Donna Janzen was an amazing referral specialist! Over the course of several months, I went thru about 3 rounds of 5-10 retirement communities each, searching for a place for my grandmother. I lost count after I looked at over 25 homes. It was a particularly challenging search because over time my grandmother's needs kept changing. Donna continually revised her search after each needs changed completely undaunted. Not only that but she provided emotional support through phone calls and emails during the hardest time in my life. Being the only relative to deal with a grandmother with severe dementia who adamantly refuses to leave her home was an extremely difficult task, to say the least. I have longed to just sit down with my dad and have a cup of coffee without feeling the anxiety of wondering does he have enough groceries until I see him the next time, does he have all his medicine, does he need or have clean clothes, is his house clean, do I need to rearrange his furniture so he doesn't fall...and so it goes on that I do not relax and just enjoy him and... vice versa. you were absolutely terrific in helping me find a place for dad. I spent dozens of hours trying to find a place for him, figure out the MediCal and a half dozen other things. Two thoughts stick out in my mind. First I can't believe how unhelpful a dozen or more "experts" were. They sent me down rabbit trails, gave me wrong numbers and flat-out misinformation. I spent two half days at the county and no one told me about the Medical being unavailable for assisted living. Grrrrrrr... Second thought; you were a God-send. Personal, professional and proactive are the words I'd use to describe how you carried yourself. Boy, it has been long while since I've used your service. When I did call asking about board and cares I was given several names of places in my area. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the gentleman who helped me. He was very helpful with input on a couple of the places on the list. He was also good at follow up calling me at least 3 times after our initial contact. We did end up choosing one of the referrals for my mother's care, Angel Care, Fontana.
