness and quality of the meat and vegetables. The shrimp, the grilled pork, the veggies, everything always tastes fresh and well cooked, and they give you plenty of protein and vegetables so your dish never feels like it's mostly rice or noodles. Some of my go to dishes are the pineapple fried rice, the panang curry, the basil stir fry, and the shrimp woonseen. The shrimp in that one are huge and really flavorful. Honestly, you can't go wrong with much on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot with good food, great vibes, and really kind people. I ordered the lychee shrimp appetizer and chicken Tom Kha soup and they were both out of the park delicious. The lychee shrimp is a must order! I generally forget to take pictures of the entrances of places but I did here. There's a small outdoor areas with heating for the winter months. There's also a doorman to welcome you once you walk in. Staff was very friendly once we got in. Also super easy to make a resy direct on Yelp. We ordered the sangria, vege spring rolls, red curry with pork belly and steak. Rolls were super crispy and flavorful. The star was definitely the red curry. I'm not big on curry but I'd be back for just that dish. The steak is cooked medium well but spiced and cooked so that it's still juicy. Great portions, great price, great staff. Ask the booking manager, he said not my fault it's computer problem and do not ask me because I am a heart patient and cannot take any argument. We had to cancel it. It was our first time at Lemongrass Brooklyn, and we were impressed from the very start! For a busy Wednesday night, the wait was only about 10 minutes, and once seated, we were immediately struck by how charming and stylish the décor was. Casual yet chic, perfect for an intimate dinner, small celebration, or gathering with friends. Service was also excellent. Taylor was our server, and the entire waitstaff did an amazing job keeping everything seamless throughout the night. We started with the Lychee Shrimp, which ended up being a standout dish. The shrimp was super fresh, light, and crispy, and the bursts of lychee throughout the plate paired surprisingly well. I'd never had shrimp with lychee before, but it worked so beautifully that I'd happily order it again. We also tried the Chicken Satay, which was savory, smoky, and perfectly juicy, wasn't dry at all. The cucumber relish sauce paired especially well with it. For mains, we shared the Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Panang Curry. The Pad Thai was excellent, the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, never mushy, and carried a nice smoky flavor, while the beef was tender and flavorful. The Chicken Panang Curry had a wonderful, slightly spicy flavor with just the right amount of kick. I do wish there had been a bit more chicken in the dish, but the sauce itself was so delicious that it was still a hit. We paired our meal with the Morakot cocktail, which was balanced and refreshing, not overly strong on the vodka, which made it easy to enjoy alongside the food. Dessert was the cherry on top: the Blueberry Cheesecake. Honestly, it exceeded expectations and was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Smooth, creamy, not overly tart, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that melted right in your mouth, the perfect ending to the night. Overall, Lemongrass Brooklyn is an absolute gem. Between the inviting atmosphere, thoughtful service, and incredible food, this is a spot I'd highly recommend to anyone. Can't wait to come back on our next trip to New York! read more

My first time here at lemon grass! I've had this place bookedmarked instantly for my NYC trip, and have heard good things from coworkers. Instantly I love the atmosphere. It reminded me of a honey walnut shrimp with crispy chips at the bottom and lychee. It just worked. The shrimp were huge and bouncy and perfectly crispy covered in their sauce. Their sauce wasn't overly sweet , like others, it complemented the shrimp very well. Chicken skewers - I really enjoyed this dish. The chicken was still moist and had a good amount of char flavor. I love the two dipping sauces either vinegar sauce or peanut sauce. My favorite was the vinegar sauce. Panang curry w/ chicken - ooo this was spicy but a good level spicy. I think the spiciness helped give another depth of flavor. The panang curry was well done flavors with curry and coconut. Pad Thai w/ beef - I'm never a fan of pad Thai. But I was a fan of this pad Thai. The noodles were perfectly al dente, and it had some texture. I think the pad Thai had a great combination of crunch to go with it from the fresh veggies. I'll say that the food was okay, it's hard to find really bad Thai food. It wasn't mind blowing, but the green curry and fried rice were fine. But the atmosphere and chaotic service made it impossible to enjoy dining here. It's like the owners don't like their own clientele, posting a security guard at the front like I need a TSA screening just for the privilege of a mediocre dinner. And then the service...YIKES.
