This place is okay, nothing special. If you have a suggestion on an amazing sushi restaurant in the Bay Area please let me know. Restrauant/Seating - It's a tiny restaurant and super busy. The tables are placed incredibly close to each other, so plan on being able to hear other peoples conversations. If you extend your arm you can touch the person sitting at the next table. Food - We ordered four different sushi rolls. None of them were anything special in regards to taste. All four of them fell apart really easily, so it became messy. Service - Really nice servers. Since they have a lot of people that come here to eat, you're going to get your sushi really fast. As soon as you're done they immediately put the bill on your table. You definitely feel like they want you out as soon as you're done eating. (I get it since they have a line of people waiting to sit, but you're absolutely rushed during the whole experience.) Parking - Super tiny parking lot and most of the spaces are reserved for other businesses. read more

The wait is 20-30 minutes and there's some space to stand inside to wait too. If you don't want to wait for a long time, there's always take out. The ambiance and decor makes me feel like I'm in Japan. The sushi is really fresh and tastes great. I ordered the blue tuna which is on a separate menu and the sun roll. read more

I have been here a few times and this is My favorite sushi place so far, good in both quality and taste. Their sashimi is so so fresh! This time, we got here around 12pm on a saturday. But surprisingly there was no wait. We got our table right away. All the rolls we ordered were really delicious, 237, snow white, storm bringer,rockstar. However, if you dont like wasabi, remember to read the menu carefully because most fo the rows have wasabi sauce. I forgot to do this everytime I was here and I had to remove the sauce haha. The service is quick and nice. This restaurant is kinda small, that is why there is always a long wait during weekend's dinner time. Also, I hope they can have more light in the restaurant, it is too dark and this is not a bar. read more

Sen Dai is a very unassuming restaurant!from the outside, I would've totally pass it and never think twice. It's in a small stripall with very little parking. I visited on a Thursday night. The restaurant was already packed by 6pm with only a few seats at the bar left. We were the lucky 3 who snagged the last open seating. So... Come early, otherwise you'll probably wait an hour or so. Now the food- the menu is huge! They serve a bunch of diff dishes from bento boxes to curry to sushi. My party was focus on sushi tonight and they didn't disappoint! We tried several specialty rolls and the sashimi combo (comes in 16 or 30 pieces). I enjoyed it all. Not the best I've had but hit the spot since I was carving sushi. I like the creativity of their sushi rolls. The Storm Bringer (has soft shell crab), rockstar (with salmon) and Train (has king scallops and salmon). The Train roll was my favorite. When I saw that scallop is on it, I thought they'd put some cheapy scallops on top but to my surprise, they used king scallops. Yum! Now customer service experience- that was kinda lacking. Were we mistreated? No, but it was odd. We wanted to add more food for our table and was told twice that the person we flagged down wasn't a server and we had to wait for the server to come. They were all wearing the same shirts. Huh?! That's super confusing. We were sitting at the bar and we couldn't give our order to the chef directly. read more

If you haven't been to Sen Dai, what are you waiting for? The rolls here are fairly reasonable compared to other sushis restaurants. Most of the popular rolls are under $18 which I think it is pretty good! The portions are perfect and sushi tastes fresh! Well made sushi rolls and not sloppy. Baked sushi rolls are go-to! I always get the baked salmon roll ($15). Scrumptious! Sweet Spot Roll ($14) {cream cheese, smoked salmon roll topped with crab, spicy sauce, tempura crunch and unagi sauce}. Nice crunch from tempura flakes and spiciness from the sauce. SO DELICIOUS. Seafood Okonomiyaki looked and tasted amazing!! It had good bits of seafood and overall nice flavor. Good portion size too. Parking here sucks. Wait times can be long but sooo worth it! Service is fairly good from previous visits I've been to. Everything was fresh and delicious. Sen Dai is definitely one of the higher quality sushi restaurants in the area which makes them one of my fave sushi restaurants. I'd highly recommend. read more

One of the great benefits of Yelp is finding great places in areas you're not familiar with. This fits that example perfectly. This place is in a strip mall between a donut shop and an acupuncturist and we knew that when we walked in and saw the long line it was going to be worth it. There were 11 sushi chefs all working at the same time and the number of staff was impressive too. The service was beyond fantastic but be prepared to spend time reading the very long and detailed menu. The sushi was excellent and each roll was large and the fish portions were very generous. They have 5 different types of bluefin and our waiter really educated us on what was what. I would definitely go back next time I'm in San Jose to experience more of the amazingly deep menu. read more

Came across this place last minute dinner and is a Diamond in the rough. I say Diamond in the rough due to its location in the small strip mall. The sushi is amazingly fresh and tasty! I swear the fish tasted as if it was just pulled from the sea. They opened at 5pm for dinner and walked in 10 minutes after 5 and there were only 3 tables left available, which their dining area held quite a bit of patrons. Definitely coming back here! read more

Very busy restaurant here in Milpitas serving up some good sushi. I only eat the baked rolls and this place served up some pretty good offerings. Actually served my baked roll on a large bamboo leaf. All the parking lots in this area are just cramped much tighter than where we live in Fresno. I guess we're spoiled. I know I am! -G read more

My usual go-to sushi spot when I used to work in the area. Parking is the worst here! If you come for lunch, you can expect a wait. The sushi is good here. Lots of specialty rolls for you to choose from! I really enjoy the rockstar and storm bringer. I know people who enjoy the orgasmic, but cream cheese is not for me. My niece recently introduced me to the tempura udon here. She said it's her fave, so I took her word for it. I can see why she likes it. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot on a cold day. You get the udon bowl and then you get a plate of tempura to eat with. Service is fairly quick. If you need plates, ask for one. You're not given one to begin with. read more

Seafood Raman overcooked and had a regular hard boiled egg..Expected Ajitsuke Tamago Japanese style but we were told they don't do that ..say what?? Raman bowl was bland and only filled half way!! I pretty much enjoyed my meal here. It was Mothers Day and it was packed. We had to sit at the bar for my party of just 2. I didnt gripe as we were starving. I ordered a rib eye bento which came with salad, steamed rice. We also bought a sushi roll too on the side. The only thing that bothered me was the saran wrap boxes that layed across the glass case at the sushi bar. It was a bit distracting. Oh well. Food was still good. read more

Sen Dai is the real deal. I was in the neighborhood, in the mood for sushi, and saw all of the great reviews, otherwise, I would've missed this gem. For starters, I enjoyed the Seafood Sunomono - loaded with seafood, and the dish is fresh and flavorful. I also tried the Softshell Crab, which was nicely fried and served with ponzu sauce. The rolls were excellent, too, including the Milpitas Maki (extra large!), and the Spider Maki (yes, even more soft shell crab goodness). I have to mention that the service here is outstanding, friendly and quick. Finally, be sure to get here early. There were a few in line before the door even opened. If you do find a bit of a line to get in, it's worth the wait. read more

Went to this sushi place with recommendations from a close friend, Sen Dai did not disappoint. We ordered a variety of sashimi and rolls, some are preset meals and I was surprise by the quality we received. This place was PACKED with people and for sushi, price was not bad. I was pretty skeptical when my friends recommended, but the sashimi was decent quality especially considering the price we paid! I would recommend going during off-meal hours to avoid the crowd. read more

Sweet spot roll - a pretty solid choice. I got this as a to go order and enjoyed it in my hotel bed with a local beer. The cream cheese was a bit overpowering, but overall the ingredients all mixed well together. The place was poppin' when I grabbed my order to go. Friendly staff. read more

Love this place! This place is always a good option for Japanese food around the Milpitas area. The wait wasn't too bad when I went this time, but usually around lunch time, it gets super packed. The parking lot is super tiny and only has a few spots where people can actually park for Sen Dai Sushi (some are for the liquor store). Anyways, I was sick with a cold, so I ordered a beef udon. The hot soup was absolutely perfect on a cold day and made me feel so much better. Although if you are expecting a lot of items in the udon, you're probably better off ordering the tempura udon instead. The beef udon literally only comes with beef strips, carrots, and spinach. I wish I didn't have such a nasty cough, otherwise I would've ordered the tempura instead. My boyfriend ordered the chicken katsu bento with a side order of tuna and salmon sashimi, which it looks like he enjoyed. Overall, food is yummy and this is one of my favorite Japanese spots in Milpitas! read more

I love Sen Dai. I live in San Francisco and would easily drive here to fulfill my cravings. I love their big sushi rolls, they are usually part of my regular order (4-5 items between 2 people). Their sushi quality is pretty S tier across the board from sashimi to nigiri to regular rolls to their chirashi. Shout out to their staff who are hella friendly and great at anticipating needs (water refill, bussing plates). Food usually comes out quick even during lunch rush and phone orders constantly being taken. It makes me appreciate how well they work as a team from front to back of the house. read more

This place was recommended by a Sushi lover and they did not disappoint. Sushi is amazing here. We tried California roll, rainbow roll and seared Sushi. I thought that highlight of this place was the seared Sushi roll. This was my first time trying it and I think this tastes really good. I have since then tried it at other places but Sendai is very good. Also someone in our party tried Ramen and they reported that it's ok. I was really happy with the food but the service was slow and I felt that restaurant was too noisy and also jam packed with crowd. Expect to wait at least half an hour before being escorted inside. Overall it's a nice experience. I will revisit this place. read more

We visited here on 12/26/2019 with a party of four. This sushi restaurant is located in a pretty old fashioned strip mall. If you come in the evening, you shouldn't have that much trouble parking, as most of the other businesses are closed. We arrived and placed our name on the waiting list, and were quoted around 30 minutes. It was very close at about 40 minutes. This place is popular; however, they turn over tables as fast as they possibly can. We had an excellent time. Our server was fast and efficient and of course -- the most important part -- the food was awesome. We dined on only rolls this time around. We all shared the "Pop", "Secret", "Dragon", "Volcano" and "Philadelphia". We found that these five rolls were enough for our party. Every single one was delicious and we found the taste to be outstanding. Even the Philadelphia, which you can find in any sushi restaurant was outstanding. I would definitely return here again in the future. read more

Just can't get enough. Go-to sushi spot near my house. I don't live far from Japantown, but mostly get delivery so it seems more fresh when I stay within five minutes of my house. Who wants sushi that's been sitting around? No thanks. The food is great and they have amazing specialty rolls. Staff is attentive and quick (when I hae The parking sucks and they don't take reservations (too busy to accommodate) and the parking sucks, but it is SO worth it. read more

We came here on a rainy afternoon with our 1 year old. Finding a parking spot was a struggle. This place has been in my bookmarks since we moved to Milpitas and finally my mad craving for sushi brought us here. We got a table immediately and the server started us with water. I was little disappointed as they didn't had anything for kids. Food 4/5 DF 4 Sushi - I love a good fried sushi and it was delish !! It was flavorful and nicely cooked. The only thing I felt was off, it was too oily. Spicy Salmon Roll - Loved it !! would definitely come back for this. Pork Belly Bento Box - My husband got this and he really enjoyed it. Pork was nicely cooked and seasoned. Potato Patty - We ordered this for my baby and he didn't like it. It was just boiled potato seasoned with bread crumbs and deep fried. Service 5/5 - Very quick and very attentive. They were on top and were keeping a check of every little thing. I like it !!! Overall, If you like sushi its a great place to try. so this placebbn is actually one of the better sushi joints in the area. small kind restaurant, big time demand ...i mean, they can get packed here especially for lunchtime on any day of the week up to 2p when they close. the dinig room can be spacious but then again crowded as they get busier ...duh! right. there is a 10 seater or so sushi bar for the loner folks or couples date nite. wait staff is courteous, straight to the point and not over bearing or pushy seating wait time can be an easy 15 minutes ...or a dragging 30 minutes tip:they prefer that your party is complete and present at seating time or else they ON TO THE NEXT food wise... really good offerings. i mean, its hard to critique because people have different criteria. their fish is fresh tho & i personally haven't yakked or had the runs afterwards, so thats a positive take! the time me n my family have gone here, we have not complained after a meal. heck, i think we would probably eat here exclusively if it wasnt so out of our way from home and the wait time wasnt so daymm long. read more

Sen Dai's fish and rolls are really delicious and fresh. I came here with a friend on a weekday afternoon at noon, and we didn't have to wait (although the dining area was pretty crowded). Food ordered: Miso soup - standard Miso soup - Train Roll: (4/5) - It is really cool that this roll has scallop and salmon on top of the avocado and crab salad California roll. I had to take it apart to eat, and maybe that was wrong, but I could not fit the whole roll in my mouth at once. Maybe that tinkered with the flavors you were supposed to have. The seafood and filling tasted fresh, but it just only tasted fresh, in my opinion. - Orgasmic Roll: (5/5) - This roll had spicy tuna and it was actually a little spicy, but I loved it! Personally, I feel like I liked it more than the Train Roll since it had more flavor. I would order this over the Train if you were to choose one roll to eat. I recommend the Orgasmic Roll! read more

Great place to go in on some specialty rolls! They have a huge selection to choose from, so try something new! Train roll is particularly phenomenal, I highly recommend trying this one. Crunchy tempura, buttery salmon, fresh scallop, and a little zing of lemon. Delicious. Fish is fresh and good quality. There can be a bit of a wait and they do not take reservations. First off, my family has been going here for years. Reason for this 1 star is due to the ridiculous "to go" food policy. My wife and daughter came and ordered food togo, I was on my way home from work and suggested to eat in. I showed up and about to order. During which I ask is the to go food ready? The lady said "it is, but you cannot eat to go food here. You have to eat it outside of the restaurant" I went to explain the situation but she was firm on the restaurant policy. My question is WHY? WHY? I'm not trying to short change the restaurant!! I'm sure there is reason why Sendai has this policy BUT there should be exceptions!!! I'm disappointed. read more

I ordered Tonkatsu bento. The pork is about 1/10th of an inch thick, not much but the thick coating, for $17 plus tax. See the Tonkatsu put in sideways to compare with my chopstick.. Why just to save 50 cent in cost and totally ruin your reputation? read more

The fish wasn't particularly fresh and I found a bone in my nigiri. (??) The rice was also really dry and mushy. I was genuinely so disappointed at this. Miso sea bass was overly sweet which didn't really work with how fatty the fish was. It was too much. Also found more bones in the miso sea bass but that's less gobsmacking than finding it in your nigiri. The dessert, matcha tiramisu, just tasted like straight up cream and not sweet at all. I don't have a sweet tooth by any means but this could've used sugar. I didn't feel very good eating this, the fattiness of the cream plus not having any flavor ruined it for me :( Overall, the main theme is just the lack of seasoning in any of the dishes plus ingredients not being fresh. I know it's Kaiseki style, but the dishes also seemed very uninspired and plating was kinda messy. When I looked closely, the plates weren't clean and there were marks.. Maybe I'm being nitpicky but at a price point like this, the details matter. Word of advice, if you live in South Bay and want omakase, just take your $ and drive an hour up to SF. My bf took me here to celebrate our anniversary and I feel awful about how bad it was.. +1 star for the friendly service.

The first time I ate here, I was soooooo unimpressed.. not only that, but I got extremely sick from one of their rolls (a baked roll topped w/ salmon).. the salmon DEFINITELY had some funk to it & I ended up feeling extremely nauseous.. However, the boyfriend & I gave them another chance.. the Milpitas Roll pulled us back. Seriously. Just that one roll out of the 4-5 we ordered that night rescued Sen Dai from our black list. Since it's more difficult to travel up to my favorite spot, Noriega Teriyaki House in San Francisco, this place is our local to-go spot for tasty Japanese cuisine! Here's a list of our recommendations: ALBACORE TATAKI - Good portion of slightly seared albacore (even though most times they do NOT cut it correctly.. sometimes it looks like they butchered the poor fish LOL) on top of a bed of raw onions, ponzu sauce, topped with a bit of daikon, green onions, & sometimes garlic puree. It's a very good starting dish IMO. Be sure not to let the fish sit in the ponzu sauce for too long though.. it collects too much of the saltiness & makes it inedible (happened once; learned our lesson) SHORT RIBS BENTO - Or short ribs anything, actually. I love short ribs! This entree is served with the teriyaki sauce on the side (which is absolutely amazing, btw) & I love the fact that the meat is marinaded as well so not all the flavor is coming from the sauce. The salad that comes with it is average, a good crunch between bites I suppose.. & the rice is nothing special either; although I do wish they put it in a bowl or a dipped dish or something for easy eating. It's difficult to eat rice off a flat surface with chopsticks! MILPITAS ROLL - the star of the show. Keep in mind, this roll is HUGE for $6.50; it comes in 4 or 5 huge pieces. It's stuffed with spicy crab meat (imitation, but still yummy), huge pieces of smoked salmon, and avocado; topped with crunchy tempura flakes (the boyfriend's favorite part), unagi sauce, & wasabi cream sauce. We have to order two of this each time cause there's no way my boyfriend & I would share this one. It's just not going to happen LOL! TEMPURA ICE CREAM - If you leave this place without ordering this awesome dessert, well, SHAME ON YOU! I've ordered tempura ice cream everywhere that it's available & by far, Sen Dai makes one of the best tempura ice creams around. For those of you who are unfamiliar, this is basically deep fried ice cream but the center remains frozen. It's green tea ice cream (though other places make other flavors as well) wrapped with cake (pound cake I believe?) then deep fried & served in a bowl. The thin & crispy cake crust is our favorite part because it's just PERFECT! We also taste a hint of maple or some sort of other syrup but.. I don't know that's just us. Overall, I love the food here; nothing much to say about the service though because it fluctuates like crazy.. most of the girls are on top of their game & the guy who comes over to refill our beverages is always consistent. Also, the wait may be long since it's a tiny restaurant.. try going after/before the lunch/dinner rush. read more

This is basically my favorite sushi place. The sushi is fresh, the portions are substantial, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is very fast. It's a popular place, so you need to get there before 6pm on a Fri or Sat night, otherwise, you'll be in for a bit of a wait. I come here for the sushi and it's pretty fantastic. It's fresh and they bring out the sushi incredibly fast. My favorites are the real california roll (real crab) and the Honda roll (spicy scallop roll). But in all honesty, I just love their sushi overall. I've also tried some of their non-sushi items, and this is what I think: The udon and chicken katsu was also pretty good, but I'd recommend staying away from the curry -- very bland, tiny portion, a ton of rice. Pros: Great sushi, reasonable prices, fast and friendly service, decent ambiance. Cons: Non-sushi items vary, sometimes service is so quick that you feel like you are being encourage to leave, 18% gratuity tacked on for large parties, potentially long wait if you get there during prime dinner hours, you can smell the dump/landfill that is somewhere nearby in Milpitas. I listed all the possible cons, but they are very minor. I still love the place, but there is room for improvement, which is why I gave it a 4. Many people just order takeout and avoid most of the negatives, but the positives of this place keep bringing me back. read more

This place was ALRIGHT. Came here to try it out for lunch because a friend of mine said he normally goes here by himself, so me and my friend decided to tag along and keep him company. So when we first walked in, the place was fairly small and we were seated right away. We got these little booths on the side, which were kind of weird. They were like, Tatami booths or something lol. The first thing that came in my mind was, "how do you sit in these?!" But i guess they were pretty cozy, in a way... So anyways, we checked out the menu and the three of us ended up getting Bento boxes. The prices were pretty decent actually! I also ordered a side of Gyoza for an appetizer, and my friend ordered a side of of the spicy tuna rolls. The bento boxes came with your entree, rice, soup, salad, bean sprouts, dipping sauce, and an orange slice. I actually got my salad substituted for extra rice. I ordered the Spicy BBQ Chicken Bento and it wasnt too bad. The sauce was sort of sweet and spicy and the chicken wasnt overly cooked like some restaurants, but just tender enough to digest. The service was pretty good too, our waitress was very attentive and the food came out quickly. Overall, this place is a good find if you're looking for decent japanese food at a fairly cheap price. read more

I just went back there with two friends for lunch togo about a month or two ago...My work place is just 5 minutes away from the location. See how i said I love the crunchy crab salad...I ordered that and the person/owner I previously said remembered me, told me I must have gotten the wrong place and they never have it offered to customers. To prove her point she talked to the 4 years frequent customer right there and smirk like I'm stupid. I insisted that I've been there before (more frequently then) and even gave a yelp review. She/owner was like oh! that must be special ordered and quote me $5 for a tiny portion of imitated crab ($3 then). Ok. Even if I was mistaken, or if that wasn't on the menu...she could've just told me so and ask me kindly if I want to special order it instead of acting rude, argued, and laughed... Besides being disrespectful to customers, thier food is expensive for the portion size and quality they offer. I will never come back and so will my friends and family. The terriyaki steak looked nasty and the sashimi was unfresh. Get a lot better food at the same price at Cherry on El Camino Real now have bigger portion too. I honestly do not know why this place has such a high rating. This place is CRAP. This place is terribly small and always packed. The owner of this place acts like the world revolves around her. I was quite disturbed by the way she barked out orders at her employees and lectured them in front of the customers. Pretty unprofessional. Let's proceed to discuss the food that they got here. We went with the sashimi deluxe which includes 29 pieces of sashimi. I was curious to see what types of fish was included on that plate but the waitress couldn't tell me. That bothered me a little bit. I got 2 rolls which I only remember the name for one. The first one was a volcano and the 2nd one is a sunrise I think. They were both very small and tasted pretty bland. The Sashimi deluxe came with 2 soups and salads. The miso soup is ok tasting but the salad was nasty. Warm salad? are you kidding me? SO lets move onto the sashimi.... It was not fresh at all. some of the cuts had a foul odor to it which really ruined my mood. I wouldn't really recommend this place to anyone. First, let me say that we now go to Sen Dai for take out only, and that's just because of the size of the place, very small. HOWEVER! The food is fantastic. I used to live in Japan and I am a sushi-snob when it comes to certain things, and to this point Sen Dai has never failed. The Nigiri is great, nice thick cuts and not too much rice. Amaebi is done perfectly and very sweet! They have a great selection of rolls, and they are liberal with their sauces on them, which I personally like. It's a cross between Korean Flare sushi and Traditional. ALL GOOD. Pricing is just right, not too much. When you place togo orders you get alot of extras (wasabi, soy, etc.) and they have NEVER been late for a pickup, even on a busy Friday. The staff is VERY nice and I've never had a problem. I usually go in 15 mins before my order is ready to have a beer, and each time I've been given free edamame while waiting. Overall, I think the quality of the food, the size/quantity of the nigiri and rolls, and the attention to detail makes this the best "little" sushi resturant in the south bay. read more

The excellent rating is solely based on the taste of the food. I have never had a more delicious rainbow roll. It was big enough so that was all I could eat. My companion had 8 pieces of sushi and that was all he could eat. The restaurant is located in an older strip mall on the east side of Abel Street. The interior of the restaurant reflected the age of the building. The furnishings were basic and ordinary, so this is not an upscale restaurant or a place to take a first date. It was clean. Every table was taken and the wait for a table at lunch on a Wednesday was 10 minutes. It is obvious the patrons come for the excellent food. Due to operating at full capacity, the restaurant was a bit noisy. There was only one restroom for both sexes to use. It was neat and well stocked. However, it could use more deodorizer. The wait staff was fast, friendly and efficient. We were served within 10 minutes of placing our order. The cost of the food was reasonable. $11 for the rainbow roll. I like Sendai for the prices and the Poke Salad. I would rate their rolls just about average, and pretty consistent. The Poke salad is served up in a rice wine vinegary dressing with daikon and usually maguro, sake (salmon), and either albacore tuna or butterfish. (note poke salad does not taste like traditional poke salad). Recently they remodeled this place and made it bigger. I'm just not digging the new remodel, the lights were to bright and the center of the restaurant looks more like a cafeteria now. Gone are the big comfy booths and Japanese partitions and also its charm. Now they have the bus boys (bus people) just standing right in the front of the sushi bar ready to pounce on your empty plate, which i guess is good service, but when they're not cleaning tables they feel like sentinels watching you eat. If you live in the area you can't beat the consistency and price, but if you don't i'm not sure if it yields a trip. . . anymore. read more

I came to Sen Dai Sushi on a Wednesday around 5:30 PM with three coworkers, as one of them was visiting from out of town and craving sashimi. We decided to start with the calamari appetizer and garlic edamame, both of which were solid choices. For rolls, we ordered the Storm Bringer Roll, Happy Blossom Roll, Las Vegas Roll, Milpitas Roll, and one other that I can't quite remember. The sushi came out quickly, and every roll was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the Las Vegas Roll and Milpitas Roll--they're generously sized and packed with fish, making them a great choice if you're looking for something filling and flavorful. The service was excellent! The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, making sure we had everything we needed. When I think of Sushi, I think of only Sen Dai. Why is that you may ask? They're AWESOME THAT'S WHY!! First, I am very well known there for the extremely large quantity of sushi that I consume. Around 10 orders of Maguro Nigiri (20 pieces), 4 Unagi Nigiri (8 pieces) 1 Tako Nigiri (2 pieces) 4 tekka maki (8 pieces) another 4 orders of Unagi roll with no avocado, and the list can go on and on, but that would take up all the space for this review! They have FANTASTIC customer service, clean dining area, great prices, and a feeling that when you enter that all is right with the world:) I usually leave extremely full and satisfied. The bill is always around a hundred dollars, but its not because they are expensive, it is sheer quantity that I consume! I came here with my friends Sunday night around 6:30 and the place was packed!!!! We had to wait 10 minutes for a table. The girl who put our name down gave us attitude, but in the end she was nicer. We sat down in a cute booth. Some other girl took our order, and she didnt even seem happy at all, maybe because she was overwhelmed with the large crowd. I have to say the food is excellent along with the price, but the attitude we received wasnt delightful. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. We had our money out for the longest time and no one came to pick it up. So one of my friends decided to bring it to this other girl who was working near the sushi bar. Decent sushi joint located in Milpitas. The place is tiny, probably only like 12 tables total, tops. It was packed when we got there, there was a large party there so we had to wait a couple minutes for our table to get cleaned. For appetizer we had the breaded oysters aka kaki fry. Wasn't that good, coulda lived without it. We ordered three rolls (sorry, not a fan of sashimi, nigiri, tempura, bento boxes or any of that stuff, just rolls). We never been there so we asked our server for recommendations. She recommended us the secret roll (basically a lion king roll), the storm bringer, and my friend got another roll. Storm bringer was okay, I'm not a huge fan of their tobiko. Looked kinda old. Secret roll was okay, some of the rolls contained more veges than crab. Service was hasty and good. My friend and I visited Sen Dai Sushi for lunch and had a highly disappointing experience. The service was notably poor, primarily due to the waitress's rudeness. When we inquired if they used vegetable broth in the soup, her dismissive response made us feel unwelcome simply because we are vegetarians. Although the restaurant offers many vegetarian options, I wanted to confirm if they used fish or any other non-vegetarian broth. When we pointed out that her behavior was inappropriate and decided to leave, she curtly replied, "You are welcome to leave." This level of unprofessionalism and lack of customer care was astonishing. My boyfriend and I was excited to come here for date night. The portions were very good. The food was tasty. I can't say the same for service. We wait about 30 mins but got in around 7:40PM. The host called everyone else's name on the speaker but she didn't call ours, we checked our phones 5 mins later. Just because we were the last people on the list, she didn't want to use the speaker anymore. when we got in we felt SUPER rushed the whole time. We understand that you guys close at 8 but if you guys are so worried about people staying pass 8 then last call should be at 7:30 because it's not professional to drop off the check before all the food arrives and picking up plates when we're not quite done with our food. 5 stars for food, 1 star for bad service. read more

I came back for like the 5th time and this time i guess they've hired new waitresses and their service has gone wayyyyyyyyy downhill. maybe they should try training their waitresses first because the asian girl tried to take our order and failed. she took down my order and then it turns out she didnt even write it down.. -___- pointless?? i guess she didnt listen when we were ordering and brought the wrong food. then they try to argue with us for taking the wrong order..they also didnt give us extra plates to put our sushi on. food was ok, but i dont think i would want to come back because of the service we had recieved, they were just overall REALLY rude. I'm really disappointed with this restaurant and can't understand how it has such high ratings. The food is far from authentic, which is surprising since it's Chinese owned rather than Japanese. The service was also very disappointing. Servers were too rude, inattentive, and kept rushing us to finish quickly! As for the sashimi, the pieces were cut unevenly and lacked the finesse you'd expect from good quality sushi. The rolls were oversized and fell apart before I could even take a bite. Traditional sushi roll pieces are supposed to be just enough to eat in one bite, but that wasn't the case here at all. Overall, this place did not meet expectations. PLEASE if you eat here dont tip them. i noticed before i got work which is down the street from sen dai sushi, at cisco. that my tips went to the front counter next to the register. the girl had taken all her money out of her work apron and put it on the counter for the manager to count. they were just closing the restaraunt and it seemed as if the 10 dollars i gave my waitress went to the managers or owners or whoever. they are never getting tips from me again. just goes to the supervisors wallet or owners. and when i walked in another waitress was getting yelled at. seems like they are always hiring new waitress. kinda odd. the food is ok. karma wil get the best of those managers/owners. read more
