    Quarter sandwich and gumbo.
    Vicki D.

Went while walking through the French Quarter. I had a quarter of the Muffaletta sandwich and a side of the gumbo. The waiter was very nice, he seemed very seasoned and was good at upsellng the meal. The sandwich was very good, but came out too fast. I felt like it was kind of like a factory. They must be busy everyday, and they have the food waiting to be shipped out to the mouths in waiting. Felt, good, but too touristy. Although, the atmospjere was nice. They must be doing something very right, for them to be so busy, so I should probably quit while Im ahead. I just felt, it was too cookie cutter, the way everything was served. Anyway, its still a good stop, especially for the muffaletta sandwhich and conveniently located spot in a historic building.

This is another historic landmark and very much recommended place to dine. The Muffaletta sandwich is their key sandwich that everyone must have. The best! Try to get an inside table as the patio tables do not get the AC. Service is above average...but it's a great place and a must site to visit.

Alligator sausage, pâté, salami, blue cheese, Irish porter cheese, smoked gouda, housemade tomato jam, crostini so good a must when here

Our experience at the Napoleon House was fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere was classic New Orleans--historic, charming, and full of character service was alright. In all fairness it was a busy night. We started with the charcuterie board featuring alligator sausage, pâté, salami, blue cheese, Irish porter cheese, smoked gouda, cornichons, tomato jam, Creole mustard, and crostini, and everything was flavorful and perfectly paired. The warm Italian Muffuletta was another highlight, loaded with ham, Genoa salami, pastrami, Swiss, provolone, and olive salad on fresh seeded Italian bread. Absolutely delicious and a must-try when visiting. To finish, we had the Chocolate Doberge Cake, which was rich, decadent, and the perfect ending to the meal. Great food, unique ambiance, and authentic New Orleans charm. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the city.

Me and my Fiancée came to this restaurant looking for authentic New Orleans cuisine and we were not disappointed the finger foods were amazing.I had what tasted like a cross between ham and cheese melt with homemade bread and my fiancée had the gulf shrimp po-boy they both were great. The restaurant itself transports you to the 1900s with a French style that makes you feel like you're in France .

While we did have to wait in line, they definitely have efficiency down, because we didn't have to wait long, and out food came out just as fast. Our server was fantastic. He made great recommendations on good and serving sizes. Our meal was one of the most affordable ones of our trip, and it tasted great, too! The flatbread was very rich, but the toppings were very generous with lots of seafood and cheese. I thought the red beans and rice were fantastic, and the mufflada was great as well. We got the jambalaya was a little bit dry and was not as flavorful as it could have been. We would still go back because everything else was good.

    Shrimp Po boy

After a long day of traveling to get to this wonderful city, Napoleon House was the perfect first bite of New Orleans that I needed. I heard good things about their take on the muffaletta, and boy was everyone right. This was absolute warm, cheesy, and perfectly balanced on the most perfect roll. Definitely will be coming back before I leave to get my hands on a full because the quarter that I ordered only left me for wanting more of it. Also a star was their gumbo, absolutely outstanding in a city where everyone serves it. Otherwise, a side of jambalaya was good but next time I'd pass on the shrimp Po boy. Though the shrimp had a nice breading and was cooked perfectly, it definitely felt lackluster and underwhelming compared to the stars of night. For drinks the dark and stormy was made perfectly and the OG pimms that they are known for was light and refreshing. Service was excellent as Abby was attentive, engaging and went above and beyond to answer any questions we had. Can't wait for that return trip.

Crawfish, shrimp with cheese and garlic on a flatbread roasted

Flavor of New Orleans.. we had lunch in the courtyard and then it was relaxing and the right perfect temperature. March in New Orleans is the right time to visit, it's not too hot and not muggy yet. We had the Pimms flight, where we tasted three different types of Pimms cocktails. I enjoyed the strawberry Pimms cocktail the best, and my wife she loved the cucumber, ginger and Pimms cocktail. If you've not had Pimms Cocktails before get the flight of three and figure out which one you like the best. Y'all won't be disappointed. For lunch, we had the shrimp and avocado salad, and the crawfish and shrimp flatbread. A blend of crawfish, shrimp, garlic, butter, cheese roasted on a flatbread. It was excellent. The service was good, The food came out quickly, and was cooked to perfection. Will definitely stop back to Napoleon house.

We had the cutest, sweetest server that was entertaining and engaging. Old school space, very pub-like. We went specifically for Muffulettas and they did not disappoint. We over ordered because it was so damn good. Been dreaming of it for the past 2 weeks!

I knew I had to try a muffuletta while I was in NOLA! So I grabbed a group of friends and we headed over for lunch. We were sat at a cute corner table on the courtyard on a beautiful day. They had great cocktails, included special Pimm's cups and I enjoyed my drink. We had enough people to order a full muffuletta and I ordered a small side of jambalaya to try that as well! The muffuletta was a gorgeous centerpiece for our table! It was great to try, I loved the bread. I did expect a more meaty sandwich, but I guess that depends on where ya go. The olive tapenade and all the flavors of the sandwich went beautifully together. The side of jambalaya was very good as well! This spot is super cute, definitely worth a stop.

The first restaurant I went to when I came to Nola for the first time. I've heard great things about muffuletta and it did not disappoint! The Italian bread is so fluffy and while I'm normally not a fan of olives, I found their flavor to perfectly compliment the other pastrami and provolone-swiss flavors in the sandwich. I also tried the original Pim's cup, which was extremely refreshing, and did not skimp on the alcohol. Fantastic service and a really cool ambiance. Divey yet homely. Overall a great restaurant experience and introduction to the NOLA food scene.

Regular Pimm's cup and strawberry Pimm's cup
    Cynthia M.

We went here for lunch and sat at the bar because there was a wait for tables and they don't take reservations. I ordered the Pimm's cup with strawberry puree and my husband had a regular Pimm's. They were SO GOOD. These were our first Pimm's and then I learned this place is known for them and I can see why. I could've drank 3 of them. We shared a half muffuletta and a shrimp po boy and a side of potato salad. The muffuletta was phenomenal. Better than the one we tried in the french market. The po boy was just ok, nothing special and not that many shrimp on it. I wouldn't recommend it. The potato salad was very very good. The bartender was friendly and the service was SUPER fast. We would DEFINITLEY return here.

Great Muffaletta and Cubanos here!!! We came in to try their legendary Muffaletta on a weekday morning. Getting there about 5 mins before they opened, there was one couple in line in front of us waiting for them to open. Once they opened, we were immediately seated. They have a nice menu loaded with all the typical NOLA favs. We opted for a half order of their Muffaletta and a Cubano as well as a side of red beans & rice. Their red beans & rice was tasty! Nice texture and flavor. The Muffaletta was really good! Loved the warm, soft, fresh bread... I believe they make it there. The meats and the olive spread were so very fresh and tasty too. The Cubano was a fav as well... made so nicely and packed with flavor too. Their Cuban bread was spot-on as well. Service was great! The venue it made to look and feel dated, as if period and it definitely looked and felt that way. Pricing was decent. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Muffaletas are not my thing, but it was my friend's second time in NoLa and he hadn't had one yet so I said maybe I should revisit it since it's been years. Reddit told me the OG is cold, but it was pretty freezing in NoLa when we were there so we went with the hot version, and Reddit said Napoleon House was the best. We got a huuuuuge sandwich that we split, and I barely ate more than a quarter of it. It's actually pretty impressive you can buy a quarter of this sandwich for well under $10. I might have to do that on a solo trip in the future. I'm still not convinced about the muffaleta to be honest. It's a lot of bread and too many olives for my taste. But I will say this was way better than my memory of whatever muffaleta I had years ago. I see why people like it.

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The Apothecary was the cure. We grabbed seats mid bar and before we even finished settling in, there were waters waiting on the bar. That simple move already separated this place from the chaos outside. It's hospitality in its cleanest form: welcome in, take a breath, we got you. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on. Alchemist Elixir: pea flower gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon. It shows up pale violet with an orchid on the rim and yes it's pretty, but it's also disciplined.
