    So many choices
    Cin C.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but tried out a couple cookies when my friends were looking for dessert. We got 6 cookies to share between 3 people, and that may have been too ambitious for us (even though they were delicious). Should probably have gotten 3, but there were too many choices to pick from! We got the Poptart, Mistachio (macho pistacho), ooh Bae (ube), Campfire (smore), Thai Milk Tea and CookiexCookiexCookie. We liked the interesting creative flavors, especially the weirder ones. Thai Milk Tea had the exact tea herb flavor that you would expect from a strong milk tea. Ube was not too sweet, while CookiexCookiexCookie was a sugar high. Pretty sure you can find a flavor no matter your preference. Loved the texture, as they had a soft gooey center with a slight crispy outer shell.

I've been waiting for years to try this cookie place, and it DID NOT disappoint! The cookies are incredibly soft and moist, with just the right amount of chewiness. If I ever get the chance to visit again, there's no doubt I'll be back here. Take my money! If you're a cookie lover, you absolutely have to check this place out! 5/5 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We got a dozen cookies and received a free cookie! We tried all the flavours they had that day. Everything was so good. Massive size, not too sweet, great texture. Service was quick and friendly. No seats available inside. And they were constantly busy for good reason! Will return for sure!

If you're looking for some ooey gooey bomb cookies this is the place for you. Their cookies are so delicious super gooey on the inside and a little bit crispy on the edges, definitely what I look for in a cookie! Ive tried most of their flavours but the one thats really got me coming back for more is their ube cookie (Ooh Bae), its just that good, especially when you warm them up a little!

Good packaging except for lack of info

My husband and his coworkers were all gifted a box of cookies each from The Night Baker. He managed to eat only 2 of them before bringing the other 4 home. These were some SUBSTANTIAL cookies! Not only were they a good 5 or so inches in diameter, they were THICC and seriously heavy! Good sign. I was disappointed to see only a business card insert that simply said to go look up their website to find out what flavours they were and what the ingredients are. Between being too lazy to do said lookup and wanting to just eat the cookies already, I hazard that the 4 flavours left were matcha white chocolate; some sort of caramel; blueberry (or ube?); and a variation on a chocolate chunk. The cookies are pretty tasty but for my taste, too heavy on the sweet side, and well ... just plain, too heavy. The outer texture had a crispy crunch and the insides were very dense. Of the 4 I could sample, the matcha white chocolate agreed with me best. It was a little lighter and I could taste the white chocolate pieces. The others sort of merged into a mixed blend of flavours that made it hard to discern the highlights. Apart from the missing information that would have been super useful, the packaging is decent and showcases the cookies nicely. Makes for a nice gift presentation. I wouldn't go out of my way for these but I can appreciate that they are a good quality product, and would be happy to share again for a friend to try.

Picked up 6 different cookies to try and some were good, some not so much. We enjoyed the Thai milk tea, cinnamon bun and mocha chip which all had a distinct flavour that lived up to its respective names. Otherwise the oo-bae didn't have that signature coconut-y ube flavour, the black sesame flavour in the mooncookie was good but the salted egg yolk flavour was lost, and the mistachio didn't have a good balance between matcha and pistachio (matcha heavy). The cookie textures are all great and service is friendly.

The Filipino flavours really set this bakery apart.

Deliciously thick and chewy cookies at such a lovely Danforth location! Voted #1 Best New Bakery/Best Cookies in Toronto in the 2019 BlogTO survey, and featured in Foodism, Taste Toronto, Canada Takeout, and Narcity, too! While they have really solid flavours that even the pickiest kids will love (ie. Milk n' Oreos, Campfire S'mores), go ahead and try the Filipino flavours like Food for the Gods (Skor toffee bits, dates and walnuts), Sans Rival (almond cashew cookie with cashew cream filling), and Ooh Bae (purple yam cheesecake cookie with ube jam filling). These delectable flavours set this bakery apart for sure. Tip: They also have coffee, but if you're looking for tea, pair these cookies with the incredible teas you can get across the street at Tsaa-- a family-owned Filipino cafe that's been a Danforth favourite for years! Perfect combination right there; you're welcome!

Top: Beggos and Key Lime Pie Middle: Ooh Bae and Summer Passion Bottom: Thai Milk Tea and Blueberry Cheesecake

East-enders, rejoice! The best cookies in the city are in town! I've been a longtime fan of the ooey gooey soft and chewy Night Baker cookies. Their new location is right smack in the middle of the Danforth... which makes it a delectably deadly treat as a mid-walk snack or after-meal treat. NB has their staple cookies (must-trys include Ooh Bae and Campfire Smores) and a rotating cast of seasonal flavours. The current seasonal ones are very summery - summer passion (guava and passion fruit), key lime pie, thai milk tea, beggos (nutella and wafer crisps), and blueberry cheesecake. And they have a weekend-only cookie, the Biggie, which is a huge chocolate chip cookie with Valrhona chocolate and sea salt. Two things I love most about Night Baker: 1) I know some people prefer their cookies firmer and crispier... and those people are crazy. Night Baker cookies are the way to go - always soft, chewy and borderline like cookie dough. 2) The owners are amazing. They were previous chemists who are now fulltime bakers. So they carry with them that experimentation bent, which leads to an amazing rotation of flavours throughout the year. But more than that, they seem like genuinely good people, as they constantly use their social media platform to not only promote themselves but other businesses around them. Kudos for that! As you can see, I'm a huuuuuge Night Baker fan, and this second location hopefully allows more people to experience how good their offerings are. As their logo says, "Eat Cookie, Be Happy"!

So a little birdie told me that these cookies were better than Craig's cookies... and I laughed. NO WORD OF A LIE - These are the greatest cookies i've EVER HAD. Please, come to Markham... PLEASE. These were so delicious. We only bought 2 because I was skeptical, but what a mistake that was... I NEED MORE. I'm getting a dozen next time. Maybe 2 dozen.. 5/5

Had the pleasure of coming by Night Baker just as a batch of freshly-baked cookies was ready, and they were amazing! Each cookie is huge, with lots of filling on the inside. They have a lot of unique Asian-inspired flavours, such as matcha pistachio and a coconut pandan. All the flavours were tasty and balanced. The cookies themselves were super soft, almost too soft, though that could be because they had just came out of the oven. Night Baker definitely has some of the best if not THE best cookies in Toronto! Highly recommend checking them out.

A welcome, but dangerous and addicting, addition to the Danforth. Cookies are soft and moist, and the selection of cookies are unique. Ooh Bae is my favourite, but they're all good!

Matcha pistachio, sesame salted egg, pumpkin spice, Halloween candy Mashup, & pandan.

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
