I am staying at the harrahs and decided that I was going to order in. I believe something was wrong with the app cause 48.00 for a breakfast sandwich was crazy! so I looked up The menu decided to go into this location mainly cause I saw the all you can eat buffet for 25.00. It was about a 20 Minute wait which wasn't bad cause it gave me time to look at the pool and come back. On my way waking to the host station , they have a nice little gift shop and sweet shop inside. I get seated right by the buffet. I am so glad they did! The selection was NOT that great for 25.00. It looked like they had a made to order cook for eggs and hash brown but I think she had to do both cause no one was there. I decided to tell my waiter I'd just like to place an order to go. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon on white toast and American cheese. My toast was burnt :(. I ordered the hash brown casserole.. I made a reservation for the morning of our last day at the Harrah's Cherokee casino. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted and everyone was friendly. We were seated almost immediately, with great views of the creek. The place is bigger than I thought it would be inside with a connected gift shop near the entrance. The menu had all our favorites, with both sweet and savory options. The Mrs. decided to go with the French Toast topped with fresh fruit from the menu while I decided to visit the breakfast buffet. At Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort for 3 days. I've been excited to try the Grilled Balsamic Portobello MushroomSandwich from Selu. I placed an order via room service through the website. Had a special request which was addressed perfectly. My order arrived promptly in about 20 min. This sandwich is delicious! Definitely bring your appetite as it is a very filling sandwich. It's made with two large portobello caps, topped with Roasted Red Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Hummus and Arugula, served on a Brioche Bun with Fries that were salted just right. I was only able to eat half of my sandwich. A delicious option for those wanting a vegetarian or lighter type of cuisine. Highly recommend and would absolutely order again! read more

Is it me??? I usually like this place, and the food is good, but I just had an odd experience. I ordered eggs, bacon, English muffin toasted with butter, and fruit. After about 15 minutes, the food arrived. I noticed only half the English muffin was buttered and politely asked for more butter. It took six minutes for the butter to arrive. During those six minutes, I realized the eggs, bacon, and English muffin were barely lukewarm. When there waitress came back, I explained this to her (nicely), and she said, "I'll put it in the microwave." "You'll put it in the microwave? No. I'm out." I left. She will put it in the microwave? Am I missing something? WTH? I'm baffled. I think she was pissed that I was interrupting her social time on the job. She only had one other table and it took six minutes to get butter. Is it me or is this bad service? I didn't want to get her in trouble so I left instead of asking for a manager. read more

Very Yummy!! I just ate here with my grandbabies, Charlie Lou (The oldest) and Anne Marie (The youngest and my favorite). We were out on our evening stroll when hunger struck me like a semi-truck. Haha. We sat down and i ordered a good ol' coca cola for me and my grandbabies (Don't tell their mama, they ain't allowed to have sugar)! However, when we got our pops, the amounts of ice cubes were overwhelming. I felt as though God struck us with an ice storm!!! Praise be His name that this is not the Final Judgement, however it is the beginning of my Hell. We are religious folks here and do not believe in the grave sin of Gluttony. There are poor people in this world and I don't want to take too much ice from them. Anyways, the food was good. Great for breakfast. The buffet is small but has great options and an omelette chef. It's right on the river connected to the casino. Nicely decorated with river rocks on the wall. The entrance is a store with some interesting and eclectic items. They also have a menu to order from but I always go for the buffet. read more

The food options at the Cherokee resort are painfully inadequate. I had lunch at the Selu Garden Café today. I had wings and a burger. The wings made me feel sorry for the pigeons that gave their lives for them. The wings were tiny and not very meaty. They were well seasoned, but they were well below the level I expect for $10 for 6 wings. The onion rings were OK, maybe a little bit undercooked. The burger was disappointing for the price. It wasn't a very big burger, but it was well cooked. I was enjoying it until I had to spit out the second chunk of gristle in the burger. I would think the resort like Harrah's could get better quality food for their restaurants. It just seems they're cutting corners and getting bargain food and putting it out as high quality fare. read more

I went for breakfast with friends this morning (Monday). It was not crowded at all. The restaurant was clean, and the employees were pleasant. The food, however, was mediocre. My friends had the buffet and coffee. The omelets were good, but the grits and the biscuits were BAD. (The grits were bland and runny, and the biscuits were dry and dense.) Shame on any restaurant in the South that doesn't have good grits and biscuits. I ordered pancakes. They were undercooked. When I cut them into them, raw dough oozed out. Yuk. When the server (who did a good job), brought the next batch of pancakes out, the top one was fine but the two underneath were scorched. Well, at least they were not raw in the middle! The worst part was the price. $70 before tip. If breakfast were really good, then I wouldn't have minded, but $70 for our experience was a bit insulting. If you have a car and the time, leave the property for your meals. read more

They serve a buffet to 11am and it's pretty good. The omelette station is good and we timed it right as the line was short. The cook was friendly and moved things a long quickly. The items on the buffet are your normal breakfast items. They were hot and good flavor. They do a good job of keeping the line fresh. Selu Cafe also offers a full menu of delicious offerings; appetizers to burgers, breakfast all day, sandwiches, with dinner entrees of seafood, chicken, and steak... finishing with special desserts. Everything reads fantastic and looks scrumptious. The cafe also offers a variety of areas for seating and a full bar, just in case you feel the need of a liquid meal. My favorite spot is a booth next to the gentle flowing stream over river rocks with splendid flowers alongside for a relaxing and beautiful view. Such a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of the casino. After rushing in to dine, we took our time perusing through the quaint storefront shop, which is full of fun & really cool kitchen utensils, tools, cute dish ware and linens. Love this café. First, the service is always excellent. Elise is a superior server, and we are always excited to see her there. The breakfast buffet has a great variety of options from pastries to granola to yogurt to omelettes to bacon, potatoes and more. They also have a menu that you can order from. If you are staying at Harrah's, this is probably your best bet for breakfast if you don't want to leave the property. Actually, there is not much else. You must scan a QR code with your phone to see the menu. Once you figure it out, it's not a big deal. The service may be friendly, but a little slow. The food was pretty solid. I had biscuits and gravy with bacon and hash browns. There is a choice between hash browns and cheesy hash, which sounds good, but the server said it had peppers in it, so I passed. My wife's pancakes were enormous. The one thing that stood out was the coffee. Both my regular and the wife's decaf were extremely bitter and almost undrinkable. The check was pretty steep for breakfast, but you have to expect that at a place like this. read more

First off I love French Onion Soup. When the chef's choice was French Onion, you know I am ordering it. My other option was Corn Chowder... Nope! Not ever going to eat that. The Onion soup was GREAT! For my meal, I was looking forward to the Prime Rib. My option was Medium Well or Well. My choice is Medium Rare. So I opted out of the Prime Rib. Darn! I ended up getting the Beef Stroganoff. I always go here for breakfast when I am at the Cherokee casino. I recommend the buffet with omelet station. The monthly lunch specials are always good too.
