What happened next is why I'm warning other women in particular before you consider hiring them. On July 8, 2026, a Move For You crew parked their truck in a way that fully blocked vehicle access for two buildings, with zero advance notice to residents. When I politely asked a crew member to move it so I could get into my own lot, one employee -- a young man in a white shirt -- became visibly hostile. After finally moving the truck only enough to leave a narrow gap, he walked directly up to my moving vehicle as I drove through it, closing the space further, and aggressively pumped his chest and head toward my car -- the unmistakable body language of a man trying to intimidate a woman into backing down, or worse. I was driving home from a doctor's appointment with an elderly neighbor in the car, who witnessed this entire exchange. This was not a miscommunication. This was an adult man, employed by this company, choosing to physically intimidate a woman alone in her own parking lot because he was asked to move his own truck. I have photos of him and the vehicle, and I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau, and Chicago Police. If this is how their employees behave when mildly inconvenienced, think carefully before letting them into your home, your building, or anywhere near your family. The movers called to say they'd be a few minutes late because of truck issues, but they more than made up for that time by working quickly. They sent 5-6 people to help with our huge move (finally, a company that understands how to staff large moves!), were prepared to handle some very heavy and oddly shaped items, and were extremely proactive and patient with helping me figure out where to put some furniture in smaller spaces in my new house. We had everything taken apart and they came in and wrapped everything in plastic and loaded it onto their truck. At the new location they had to go up quite a few steps and too tight turns for the bedrooms and they made it look easy. They were absolutely a pleasure to work with. I reached out to several other companies back in February when I purchased a very heavy, vintage stove that needed to be picked up and delivered. I received a wide range of quotes, Maciej fell in the middle of the range. What won me over and has given a customer forever was his empathy and respect. I got sick immediately after getting the quotes. After 4 days of being in a delirious Covid brain fog, I sent emails to every company letting them know I wouldn't be able to get back to them immediately and the move wouldn't happen until around the end of March. The other companies sent me back messages like "Book with me!" "Are you ready?" "Did you see my quote?" One called me every day, sometimes twice a day. I had a 103 fever, I didn't even know the day of the week. Maciej immediately replied with wishes to get better soon and that whenever I was feeling better, he would be available to help. He followed up after a week with just a simple message, "I hope you are feeling better." His compassion, his patience, and his kindness told me all I needed to know about how he would treat my belongings. I finally had a pick up date, quickly communicated with Patriot Moving and set up the pick up time. It was all so easily done by email and text. They moved a vintage 1951 Chambers Model C stove for me. The stove is solid, as in over 450lbs solid! It is made of cast iron, enamel, and insulation all tightly packed within a 38" wide stove. It's a big, heavy beast which needed to be moved from an old 1880's apartment high-rise in the city. This meant narrow doorways and narrow spaces, smaller elevators, and lots of lifting. Patriot Moving showed up a little early and prepared for the move! We communicated mostly by email and text, never having a chance to speak by phone. He provided a COI right away as requested for by the owner. The team showed up prepared with everything for the move including tools to remove a door. They treated my stove and the residence with white glove service care. My stove was carefully wrapped tightly with stretch film to present anything from falling out or shifting. I removed most parts, but there were some that couldn't be removed. The moving team asked for permission when they needed to remove something, completely explaining their process and what to anticipate. They used plenty of moving blankets and covers to keep the home protected as well as the stove. They delivered right away and moved it in carefully, positioning it exactly where we needed it. Ensured that everything was just right, made sure we had all the parts removed and was ready to put everything back on for us. From the moment I reached out for a quote to the minute they finished the move and left, I received nothing short of excellent service! The stellar response and care for my stove was incredible! We were moving into a duplex-up with no elevator, so there were a lot of stairs and some pretty heavy furniture, but they handled it without any issues. It was also a very hot day, and the stairs were outside, which made the job even more challenging. They showed up on time, worked hard all day, and were very careful in wrapping all the furniture to protect the edges. They were also easy to work with and kept a positive attitude, even with all the stairs and the heat. Moving is never fun, but they made it a lot less stressful. I'd definitely hire them again and would recommend them to anyone, especially if you have a move with lots of stairs.
