an extremely long overdue review of this place! it easily became one of our favorite spots for ayce sushi. lots of appetizers, soups, nigiri/sashimi, and roll options. we love that the sushi rolls aren't too packed with rice, and the same with the nigiri. our absolute favorite is the salmon belly nigiri (limited to one order per person) and i don't blame them. i would order JUST the salmon belly if i could. the fish is fresh and nicely cut, and specifically the wasabi topping for the salmon belly nigiri is SO GOOD. we also love the rice-less rolls here we took a star away because we feel like there is some inconsistency in their food (our little one loves the udon here, but we realize quickly that it tasted different every single time we ordered it for him--sometimes the flavor is lacking, other times the soup tastes great. not sure what the deal is with that) the service is always great. even when they can get pretty busy, we always felt like the waiters were attentive to us, checking in, and making sure everything is all good. we really enjoy that this ayce place uses the pen + paper option to order. it makes it easier to mark what you want and just hand it over to them, they submit it, and bring back the paper so we can order more whenever we're ready. although we moved away from the area recently, we always recommend this spot to our friends who're looking for a good sushi spot that will not disappoint read more

I visited this place after a friend recommended it to me, and for around $40 per person, I think it's a pretty good deal, especially compared to if you ordered everything à la carte. We tried a variety of items including nigiri, appetizers, and grilled dishes. The appetizers came out fresh, hot, and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Ika Geso. The nigiri was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The fish wasn't overly fishy and the fish-to-rice ratio was fair, but I do think the quality of the fish could have been better. I found myself getting full and slowing down earlier than usual because the sushi just didn't stand out enough to keep me going. Ordering is done by filling out rounds on a sheet of paper and handing it to the server. Service was quick and attentive, the staff always seemed to know when we were ready for another round, dishes were cleared quickly, and our drinks were consistently refilled. First time trying this restaurant and we opted for premium menu so we can order nigiri. There are lots of seating inside but it's a small restaurant so it's very cramped. We had a party of 8 adults and got the two tables side by side so it was very long. No one came to remove old plates from the inside end of the table so it got cramped quickly, and the first end had to basically pass our orders down the entire length. Also it took a while to get our food. The nigiri was alright. The best was the salmon belly. I was hoping to try the yellowtail but I'm pretty sure they gave us albacore. It has a really fatty aftertaste to it. The other side of our table ordered yellow tail and it looked way different. The tuna was my least favorite, it was so fishy! And also could've skipped the carpaccio. The signature rolls were decent. More tuna leaning though. Couldn't find a decent signature salmon roll. I will not be coming back. Came here with 15 people to celebrate a friend's birthday and immediately, I appreciate their lenient, online reservation system. There's no deposit required and I was able to change the headcount multiple times with no issues. It was busy and full when we came at 6 PM on Friday evening but they cleared just enough space for our party. We were shocked from the moment the food arrived on our table. It was aesthetic and different from other sushi places that give too much rice in each portion. This place is definitely worth for AYCE! Came here with some friends to celebrate my birthday, and let me just say--why does ordering feel like I'm taking a sushi test? LOL. This is where AYCE sushi either passes or fails. We came around 3pm for an early dinner/late lunch, which ended up being perfect. By around 5pm, it started getting busier, so we definitely came at the right time. We stayed for almost 2 hours and pretty much had the place to ourselves, with only about two other tables. It was nice being able to sit, chat, and actually enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. The tempura was a highlight--crispy, lightly battered, and super delicious. We ordered two shrimp tempura and one veggie tempura (no surprise eggplant, thankfully lol). The shishito peppers had that fun random spice--some mild, some with a kick, but all really good. And you can never go wrong with edamame, perfectly salted. I honestly can't remember all the rolls we ordered but I know we got the signature Sake2Me roll, plus shrimp tempura, snow salmon, rainbow, kiss of fire, orange blossom, along with a mix of nigiri and other rolls. There were five of us, so it felt overwhelming at first, but since we weren't rushed out, we were able to enjoy everything at our own pace. Service was great--our server was attentive and friendly. Sake2Me was my friend group's go-to AYCE sushi spot in Orange County, and when I heard they were opening a location in Fremont, I was ecstatic! This restaurant is located in the Pacific Commons plaza and there is plenty of parking. Since they've opened, I've been to the Fremont location 3 times and they have not disappointed! The fish-to-rice ratio on the nigiri is perfect for not filling your stomach up too fast, and the service has always been quick and accommodating. All of the fish is fresh (or as fresh as AYCE sushi can be, obviously we're not comparing this to omakase-grade sushi) and I always leave feeling quite satisfied with the value and quality of each meal. I usually try to come in on a weekday lunch to take advantage of the value pricing, and their basic menu is pretty extensive so it always does the job! I have never upgraded to the premium menu and still have everything I would want and more. They have a good variety from rolls to nigiri to apps which makes it perfect for groups. The fish quality was actually pretty good, I loved the salmon and yellowtail nigiri's. Our fave rolls were the Vivi and kiss of fire. The rolls are well constructed and drizzled with lots of sauce, and we enjoyed all the different flavor combinations. Made a reservation for 6 people on Mother's Day at 4pm and were seated immediately. It was packed the entire time we were there. Ordered immediately and chose the premium, the appetizers came out quickly and rolls a bit after that but it took about 50 minutes for the nigiri to come out. Ordered a second order immediately after and that one took maybe 15 mins to come out. The portions have increased in size since I last came, nigiri and rolls are proper sized (though I really didn't mind when they were smaller) and what I assumed were going to be maki rolls and hand rolls were the most monstrous creations I've ever seen with their size. Pace yourself on those. Still very good bang for your buck, it's not the most amazing sushi but I'd say on par or better quality than your average sushi restaurant. read more

I've been eyeing this place for so long and I finally came around to trying it. This is an all you can eat sushi restaurant. The way that it works is you order in rounds. You can choose the regular AYCE option of the premium option that includes nigiri. Each person in your party is limited to two rolls per round. Meaning if there is 2 of you the max amount of rolls you can order per round is 4. My partner and I got to maybe 2-3 rounds and we're stuffed by the end of it. We had a great experience here, every single roll and plate was brought out in a timely manner. The baked rolls took longer, as expected. And the fish here was fresh! Do not bring your first date here because this will be my last date as a woman! Every portion is way smaller than a regular sushi restaurant. I was expecting them to serve sushi rolls in 6 or 8 pieces, but got 4 per plate. The sweet potato tempura was thinly sliced and the fried tofu was kiddie sized. Some of the rice is hard to swallow with unclean cuts of a 5 year old in training. The miso soup have no tofu and the seaweed was a bit undercooked. The only thing I enjoyed is the mackerel and yellowtail nigiri which the rice are hella small. I'm crying on the inside while my date enjoys going here. Prefer to go to a Japanese grocery store for better portions at a cheaper price. Service was fast and the waiters are nice to refill your water and soda without extra charge. Sake2Me was my first experience having AYCE sushi, and I'm glad I tried it. Lighting is bright inside and decor wasn't too crazy or anything. It was $35 and $40 for the regular and premium option respectively, which is a pretty decent price for what you're getting in terms of variety and quality; the menu is extensive. A friend and I came on a Monday night, wasn't crowded at all and we were seated right away. The menu is pretty large so we spent some time just looking through. We tried most of the nigiri, a couple of the rolls, and some appetizers. For nigiri, the size of each piece is small (which is nice and allowed us to order multiple rounds without feeling bloated). The salmon belly and salmon nigiri were great, would recommend those! Eel was good too. Appetizers were okay. Rolls were also okay. I'd probably stick to the nigiri, but you are only able to order 5 orders per person per round, so it's hard to order a lot at a time. I have been here so many times by now and I'm shocked I've never left a review. The food is so fresh and delicious and the service is very fast and they are very nice people. We are always very happy to eat here because we feel like we get our moneys worth. I love the dragon roll. Their appetizers are pretty good too and all of the portion sizes are very good. I LOVE Sake2Me Sushi! I tried AYCE sushi for the first time in San Diego and have been looking for a spot in the Bay ever since (so happy I've found one). They're located in a shopping plaza with tons of parking. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Fish quality (5/5) - I'm typically picky about the nigiri I enjoy because I hate when raw fish is very fishy-tasting and has a weird texture. I've came once on a weekday lunch and another time on a Saturday dinner and didn't have to wait for a table (in fact, weekday lunch seemed to be busier). They give you a paper menu to write down your orders for each round and the food comes out in a timely manner. The fish is fresh and good quality. There's a good variety of things on the menu, but I like their nigiris, carpaccio, and rice-less sushi. But my favorite thing about this place is the rice to fish ratio! They give a small amount of rice compared to fish which I like cause I get more bang for my buck. That's pretty much the main reason why I would keep coming back. My only suggestion would be for the servers to offer to take the next round's orders sooner to avoid having a gap when eating. Perfect spot for AYCE sushi in the bay area that's not San Francisco. There's plenty of parkings in the plaza. The area around is spacious and clean that you can walk around to digest all sushi that you're going to get from this place. The servers are friendly and nice, if it's busy, they might get a little behind from getting your order sheet, but you can always flag them down. One you're seated, they will provide you a sheet with 5 columns. Each column is a round where you can put whichever number of orders that you want next to the items. Their nigiri was the best of the show. Very reasonable amount of rice. The texture and freshness were on point too! FOOD // $40 for premium AYCE nigiri? YES PLEASE High quality fish! You can order 5 orders of nigiri per person. Max out every time! The surprising hit was the Escolar, so unexpected! The salmon was delicious! The Yuzu Yellowtail was great! Worth repeating! The amount of rice was very small and reasonable! I felt like the ratio of fish to rice was big! SKIP THE SASHIMI SALAD, SALMON SKIN HAND ROLL, AND ANYTHING BAKED OR FRIED. SERVICE // It was not busy on a Friday night surprisingly! We went early at 4:45 pm. Unfortunately we had some misses with our ordering. We kept getting the wrong appetizers and we had to stop our server multiple times and tell them we didn't order that dish, and it's clear based on the sheet what we ordered. Don't bother w appetizers anyway they are all filler. On our last order of nigiri they gave us a new sheet but didn't write our table number on it, when we waited a while the waiter noticed us and asked us if we wanted more nigiri and we said we already put in an order and he said he would go check. He brought oh the order and asked if it was ours and we said yes and he was very apologetic and said he would properly put in our order. Don't expect much from service but they were friendly and filled up water and checked in on us, but once it gets busy I think it will get harder to get their attention. They were apologetic when mistakes did happen. AMBIANCE// This place is secretly big. It goes deep. There isn't one big open space but several small spaces. We were in the long hall next to the bathrooms which were tucked away. It didn't bother us we were by them! This place is KID friendly! They have high chairs and a huge single stall family friendly bathroom with a changing table, but just be aware that kids ages 0-3 are free but 3-9 you must pay $22, which is weird because if I had a 3 year old I would definitely not pay for them LOL. OVERALL// I WILL BE BACK! BEST AYCE IN THE BAY! 4 stars because of the minor service mishaps such as serving us the wrong appetizers but other than that it was great!!!! read more

A solid place for AYCE sushi and the price was pretty fair for the variety and quality you get. Fish quality was good and I appreciated how they didn't load up on the rice for the nigiri. I do wish the fish portions were a bit bigger. Not a deal breaker though, because that just meant we had to keep ordering more plates. Staff were welcoming and service was great. Also nice that they're located in a large plaza so there's plenty of parking. read more

I came on a weekday (monday) around noon so it was not busy at all. Before coming here I read the reviews and was not happy to see that the amt of nigiri that can be ordered was very limited. Honestly, with how much RICE they put into each nigiri, you can't even eat that much anyways. You're forced to get premium if you want ANY nigiri options for AYCE. The mango salsa on anything barely had a taste, could not taste the mango at all. Do NOT get the salmon skin handroll. I love salmon skin but not when they crumble it to so many tiny pieces like just look at that ratio!! It was soooo oily and mainly had burnt and oil flavor it was so bad. Service was great but it also was not busy at all- so that might change during their busier times. I love finishing off my ayce meal with some hit instant ramen (feels so good ) but the ramen used here was not great- the soup had no flavor or was hella diluted. The rice to fish proportion is solid, but overall think the place is just ok. I remember when it first opened and there were lines out the door, but I went at 5 pm on a Friday and there was no wait. $40 for the AYCE premium isn't bad, but wouldn't come back as the quality isn't great. I visited Sake2Me Sushi in Fremont, CA [43337 Christy St] on Tuesday, 9/30/25, around 7 PM. On this visit, I opted for the Premium AYCE dinner deal for about $40. I was able to try the following dishes: * Hamachi Nigiri * Shrimp Shumai * Mini Sushi Tacos with Salsa * Miso Soup * Rainbow Roll * Spicy Tuna Hand Roll * Baked Green Mussels * Hawaiian Poke * Buldak Carbonara * Strawberry Mochi All of the food was tasty and met expectations. Even though I enjoyed everything, I favored the Baked Green Mussels, the Mini Sushi Tacos, and the Hawaiian Poke the most. The customer service was attentive and pleasant from the staff members. The indoor ambiance was clean, spacious, and welcoming. The entertainment from the TV screen and music was awesome. Overall, visiting this restaurant was fantastic. After consuming everything, I was extremely full and satisfied. The positive dining experience makes me want to return to Sake2Me Sushi in the future. read more

All you can eat sushi sounds nice until you realize this place limits how much you can eat due to the horrendously slow service. We were given a sheet that allows 3 rounds of ordering and each round took an hour to get the food out. You can only order 5 nigiri per round and since there's only 3 rounds, you can only get 15. The sushi here isn't even good either. The salmon in particular was extremely fishy and felt a little suspicious. I don't expect fish at AYCE places to be the best quality, but this place didn't even meet average standards. Everything was either flavorless or fishy and the best thing I had was the buldak carbonara. I wouldn't waste your time and money coming here for subpar sushi. The food came out so slowly I almost took a nap in the restaurant. For the price, you can get decent sushi almost anywhere else. read more

We came here on a weekend and it was busy, so I can understand the slower service, but it did take a while for our server to get back to us to take our order and we felt like we were waiting for the majority of the time (which is tough given the time limit for an AYCE sushi spot). You're limited to 3 rounds of ordering, which the server explained upfront. The menu had a nice variety: plenty of nigiri, rolls, and hand rolls, plus non-seafood options like beef fried rice and buldak noodles (great for our friend who doesn't like fish). The baked rolls were tasty. I also liked the nigiri/rice ratio (not too heavy on the rice) so we could enjoy more fish without filling up too quickly. Came for the deals! Left dissatisfied. They gave me the check without a 3rd round. I recommend coming at least 3 hours before closing. Theres alot of items that need to be tried. We got the premium and went crazy. We got 10 pc of nigiri for each round. Along with 7 rolls and 6 apps. I think we learned to enjoy the premium items by themselves. My service was kinda bad. I was seated in the back so we felt rushed and ignored at the same time. We barely had space to have our first round. The lighting does cook the food so you gotta eat fast. I didn't really enjoy my salmon if I saved it for last because by then it was warm and slimy. We also ordered a miso soup as our last order before the kitchen closed but they didnt serve us. Alot of the rolls didnt stay together. Arguably the best thing was the tail pieces. I also am a fan of trying "philly" rolls. The cream cheese in the sushi was disappointing, super warm and didn't sit well. The vegetable tempura was raw. Impossible to bite the potato or the pumpkin. I had to send it back. Paid 106$: tempura inedible, warm fish, melted cream cheese, but the menu has alot of variety! read more
