Vegan Hajji
Jeffrey G.

This has to be one of the best vegan burger spots I've had personally. From how everything is seasoned to the texture. The vegan hajji didn't taste exactly like a chopped cheese but the crispy exterior and seasoned 60/40 patty was really good. If I was vegan that would be my go to because I enjoyed it. I recently came from Toronto and was craving poutine, so I got the messy tots. The gravy wasn't as salty as regular poutine gravy but it came together well. The tots were seasoned good and the spices were hitting. Their sauce game is not play with. They have a wide variety of sauces to try. Shout to my guy at Fat Boys. Service was on point. It's the perfect size for where it's at in bk. Small spot where you could take out or enjoy your burger inside.

Just had the worst experience ever here. I came in and stood at the front counter for 15 minutes and nobody acknowledged me. I literally had to ask these dudes. Are they working and can I place an order and they say "oh, yeah" they were talking on their phones while playing in their hair making people food. They even messed my order up and I didn't realize it until I left even though I was very specific. Imagine if I was Keith Lee and this was my experience. This place sucks never again.

I finally remembered to take pictures of my burger before demolishing it! I've now had Fatboy's six (6) times and they've never missed! Not only are the burgers consistently bomb but so are the tots and the customer service! I've only had the 60/40 blend burger patty which, in terms of consistency, reminds me of a smash burger. The flavor is always great. The toppings are fresh and the sauces are thoughtful and well executed. Now the tots!! Whether they're thotty, messy or plain, baby they are always fried to perfection! And the cheese sauce!?!? I'll be going back for dinner again tonight! Everything is super satisfying without the guilt on the side. Thank you for existing Fatboys!

I just so happen to see this place on Yelp, and i decided to try it out. It wasn't bad. I went with my cousin and we ordered 2 burgers, i can't remember the names of them. One was a double patty, with vegan cheese and tots. It came with a lot of fixings, and mine was a single patty topped with vegan chicken tenders smothered in bbq sauce. I also got a side of tots and the ranch. We also ordered a Snapple and a flavored seltzer water. Tbh, the burger was good. However, it did have a weird aftertaste. I'm not sure what that was, but it wasn't pleasant at all. The ranch was kinda watery and without flavor. Those are the only negatives. We got the 60/40 Pattie's. The burgers were good. They tasted like real burgers, the cheese was melted and nice, and again, all the fixings. My tenders were okay. Couldn't tell it wasn't chicken (without the weird aftertaste) but, all in all, I'll go back and try them again. I'm looking to expand my vegan ways. So burgers are always a great way to go. If you're in the hood, check them out. It's a bit pricey tho. Our meals were about $22 each. (Yikes). Not really cheap, a little over priced, but okay i guess. Lol See pics below

Delicious food and great service. The burgers on the secret menu stood out to me. Whether you are vegan or not this is a must visit in Brooklyn, NY. Get the golden fb burger to start off and get something new each time.

We finally made it to Modern Love. It's been on my list for years now because Isa Chandra is like…read morethe OG vegan chef. We happened to get there during brunch for our first visit, which was great because it was a mix of both lunch and breakfast options. We split one main dish from each part of the menu. The Tofu Benedict was the best Benedict I've ever eaten IN MY LIFE, and also top three best breakfasts I've ever had. The smoked tomato is what makes that dish extra special. The rosemary home fries on the side were also incredible and I'm really picky when it comes to potatoes. We also split the Chickpea Parm sandwich but I was so full that I ended up taking a majority of my half sandwich home. Which was perfect because it was even better cold! The Italian flavors mixed with the savory chickpea patty and the bitter greens was just perfect. The only thing that wasn't great (not docking any stars for this) was dessert. We ordered the Strawberry "Tiramisu." I'm putting Tiramisu in quotes because I detected no espresso and no cinnamon. It was super bland. I let my husband eat most of it. Would not order that again. I am looking forward to returning! The wait staff were really friendly, the ambiance was super pretty, and food came out super fast and hot. Perfection.

Warm atmosphere, a strong selection of vegan food and drinks, and the kind of place that made the evening feel special without trying too hard. It's since closed, and from what I understand it wasn't about the food or the love from regulars, it was the brutal economics of running a sit-down restaurant in a delivery-and-takeout world. Nine years of serving genuinely great vegan comfort food in Williamsburg, done in by margins rather than quality. That's a rough way for a good restaurant to go. If you ever got to eat here, you know what was lost. If you didn't, I'm sorry you missed it.

I was a little disappointed to see the skirt steak from my first visit was no longer available, but that quickly disappeared once I tried the mofongo. The mofongo had bits of tempeh bacon mixed throughout and was topped with oyster mushrooms. The plantain was sweeter than the traditional green plantain mash I'm used to, but I actually loved that twist. The oyster mushrooms were seasoned so well they reminded me of chicharrón, while the tempeh bacon added the smoky, savory element that mofongo traditionally gets from pork cracklings. What really tied the dish together was the creamy coconut curry, which gave it a delicious Caribbean-inspired twist. The entire dish was creative, comforting, and incredibly flavorful. I'll definitely be back again soon.

HAAM had been on my must-visit list for over two years, so I was excited to finally check it out. The real highlight of my visit was Ajaya. She was both my hostess and server, and her hospitality was outstanding from start to finish. She recommended the empanada appetizer, which was absolutely delicious, and a refreshing drink made with sorrel, tamarind, and lime juice that was easily one of the best things I had all day. If management sees this, please recognize Ajaya. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable. For my entrée, I ordered the steak and rice. The vegan steak itself was impressive--the chuck-style texture was spot on and really satisfying. Unfortunately, the rest of the plate didn't quite match it. The steak was only warm, the rice and beans were barely warm, and the chimichurri lacked the bright, flavorful punch I was expecting. On the bright side, the sweet plantains arrived piping hot, perfectly caramelized, and were easily the standout on the plate. After waiting more than two years to visit, the food didn't quite live up to the anticipation. That said, Ajaya's service absolutely did. She was the star of the show, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

Food: - Dancehall Burger- sounded interesting but the maduros were a miss. would have been better with avocado and bacon. the slut sauce made this burger. onions were grilled but not caramelized. overall it was a solid burger. - Hollywood Hooker: massive but kind of bland? the texture was spot on for a philly chopped sandwich. but no slut sauce :( get the burger - eggrolls: philly cheesesteak egg roll. it was popular. Solid choice. i couldnt tell it wasnt beef. i added sweet chilli sauce to it which added some spice. - Fries: one batch was hot, crunch, perfectly cooked and had great seasonings. the other batch was soggy and was likely sitting out. if you get the fries fresh its worth it.
