This cafe is located in the Riya Commons Shopping Center. They have a private parking lot and it's easy to find parking. It definitely gets busy on the weekends and throughout the day, but people come and go. Don't forget your reusable cup! I'm a bit of a Matcha snob and I've been drinking a lot of green tea lattes which is not the same as matcha. But the matcha here is legit! I've actually been here twice, and both times I ordered the Black Sesame Vanilla Latte, which has quickly become one of my favorite matcha lattes I've had. It was sweet, creamy, and umami. The last time I asked about their matcha, they shared that they use a blend of Okumidori and Saemidori cultivars from Kagoshima and Kyoto, Japan. for me, a good quality Matcha hits the umami note. (Like nori, but not salty). Matcha should not taste like grass. Earthy yes, but grass and bitter equals a low quality Matcha. Anyway, their black sesame vanilla latte is amazing. Truly, one of my favorite matches that I've consumed! The baristas are genuinely nice and friendly, the café has a cool, chic, aesthetic. We still love this place. The Matcha Einspanner with Black Sesame Vanilla is still one of my favorite drinks ever. I'm on a café tour and Manzil in Franklin park was my next stop The vibe is lively, peppy, bustling. The barista ~ Ahmad, ACTUALLY knew about his product. He told me the syrups for matcha are made in house and gave me lots of options to choose from . I chose Jasmine flavored Matcha which wasn't too sweet, but just right. 2nd time back at this spot. The matcha here is great! First time got it plain to experience the matcha flavor and second time got the black sesame for a bit of sweetness (not overpowering). As for the sandwiches, I've tried the katsu, pesto chicken, and tikka masala. The Katsu was by far my favorite. The pesto chicken was good too. The tikka masala isn't what I expected (was expecting tomato base), still good though. So pleasantly surprised by this cafe. They're conveniently located in a new strip mall with plenty of parking. The matcha is ceremonial grade and they offer dairy free milk. There are pastries and a few food options for purchase. The earl grey matcha is such a unique flavor combination. Husband got the iced mocha and we both agree it's the best mocha we've ever had! It's made in house and tastes like rich expensive chocolate. Not pictured was a warm butter croissant that was devoured before a picture was taken because it was so good. Reasonably priced for the quality. $8 for the specialty matcha with the up charge for oat milk. $6 for the iced mocha. $5 for the croissant. The interior is very cold and sleek with metal chairs but the pops of flowers in the table look great and light up the space. I visited Manzil around 9 PM on a Saturday night, and it was surprisingly quiet. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and wanted to get a honey cake, but I was initially told they were sold out. I picked a different dessert instead, only to find out later that there was actually one honey cake left after all. A quick double-check before saying an item is unavailable would have saved a little confusion (and would have gotten me to my honey cake faster!). That said, the iced vanilla latte was good, though I noticed there seemed to be quite a bit of room left at the top of the cup. I'm not expecting it filled to the brim, but it felt like there could have been a little more coffee for the price. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Overall, it was an okay experience. Doing that allowed me to try both. Their breakfast burrito was pretty yummy. But the chicken katsu sandwich was my overall favorite. This cafe is relatively small and isn't the biggest space so I can see how it can get busy. It may be a little crowded if there are a lot of people going to the café and seating is limited. Was hesitant to try this cafe bc of the steep pricing but when I finally went, I realized it was totally worth the hype. Drinks are mostly south Asian inspired and very carefully crafted by the baristas. I ordered a whipped sea salt honey - one of their newer drinks as part of a promotion and let me just say this is one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had at a Cafe. When the barista handed it to me he explained how to drink it for optimal taste and you could tell it was a clearly thought out drink. The long black coffee was perfectly smooth and not too sweet and complemented well by the whipped honey cream top that followed as the aftertaste. It didn't feel too heavy (I dislike drinks that feel like meals) and gave me a good buzz without being overly jittery. It was a unique drink experience and I'm still thinking about it!! I was very impressed with the service at Manzil. It is a newer location in South Brunswick and I have noticed it gets a good influx of people. The steel plays throughout the entire space including the walls, tables and chairs. It's ceremonial grade of the highest-quality. And the black sesame!! OMG! One sip and it totally took me back to how my mom used to make it, PURE BLACK SESAME! Both flavors came through equally. I like my matcha and black sesame (black color instead of grey) to be in its purest form. They make their own house-made syrups and that just takes it to another level. I have been to Manzil four times since it opened just a few weeks ago, and every single time it has been an absolute delight. I am always greeted by a kind a welcoming staff who always have smiles on their faces, and even remember my name. I have ordered a different drink and menu item each time, and have never been disappointed. Everything has been excellently prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. There is always good music playing, and the cafe is very clean with lots of seating options. It is my new favorite place, and I will be coming back again and again. To drink I got an Einspanner latte and on another visit I got their whipped sea salt honey, unfortunately I really didn't like their coffee much, it was really strong and lacked flavor so if you're into sweet coffee I wouldn't recommend, also the worker told me they couldn't modify the whipped sea salt honey coffee. My first time going I went to get some homework done but it doesn't really seem like the cafe for that as the music was very loud and it gets pretty busy. I'd say this place is better as a hangout spot. I'd probably go back for their food and to try some of their other coffees and see if I like those better. read more

So nice I had it twice! Stumbled upon this new cafe while I happened to be craving matcha and they did NOT disappoint. Firstly, regarding the below post about the matcha price increase, the cashier informed me that they ran out of their lower quality matcha so it would be a dollar more for the high end matcha (it would normally be $2 more). The passion fruit yuzu matcha tonic was very refreshing in today's heat. I even came back again later in the day to grab the chicken katsu sandwich for my husband (he said it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever had) and another matcha to save for the morning. Excited to try more menu items. They have vegetarian food options. Not sure whether baked items are vegan but there is oat milk alternative for drinks. Very cute vibes. I supported this business since the day they opened in South Brunswick. They have a nice calm ambiance inside the cafe. Friendly workers who put their customers first. I gave this review a one star because of the increase in price. The Earl grey matcha latte with oat milk was $8.53 after tax a week ago; the price jumped to $9.60 for a cup of matcha. They already charge a dollar more for the oat milk, so i am unsure how they decided to increase it $1.07 more. I believe that paying almost $10 for a cup of Matcha is out of this world. I have never payed that price anywhere for a matcha latte, not even in New York. They lost me as a customer which is unfortunate because I loved supporting this cafe. read more
