I've come occasionally over the years and lived the royal tea. When I order it, sometimes it's completely too hot, so past time here, I asked for "not too hot" and voila. Asked this time, royal tea with bubbles, not too hot. Lo & behold, this time it has ice floating on top. Ummmm!? Questioned the "barista" and she explained quite matter-of-factly that she only has hot water, cold water, and ice, with which to make the drinK. And, because I wanted "not too hot" she added ice ... as if that we're her only option. So, when the ice melted, it was a lukewarm drink, barely warmer than body temperature. 2stars max for the drink and attitude & lack of skills and lack of customer service. read more

We ordered 2 drinks and the mango was awesome. The other (Ordered a large) was very diluted. They have a machine that prints a plastic cover which I found very interesting. I'm not sure how these offerings differs from a bubble tea. It seemed the same to me and on the plus side of bubble tea's they are way more cheaper. Would I go again, probably not. I thought it seemed a bit too pricey at about $5 a cup. I don't mind paying the $5 if there is/was a WOW factor and there was none. This is not to say that you shouldn't try it. If we're not at BAMBU, then we're here. I'm a sucker for the coolers anywhere I go and this place is no different. I love how I can customize my own flavors to my liking (I always end up choosing my favorite: strawberry with whatever flavor popping pearls I feel like that day). My husband is a die hard blueberry flavored-anything fan and has always enjoyed his drinks here with the tapioca pearls. I like this tea house as it is very intimate, but I will say it gets very chilly in the winter time! Hopefully with the new renovation this has been fixed. I got their white tea here and it was very aromatic and flavorful, just what I love about going to tea houses like these. I will say the cashiers weren't very vocal and I had to keep checking to see if it was ready yet. Sencha Tea Bar - Bubble Tea Near Me - Saint Paul, Minnesota

I was very excited when my girlfriend found a tea bar right in her neighborhood as I'd been missing my old haunt in Maine, and a week after discovering this place we've already decided to make it our hangout spot. The seating is very pleasant, a couch and a few comfy chairs and a bunch of tables. It's an easy setup for either work or socializing, and the noise level is decent for either of these things, not so quiet that you'll feel awkward talking but not loud either. The bathroom is a single and so it is gender neutral, no tampons available, no changing table, no bag hook. The tea selection is quite impressive, a whole binder for the menu up at the front sorting teas by type - tisanes, sencha, green, oolong, black, white, and pu'er. The selections are heavy on blends and lighter on plain teas but the plain teas have some decent options. I know they source partly from Adagio, but I think this is not their only source and I'm not at all sure of the others. There is also a good selection of iced teas including boba teas and all of the flavor shots, boba, and jellies you could ever want with the exception of ginger. Where this falls down is in the snack area. There are a couple of gluten-based cookies, some Japanese candy, and some little salads in the cooler. I'd like to see at a minimum a wider range of baked goods including gluten-free options, daifuku mochi, moon cookies, macarons, and fresh fruit. Being able to grab a snack here would be great. read more

No boba until two hours after they open..... this place is one of the worst. Take a drive and head to another boba / tea shop. This place is not worth it! The uptown Sencha location had hair in their boba and this location doesn't even have boba when you want it... won't be returning and they shouldn't offer boba. read more

The cashier was so nice I hadn't had milk tea before but I was interested in it. He gave milk teas that were on the sweeter kind and on the more earthy side (and stuff in between). I hadn't had milk tea before but now I'm tempted to go back for more maybe even try different kinds. The cashier did spend a chunk of time with a different people. So I recommend Sencha if you got some time. Also if you're looking for a refreshment that cools you down or even warms you up they have variety of hot and cold drinks. Once you find that perfect drink I guarantee you will keep coming back there. They did a great job with social distancing. I've been stopping through this location for many years and many incarnations (Tea Garden to Steepery to Sencha) when I visit friends and family up in the cities. The staff have always been kind, but have been even friendlier over the last few years. The drinks are tasty, and the dairy-free options are a big bonus for me and my bubble tea habit. Their menu runs the gamut of loose leaf teas served iced or hot, as well as many options for variations on milk tea with boba or jelly. My only complaint about the location is that it gets SO COLD here in the winter (especially in the bathroom!) They've been working on it, so hopefully I won't shiver so much next time I'm in! read more

The staff here were very friendly to my girlfriend and I. I love the wide variety of tea selections they had here for both iced and hot. My girlfriend got the chai and i got a mango pineapple iced tea. Both of our drinks were outstanding. We got them right before out dinner and infact went back after dinner for more tea! She got another chai and this time i got a lychee guava iced tea. We will come back here for teas again, soon hopefully! read more

This place will always be Tea Garden to me.. New name, new logo, and new menus but good ol' Tea Garden inside. The interaction with the staff has always been minimal; it's rare that we get a friendly/approachable folk behind the counter.... Sooooo.... know what you want, pay for your tab, and wait awkwardly in the corner. I typically go here for the shakes but have always wanted to try their loose leaf teas. For suggestions, Taro tea with half the pearls (if you're not a big tapioca pearl fan), guava or lychee shake with half the tri-color jellies or avocado shake with half the pearls (seasonal offer - typically the summer). When Tea Garden used to have a punch card, whenever it was time for my free beverage (yes, since I used to spend so much time at this place) I would ask them to make whatever they think sounds good; thought this was a great way to try new things out. read more

Coconut & Lavender Cooler on black tea with Aloe or Lychee Jelly is my absolute favorite combination!! This place is a perfect place for the hot and humid Minnesota weather. I make sure to stop by this place regularly to get my thirst quenched!! :P There are great flavor options for boba but also have a whole another level of selection for tea (everything from green, black, white, oolong, and everything). I love their jelly options as well. This is the first place where I found jellies to taste better than the regular tapioca balls. read more

There online shopping leaves a lot to be desired. If there is a issue with your order or if you have any questions the only way to communicate is through email. I have sent 3. Two for a billing issue, waited 2 days no response. Another email because they forgot the (apartment A) in the shipping address. I had to contact the retail location and ask them to pass my information to the correct department, hopefully I will get a response soon. Great spot for all the non coffee drinkers, or for those who want their caffeine without being too wired. This place is a nice alternative to a coffeeshop, as you can get your tea fix, as well as your boba/milk tea fix. Although the front counter area is quite of small, there is a more expansive area in the side and back. This place can totally serve as a place to study or get some work done. It doesn't seem to get too loud. Kind of has that cool zen, tea drinker vibe to it as opposed to the hipster'ish cold press coffee vibe. This place is classier than your typical boba/milk tea place, but seems to be more laid back than your typical coffeeshop. All in all, a great place to get a quick beverage, or to stay awhile and get some work done. (It may seem like I'm bagging on coffee and coffee drinkers, but really, I'm just pointing out how its nice to have alternatives). read more
