The receptionist tried to help and put me on the phone with his manager Michael who then said there was nothing he could do other than reschedule the appointment to several hours later because there was only one provider and one room available and that provider had a meeting to attend at 11 or 11:30am. In the time it took to wait to speak to someone and have that conversation they could have been well into the appointment seeing her. But more importantly it is disgusting and disgraceful they would turn away an 86 year old in terrible pain and struggling to walk over a few minutes and a meeting. And maybe Michael the manager was constrained by policies enforced by his superiors, I am not necessarily blaming him, thoughI was told it was up to him. Even in our system where healthcare is a business, I've never come across that kind of total disregard for an elderly patient's care and well being. Total lack of decency. First, I would see Dr. Chimes for half an hour and I swear he would deeply massage a sore spot for 15-20 seconds then take TWO MINUTES of notes after. Maybe this cycle would repeat 3-4 times. Then he'd put electrified acupuncture needles in my back and leave. Numerous times I asked him what he was writing and he said he took detailed notes. It was SO WEIRD. Second, the whole time he would treat you he would complain mercilessly about how hard his life is with his family and working with the NY Yankees. Third, as I wasn't getting any better, during my last two visits he outright yelled at me that there's nothing he could do.
