The coffee was good but the service could improve. I found it slightly off putting having to wait for the two cashiers to finish taking multiple selfies until they found one they liked before I could place my order for coffee. I have no issue with them taking pictures but personally would have appreciated if I could get my order through first. Location: Downtown George Street. It doesn't have a convenient spot to pull over so it's best to walk over if you live downtown or park in a nearby parking lot or if you can get a street parking off of George Street. The café: This has an open and large space. There's a good amount of tables and chairs and they're spread out throughout the café and on the second level. Food and drinks: I love getting the lady Matcha, but they have other coffee or specialty drinks/smoothies on their menu. I love to get the SOS or avocado sandwich. The milk bread is so fluffy and I love the kewpie mayo. Sometimes when you order to go or take away, it can get a little soggy, but I just pop it into the toaster oven. The sandwiches are around $9 and the Lady Matcha is $7. This is my go to splurge when I want to treat myself as when you order delivery through GrubHub/Yelp, it can cost almost $30! But for me it's totally woe My experiences: I've gone here during the summer and did a little bit of work. While they do have air conditioning, it was not ice cold, like typical coffee shops. So just keep that in mind in case you easily overheat. I think because the space is so open and long, heating and cooling can be all over the place. Staff is friendly and service has been good when I've ordered to go or dined in. I think they've created a nice community, which is always great to have at a local coffee shop. I tried Semi Colon for the first time today and OMG... it was amazing!!! I ordered The Shroom and it did not disappoint. It was loaded with mushrooms, arugula, eggs, and a balsamic vinaigrette with truffle sauce, all on perfectly toasted bread. The bread was super soft and seriously delicious. We were happy to have recently stumbled upon this deceptively big cafe, which has ample seating for relaxing and working. The only encouragement (not a complaint) is that Semicolon holds wells as a study spot, but not as much as a coffee spot. It's not hard for a cafe to have 10-15 different syrup flavors with which to flavor their coffees, however, we were a bit disappointed that there really weren't too many options here to choose from. Look at that latte!! I traveled here and this was one of the first places off of the train station that caught my attention. The latte was so good I can't really put it into words. Great ambiance and very roomy. I think it was nice, but the seating is uncomfortable throughout. It just does not really make me feel comfortable, especially for someone with back pain. Definitely feels like a place more suited for younger people without any chronic issues, and I rarely ever complain about that. That said, the food is good and the coffee is okay. There was limited parking because there's construction in New Brunswick but I was able to park in a garage on the next street over. The inside was really spacious and had a nice aesthetic to it with all the plants. There's a lot of space for people who want to work or study. When we walked in there was a sign that said the AC was broken which was disappointing since it was a really hot day! When we were ordering a lot of items were unavailable like matcha drinks and some of the pastries. I ordered the tiramisu latte and the ham and egg sandwich. The sandwich looks small but it was bigger than expected. I wish the bread was more toasted it was really soft and it made the sandwich itself kind of mushy. Other that that it was really good. They're perfectly layered so you get a little treat in every bite. They're generous with the topping to ice ratio, and it's a great price to boot. As long as they keep it the same I'll be dropping in regularly for a treat. It's pretty chill and nice to hangout, but the seats are a little awkward in the spacing.
