I love the pastelitos here-- my favorite! I get them with the bean-spinach filling, ask for spicy salsa and of course eat with the curtido and salsa roja from the topping bar. Came with orange sauce and pickled cabbage carrot onion in a sandwich bag. I got my food to go and it was packaged nicely and still sizzling hot when I got home. It was grilled to order. And it was fresh. The cheese they used was delicious but my compliments stop there. I think i understand why so many of the reviews get the original cheese and bean. The accompaniments added nothing. The orange sauce didn't add to the meat pupusas but with the bean and cheese it was nice. The pickled vegetables added nothing it was just too strong. The flavor was boring. Just not enough of something. I needed more flavor and pizazz. Also even tho it's a 3 for $10 deal it's $2 extra for the Deluxe so I paid $13.74 for 3. Not happy. They have a curtido (fermented cabbage) and salsa station but being the first time there the lady at the register didn't bother to tell me to grab some beforehand. And they give you no containers for it. You either have to walk your whole ah plate to the station which is in a crowded area or you can use the little tiny plastic cups they have and wish for the best. The orchata I had taste like rice milk even tho it has other nuts in it I didn't taste the difference to a Mexican horchata and it's too much cinnamon for me. read more

So my girlfriend had to pull cash out to pay somewhere close by on a very busy road and time of day (5 pm monday). I stayed to wait, but while i was , i went outside for fresh air and the workers WENT TO FOLLOW ME OUT. So they jumped to conclusion that i was going to steal. And were watching me while i was on the phone and i have no clue wtf they were doing, but they were heavily suspicious and , disappointingly distrusting. I wasn't going to leave this review until that point!!! but as i write this another thing happened... this black lady came in (after systems shut down) and the worker denied her of take out or dine in. Service was good and fast Pupusas 100% recommended the problem I found at Hispanic restaurants is when they are trying to do two different cultures in one place is supposed to be Salvadorian food and they have Colombian and Dominican food I order a Gallina Soup and I got chicken soup the rice that came with. I even mentioned seeing their stand at a local farmers market to start a friendly conversation, but it didn't change anything. Our server never checked on us, never asked how our meal was, never even brought water or refills. We had to get our own silverware, which is ridiculous. Cash-Only Chaos & Being Treated Like a Thief Out of nowhere, their system shut down, and they suddenly required cash payments only--with no warning. We didn't have cash, so I had to leave to find an ATM while my boyfriend waited at the restaurant. 5 minutes after i left, my boyfriend stepped outside for fresh air and a quick phone call to tell me how close am I to pass the cash to give to them. The staff FOLLOWED HIM OUT like HE was about to dine and dash. The way they stared HIM down made it obvious they thought HE was trying to steal. WE had every intention of paying, and yet they treated US like a criminals. Blatant Discrimination As if everything else wasn't bad enough, I witnessed something that made me completely lose any remaining respect for this place. A Black woman came in wanting to order takeout or dine in, but the worker immediately denied her service without mentioning the cash-only option. She left frustrated after driving 40 minutes just to try the food. Then, just moments later, a white woman walked in for takeout, and the same worker offered her the option to pay with cash. The double standard was obvious and disgusting. Final Verdict - Stay Far Away Between nasty food, awful service, unprofessional and distrusting staff, and outright discrimination, this place is a complete embarrassment. Oh my goodness! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! This restaurant showed up on Yelp as a local place down the street. I took a look at their menu which was filled with many dishes I've always wanted to try. The choices are from varying areas in Latin America and the Caribbean. The wife and I ordered quite the spread. We got a Papusa and the "Mi Gente" plate which contained a few smaller portions of various dishes. We finished it off with a cheesecake type of desert. It was absolutely incredible! There wasn't a thing I didn't like and nothing was just average. Everything was extremely fresh, well-packaged and flavorful. I love super spicy things, but not for those who are heat sensitive. This was amazing. I found the vegan papusa to be a little dry and lacking in flavor. I dipped most of everything in the habanero salsa. The plantains were not my fav. Maybe having been to Puerto Rico as much as I have I am a huge fan of the sweetness in the island plantains.
