Of course you ride at your own risk keep that in mind and keep an eye on your children because as I mentioned on one of the pictures, they say that a horse doesn't bite, but I got a bruise from the bite. The horse bit my daughter first. And they said oh no, it doesn't bite. And I thought maybe it just nibbled on her and she got scared. However, then the horse bit me and I got a little bruise. So yes, the really big horse does bite. Also beware because there is another horse there that says not to feed a carrots and it does say on the sign that it does bite so keeping eye for signs really read the signs before you pet any animal. Some of the horses cannot eat carrots they have like a special diet, so please be respectful of that and do not feed them carrots if it says no carrots it can be for different reasons can be because they bite or because they're on a special diet. The whole staff is super friendly and nice. I really enjoyed talking to all of them and getting to know them. This place is huge. Expect to be here for a while and really enjoy your time. There's so much to see and do. My mom and daughter and I all of us got in the train ride, which was so much fun!!! Honestly, I think everything is pretty reasonable price. They do sell drinks, food, honey, eggs, even duck eggs. I think they do birthday parties, which is awesome. I also seen for the summer. They do rent out the pool area so that sounds fun. I'm considering doing that. It's definitely a hidden Gem and I can't wait to go again!!! my daughter absolutely love love love love this place that she can't wait to go again too. I would highly recommend visiting during cooler weather or earlier in the day so you can enjoy it longer without the heat draining you. The farm itself is a little hidden away, but they do have signs posted for parking, which made it easier to find once we got close. One thing I really liked is that admission is completely free, although they do have a donation box at the entrance if you'd like to support the farm and the animals. There were quite a few animals to see including horses, donkeys, goats, ducks, and pigs. The highlight for us was feeding the animals. Make sure you buy a bag of carrots because the animals definitely know visitors come with treats and they'll come right up to you expecting snacks. The goats especially were very eager and entertaining for the kids. I also noticed they host events here and offer pony and horse rides, which would be really fun for birthday parties or family gatherings. Even though it's a simple little farm, it turned out to be a fun and relaxing activity for kids and families looking for something different to do in Las Vegas away from the Strip. Overall, we had a good experience and would probably come back again when the weather is cooler.

It's a really affordable experience, and walking around amongst all the sunflowers was such a delightful way to spend the morning. We got lots of beautiful photos of the sunflowers, mountains, as well as the two of us posing with the sunflowers. Gilcrease also has lots of cute cutouts for photo opportunities. The staff at Sunflower Days was wonderful and happily answered all of our questions, and even helped us take some great photos. They also have a farm stand with all kinds of goodies, including their famous apple cider donuts. Unfortunately, I didn't get there early enough to try them! The orchard closes at 10am, so definitely plan to go early if you want time to enjoy Sunflower Days and peruse all the goods at the farm stand. Such a cute, fun, and affordable local experience. I'll definitely be back and next time, I'm getting those donuts! P.S. We cut and purchased some sunflowers and enjoyed them in our house for almost 2 weeks!

My family and I had the pleasure of visiting the demonstration orchard which is tied into the University Master gardening program. We went to check it out as we are signed up for their newsletters. Talk about some fresh fruit and vegetables for sale at a decent price. While I'd like to keep this secret for ourselves, it'd be selfish not to share with the community. If room is available, drive in slowly to the parking area [the second gate if you're traveling westbound.] You might be amazed at the beauty of the variety of trees grown in the limited but greatly used space. Walk up to the tent and check out their walk in cooler then pick your fruits and veggies. [Jaw breaking flavor without the injury] Sold by the pound, prices may vary, for our Saturday visit, we purchased over ten lbs. Cash is accepted as form of payment. Pick up a pamphlet as it has a guide on what to plant and when. Ask for their tree list if you're interested in growing some desert acclimated varieties. If you're lucky enough to pick up some honey from their beehives, do so quickly as they usually sell out in a few days. They take orders for almond trees in December and usually have them ready within 90 days. They also have wood mulch throughout the year, check with them just to be on the safe side. Louise is very good about replying to emails. Many thanks to Logan Love for helping us out while we were there. Very well rounded and knowledgeable young man. We are grateful for his patience and assistance with getting us acquainted with the orchard. We can't wait to visit again!

Although this was a PET expo, about 90% were dogs. We did see a talking bird, snake, and ferrets…read morethough, and the only cats were the ones up for adoption. Perfect place to take the birthday boy after he'd been pimped out. Dolce got to mix and mingle with all kinds of bitches! Vendors offered things like grooming, boarding, immunization shots, and even intimate portraits. Fans of the show "Pit Boss" even got to meet the Pit Boss himself and there were also obidnence training tips offered on the side stage and exhibitons throughout the day. After watching some dogs go through the training course with their master, we got to try our luck with Dolce. We paid a $2 donation and we guided him through each task. Once I got his attention with a treat, he went through the jumps and the tunnels pretty easily. The see saw was the most difficult task, but he met me at the end with his hard earned treat after jumping through the last hoop. We coudn't get more than a hundred feet at a time without being stopped by women, children, and men asking to pet or have a photo with the birthday boy! A handful of people and even other Pomeranian owners claimed Dolce to be the cutest dog in the entire expo so that was something to definitely be proud of....ALOHA!!! The Science Festival takes place over several days (9 in 2015) with events taking place all the way from the Colorado river to Red Rock Conservation area and many places in between. There were a total of 42 events that took place all dedicated to teaching and gaining interest of children in Science. What is really great is that all 42 events were free to children and families. Amazing! The finale of the Science Festival took place at the Cashman Convention Center. This was a great end to several days of science fun. They had well over 100 booths and activites for kids to explore. There were a few food vendors as well to help satisfy the kiddos hunger while they explored everything from National Parks to Shark Reef exhibits. Thanks to all the Organizers and volunteers who made this event possible for everyone in the Vegas valley. Our family looks forward to attending this event for many years to come.

Upon entering the garage, you must promptly sanitize your hands. You'll find a large bottle sitting on the table readily available for all who enters. The garage is set up with little games and prizes. Some toys and candy are absolutely free some you can win by playing certain games and others are very affordably priced. The experience as a whole is absolutely free, but donations are welcomed. And after experiencing all of the dinos, the pageantry, the creativeness, the garage/gift shop and all of the games it only feels right to donate so that he can keep this awesome experience going for many years to come. At the end of this wonderful experience, we were invited to sign the visitors guest book that is filled with signatures from visitors from all over the country, which was pretty cool. And at the absolute very end, me and the kiddos were instructed to pick up a gemstone and head over to the large dinosaur egg located in the front yard and toss our stones in to make a wish. We were informed that the wish granting rate was roughly around 90% so choose your words wisely and be careful what you wish for because it just might come true. I thought to myself "what an amazing way to end things, you know"... to remind the kiddos that there's still a little bit of magic left in the world. I think that's a great sentiment. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and if I had to sum it up in one word, it would "Dino-mite".... And yes, pun intended.
