Spicy beef. Yum
Bill U.

Our last meal before leaving Chicago and it was delicious. We needed to get it to go as time was limited and we needed to hurry it up. We ordered online and picked up our food 1/2 hour later. I ordered the spicy beef and vegetables and it was delicious. My wife ordered the shrimp fried rice and my daughter the vegetable fried rice and we all came away satisfied. The portions are large and very tasty. You can't tell by the awning outside the restaurant, but first class food.

The Pad Thai With Tofu

Ben's Noodles And Rice has... you guessed it. If these grains are good with you, this place will be worth popping in and getting some good stuff. Just don't expect to stay for long, because most customers get takeout. Even so, there's a few tables inside if you're going to eat here. They have a good selection of Chinese and Thai with okay prices. Each time has been good. I've never eaten in here. The last time was as before, as takeout. It's a small place but it has a big menu. There's plenty of choices for many tastes, including plenty for both carnivores and vegetarians. Big portions at lunch. Last time I got the Pad Thai. It's $11 at lunch. This has bean sprouts, eggs, which I left off, green onions, peanuts, and thin rice noodles. It also comes with a protein choice. There's beef, chicken, and tofu. Basic but good. There's a lot for the lunch portion it seems. Has a big menu for a small cafe. It's a good place for takeout. They're closed Wednesdays.

The wife and I have been ordering from here for years. Must recently, we ordered pad woonsen with tofu and chicken teriyaki. We also ordered the shrimp and vegetable egg rolls. All the food was good. Generally, I have enjoyed the vegetable and chicken dishes (have not tried beef entrees, but not the seafood. Other entrees we have tried include basil noodles, spicy entree and pad Thai. We usually enjoy our food and will keep ordering from here.

Ginger catfish, cashew chicken, crab rangoon, egg rolls! To go we got pad see eiw and spicy Korean pork!

Everything was delicious... even better my second time here! Fresh veggies and very flavorful! Service was wonderful and very attentive. This is my second time dining in and it's a cute little spot to catch up with friends or for a date night Thank you Ben's Noodle and Rice for a tasty lunch!

Pad Thai

I ordered the Pad Thai for dinner via online takeout. I was very pleased with how speedy the service was -- it was ready by the time I walked there. Friendly staff as well. The Pad Thai ended ended up being delicious and extremely filling, especially for the price. Highly recommend to anyone frequenting the area.

We couldn't help but keep going b/c it was so delicious!! In here is Pad Thai, pineapple rice, white lime chicken & red duck curry

This food was DELICIOUS! I came with a large group so I had a chance to taste a lot of different things, and we all liked everything and most of us could not choose just one favorite. I think among my favorites were the pineapple rice and the Pad Thai. I also thought it was great service and had a welcoming vibe. It is a small space for dine-in but we enjoyed our experience. They also appear to do a lot of take-out which will come in handy as the colder weather comes in. I highly recommend coming here!

Pretty Good... Ready for dessert now

Once again my greedy ass was at work on lunch... I wanted Chinese food. Like always I go to one of my favorite apps, yep you guest it. Yelp!!! Ben's came up as one the most reviews in that area so I tried them out. I ordered the Curry Fried Rice (Chicken) and it was pretty good. It's was a little different from my neighborhood spot but still good. The restaurant was really small but nice neat and clean. The only thing that annoyed me was the poor pooch outside sitting in the car barking the entire time. Probably hungry while the owner is somewhere eating. Poor Pooch.. I will most definitely return to eat again at Ben's. Can't wait to experience other options. Great job Ben's Noodles and Rice..

It was inferior. Jin Thai and Indies much better. The flavors weren't there. Won't order again.

Instantly one of my new favorite restaurants in Chicago. And probably one of my favorite Thai…read morerestaurants of all time. As a street food spot that's popular for lunch, you get different offerings here than a lot of your other neighborhood Thai joints. Sat on the outdoor patio so didn't get to see the inside much but I liked our atmosphere and service. Split the papaya salad and the Laab Moo Krob (crispy pork belly salad) with a friend and both were outstanding. From the first crispy bite of the pork belly I was in love with the texture and flavors. We added a side of sticky rice with that which was perfect. I wish I could've tried everything on the menu that day but looks like I'll just have to return as soon as possible.

Our server took our order and our food came out less than 15 minutes after. SP1 CRAB MEAT FRIED RICE - 25 The fried rice came in a claypot and came with a good amount of grab meat. The flavors were pretty light -- I would have preferred a bit more seasoning or umami. The portion size is large. R10 HALF & HALF CHICKEN WITH GINGER RICE - 19 We wanted to try both the breaded fried chicken and poached chicken so we ordered the half & half option. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy. I loved dipping it in the sweet & tart plum sauce on the side. However, the poached chicken was really dry and unappetizing, and I know a good poached chicken is supposed to taste fresh and juicy. The ginger-garlic rice was pretty light in seasoning, but delicious nonetheless. Both of our entrees were incredibly clean tasting -- not too greasy, and it didn't hurt my stomach after eating. I enjoyed both of the dishes we tried with the exception of the poached chicken which was way too over-cooked.

I'm…read morenot sure if there has been a change in management or the kitchen, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had here. The food was completely underwhelming, and when we shared our concerns with the staff, nothing was done to address them. The service was equally disappointing. Our server spent much of the time sitting on her phone while we waited for basic service like water refills, being asked about drinks, and receiving the drinks we ordered. We repeatedly had to get up and find someone just to receive attention. As for the food, the gyoza was bland and tasted like unseasoned pork. The lemongrass beef stew curry, which was highly recommended, arrived cold, had an odd texture, and lacked any real flavor. Most shocking of all were the drunken noodles. I've ordered them countless times over the years and always considered them among the best in Chicago. This time, I couldn't get past a single bite. Every dish was left unfinished. We didn't finish a single plate and didn't take any leftovers home--something that never happens for us. Between the poor service and incredibly disappointing food, this was an awful dining experience from start to finish. Unfortunately, after being a longtime customer, I won't be returning.
