Ashley Sutton, the store manager, is extremely rude, aggressive and unprofessional. Today, I called…read moreto inform about the fact that the storage facility is extremely hot. I also recalled that this is a reoccurring issue and that back in May , she was made aware of it. Ashley responded by asking " do you own a home?" then suggested that I should stop renting out of this location, where I have been for several months. Another tenant, named Susan, was present during my call with Ashley and could be heard complaining about the extreme heat, just like I did. During our phone interaction, Ashley was on speaker phone and other Tenants witnessed her extremely unprofessional and rude behavior ( she kept on talking over me). Susan, the other Tenant, was so offended by the manner in which Ashley Sutton spoke to me, that she went to the office and informed Matthew Lunstrum. Ashley referred to me, the paying Client as: " Hon" and in a condescending manner suggested that I should take my patronage to a different company. Clearly, Ashley forgot that the agreement that I signed states that these storage units are supposed to be climatized and free of pests. She's selling these units as " climate controlled" but that's False. Back in May when I noticed the lack of climate adjustment, Ashley lied and stated that it would get fixed. Today, she rudely responded that someone would get called but the issue will not be fixed on this date. If Ashley was a "homeowner" she would know that once the HVAC SYSTEM is fixed / a Tech is in fact called ; the lack of climate adjustment issue doesn't keep on occuring.

We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

CubeSmart of Frederick has locked my storage unit ('overlocked') and cut off gate access when my…read morepayment is 5 days late, due to the loss of a visa card and its replacement. I checked my lease, and it clearly states they cannot add a late fee until 15 days past due - my due date is the 12th. I called the local office, and no one answered. I then called their national office, and the representative told me they do not include it in the leases, but that when their stores assess a late fee, they can override and deny access. However, no late fee can be assessed at this point per my lease. It states that a storage fee can be assessed only after the fee is 15 days past due. I called the local store again, and they said they have a different regional policy, but have not provided it. I am specifically in Frederick to sell items from this storage, and my time to handle this is limited. CubeSmart also raised the rent by 30% within two or three months of my move-in and discarded a storage bag on a cart while I was retrieving my other cart. The office was closed, so I was unable to speak to them, but they sent me a message saying they threw away my 'trash." They are unbelievably rude and aggressive. Another item: I was moving multiple items to meet an Uber and took the cart to the pickup point just outside the gate when a rude woman approached and demanded, "Why is this cart outside the gate?" I said, obviously, I was moving things to Uber - there was no information on the gate that said you could not load a car outside the gate. There is also nowhere to dispose of trash at this facility. Worst service ever, rude people, who deliberately try to be rude when they could just be normal.
