This coffee was delicious. Omgosh. I watched the employee make my iced latte FRESH from the espresso machine. & what a sweet young lady she was too! She engaged in conversation with me, as I am not from Jersey and helped me with the menu clarity. There is no parking lot here, but alot of street parking. Inside is very clean with a gender neutral bathroom and some cute decor. The prices are decent. Dessert pieces are a little pricey, but very big. They do have soo many sweet treats. They also have specialty turkish sweets and others such as cheesecake, dubai chocolate, parfaits & other things that I do not even know the name of. I wish i could try them all without getting cavities haha. When I come back to Jersey I will definitely be coming back to this cafe as it is a hot commodity to me! read more

Best coffee I've had in NJ!!! It was my first time trying this place despite attending Rutgers a couple years back! I wish I had tried this muchhhh sooner-- 1st time; Tried the Iced Caramel Voltage. It was sooo good, perfectly sweet and the quality of the coffee was well roasted. 2nd time; Tried the Iced Crème Brûlée Latte. Also very delicious, they mix vanilla powder into the milk and it's so flavorful! My friend tried the hot Biscoff Latte and also absolutely loved it-- Sooo many options on the menu and sweet treats to choose from (it can get overwhelming!) My only note is that they only had one person running the shop both times I visited and there was quite some traffic for one person to handle. A surprisingly new choice for weekend breakfasts. I may do the ethnic name a disservice, but their lamb hot pocket was seasoned to perfect and warmth with love. There is truly nothing I love more than a great, little cafe. Efes Cafe is on the list of go-to coffee stops when I am back in New Brunswick. They have lots of tables, strong wifi and a super relaxing vibe, making it a good spot for those looking to relax or get some studying/work done. And the tables section is somewhat separated from where you enter and order, so it really does have a pretty peaceful vibe about it. I've tried a few of their desserts and pastries (you can go to the OG Efes restaurant next door for actual food) and they were tasty. Coffees, teas and lates here have always hit the spot and been made well. My go to treat is a chai latte but the one I got here was way too sweet for my liking. If I get it again I will just have to make it a dirty chai and ask for the sweetness to be toned down a bit. Oat milk lattes and hot teas have always been so wonderful, hot or cold. Parking can be tough in this area, just a heads up! But if circle for a bit something always pops up eventually. I used to live right around the corner during my RU days and would have definitely made this a go-to study spot. Enjoy! read more

As a big fan of the grill next door, I was also happy to see this new little cafe open up. Serving traditional and modern desserts, this little coffee shop specializes in Turkish delicacies. I had a latte and my family got some assorted desserts and tea. Everything was very tasty. The cafe is very cozy with decent sitting and hangout areas. The staff speaks Turkish and they were very accommodating to us. Prices are pretty average. Only downside is parking but that is typical for New Brunswick. read more

Great spot on Eastern Ave for getting some work done over cold fragrant iced latte! I went during the week and while it was slightly busier in the AM, I was able to have my spot by the window for most of the workday. Nice assortment of pastries & free wi-fi! Parking is going to be a challenge but during weekday AM you should be fine. One interesting caveat is the fact that their restaurant next-door is NOT connected to the cafe so when I was trying to order food, I could not and had to go somewhere else for lunch (I wanted something other than mediterranean food), then come back again, order, and sit. A bit inconvenient but not a dealbreaker. Will stop by whenever I'm in the area again! read more

Conveniently located on Easton in downtown New Brunswick. Across from the Rutgers fitness center. Side street has a parking garage and plenty of metered parking. Metered parking is free before 8. Delicious drip coffee. Strong enough to be a functioning coffee but not bitter. Delicious pastries. Reasonably priced. $3 for a large coffee and $3-$4 for a pastry. I had an almond apple pastry. Crumbly dry almond pastry (in a good way) filled with apple filling and topped with almonds and powdered sugar. Not overpowering or too sweet. Tons of pastries and cakes available. Some of the pastries aren't available right away when they open at 7am, croissants came out on a fresh baking sheet around 8:30. I bought a chocolate croissant, custard fruit tart and a small fruit cake to go, with 20% tip those 3 items were $19. Had some issues using the square reader at the register but the girl was super nice and let me eat my food first and then come back after eating to pay. Turkish candies by the register. Chai concentrate available for purchase. Oat & almond milk available for $.75. Beautiful spacious sitting area. The nice part is that the register/ordering area is in a separate room from the seating so you don't have to deal with people just coming in for coffee. Great study spot! Covid-19 has taken away a lot of my ideal cafe spots in new brunswick because of no indoor dining. However, Efes is still open! I only got a coffee, but the cafe workers were open to me staying there for 3 hours to get some work and studying done! They even had mugs available for those dining inside! Enjoy! Efes Mediterrnean Grill happens to be my favorite place for Turkish cusine. This restaurant has one of the most stunningly, gorgeous decors and I always enjoy the food and staff here. So when we saw them building a new coffee & dessert place right next door to their restaurant during the pandemic, we were very excited. Upon entering, it is nice & bright and we were greeted with an enthusiastic hello. The other side of the cafe is where all the seating were and it is quite spacious. Looking at the drink menu, I was already excited as there were many choices. I ordered the Chai Latte and the flavor came through perfectly. Most of the drinks can be ordered hot or cold. My first experience with baklava was not good. A Yelper told me not to give up on finding a good one. The Walnut Baklava here is now my favorite. Not too sweet and you can taste the delicious walnuts. Another amazing dessert we got was the Profiterole Spoon Cake. I didn't understand why they called it that because it looked like chocolate pudding. But when you dig your spoon into it, the profiteroles are inside. So darn good! Get it!! I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Ambiance is awesome and the aesthetics are perfect for any instagram picture. This is a small quaint place that's great to get work done at. Perfect for a study day. Coffee was really good. I would recommend the white chocolate mocha. Had trouble communicating with the staff about what to order because of the language barrier, but it ended up fine! If there is zero star, I would use that for this place. I went to this place and ordered a coffee around 8pm. A guy at the counter did not provide me a coffee for an hour and I had to leave to home. Thus, I politely asked him to refund, but he said that he can't find my payment information in the register and can't refund. He also said that he is unfamiliar with the register and he doesn't know how to use it. But I continuously asked him to somehow refund. He was quite mad at me and said that he can give me 2 cup of coffees but can't refund. Who wants to drink 2 coffees such a late night. Also, he said to me "You should try by yourself" and challenged me to use the register. This is extremely impolite and not the way to talk with a customer. I can't believe an employee shows such attitude to a customer and behaves selfish in New Brunswick. I finally showed my credit card payment history to him using a phone and he finally admited that I paid for a coffee. Then, he finally took out $4 from the register and throw them out on a table. This is very INAPPROPRIATE. I WILL NEVER GO TO this place and I DON'T recommend this place to anyone to not experience such an uncomfortable incidence or communicate with the annoying guy. read more
