After hiring them for $9000 I find myself spending hours doing their job. Would not recommend them use an attorney it will be better

The ALTCS process is extremely complex and time consuming. It is important to have detailed financial/medical documentation (going back several years) readily available. The Senior Planning team takes a divide and conquer approach to minimize the timeline for ALTCS approvals. They were proactive in improving medical coverage, and diligent with filing financial information. Don't use these people!! I started proceedings for ALLTCS for a friend and soon tried to cancel due to I found a place to take him that would accept his social security check. They were very rude, gave me a hard time. They said they would e-mail me something to sign but whatever they sent I was unable to sign or even copy. I have called and left several messages over the past several weeks but they continue to take money out of my account, so far over a thousand dollars which I cannot afford since I'm on social security. Now I'm going to have to find a way to pay a lawyer. read more

Looking for help for Seniors? BEWARE! My brothers POA and myself, hired Senior a planning to facilitate an ALTCS application in February 2023 and we got nothing- literally nothing for thousands of dollars! No communication, no return of voicemails, no one reached out to direct us on spend downs, to get prepared for the evaluation by Medicaid and the staff Stephanie & Christine, seemed unwilling or not knowledgeable of the actual process. When we raised concerns, there was minimal interest!We later discovered, after hiring another stellar planning service, Senior Planning's application to Medicaid was done incorrectly by Senior planning, thus we received a denial, which didn't allow for a free of charge appeal with the state! They dropped the ball completely, and would not return our calls on behalf of my brother. We followed up with letters to their billing department and their attorney and received no solution from them, or even an apology or explanation of the denial! Beware, I see that have had a few good reviews in the past but recent ones tell the same bad story. Don't waste your time or energy on this company!!! I'd highly recommend Strongholdfin.org who performed in record time and got my brother approved with amazing communication, care and professionalism. read more

Awful! Spent money and months doing everything they asked only to be told that Joanna had been giving wrong advice?!?! On top of an already heartbreaking situation this only added more stress rather than alleviate it which is what they were hired to do. When Joanna was confronted she denied her wrongdoing- when Jacob was confronted he protected Joanna no sympathy, no refund just wasted time and money. Senior Planning was a huge help with getting my Mother approved on ALTCS and VA benefits. I don't know how I would have done it without their help. Marcie and Deborah always answered my phone calls and knew it was me when they picked up the phone. The financial portion for us was very difficult and time consuming but they made it happen. It is very true that 70% of people do not get approved and using an attorney is far more expensive than what Senior Planning charges so I would highly recommend contacting Senior Planning. read more

I have been through quite a bit with Senior Planning on Central in Phoenix, along with my sister and brother-in-law. We spent months with this organization & right up front they took about $1800 from my family. If I knew they were going to take the money & run we would have backed out. From the beginning, the two women who run the place, Joanna & Marcie, knew I needed Assisted Living. In the end, they interviewed me for a nursing home with AHCCCS which should have been ALTEC. I qualified financially, but I would never have qualified for a nursing home. They stole my family's money, I had my hopes up so high and when the interview came I was shocked by not qualifying, of course, I wasn't, needing 24 7 care. I would be very careful getting involved with Senior Planning at all, they play with a straight face, what a shame there is still crooked business stealing elderly money. read more

I'm sooo greatful for Senior Planning! I applied for ALTECS last year by myself and it was frustrating and stressful to say the least.. worse of all, we were denied! I couldn't understand it and it took me 1 yr to decide to apply again, this time with help from Senior Planning. They are amazing and took all the stress out for me. This was a nightmare of constant follow up and them dropping the ball and not returning phone calls. Then they advise to get the supervisor involved but you have to schedule an appointment to talk to him. And that is a few days out and returns have several contacts. I sent them an email on the 12th saying I am the one that got him approved with ALTACS and have yet to get a reply from supervisor or account representative, today is the 19th. My suggestion save your money it was not worth it. you can do it yourself and save yourself alot of frustration. The account was closed for nearly 30 days and they did not even notify me. So I could have had him on ALTACS alot sooner if they did their job correctly. read more

I contacted Senior Planning to get a list of homes that accept ALTCS and Jennifer was wonderful. She sent us a list of homes with availability and offered to get us tours of the homes. We lived at a distance and she made it very easy. read more

This has been an awful experience. We paid Sr. Planning 15 months ago (in full) to file my mothers ALTCs application. We still do not have approval in spite of me sending everything requested to them timely (which is now well over 100 files and a copy of every canceled check she wrote). They also keep asking for current statements on accounts that have been closed. They lied and said she could get approved in her current home. Four months after they were paid, they said she could not get approved unless she moved to an assisted living facility that increased her rent by 66%! We get excuse after excuse with no end in site. It's too bad zero stars are not an option. Look elsewhere for assistance. We fully regret our decision. read more

I contacted Senior Planning to help us through the process while working with ALTCS for my mother. All of the reviews we saw were great. Do not be fooled. After 4+ months of getting nowhere and resubmitting forms, I called ALTCS directly to see what the remaining issues were. The case worker told me that the Senior Planning person had never submitted a complete application and was difficult to get ahold of (he didn't return the requested documents, didn't answer phone calls and rarely returned phone calls). At that point, I told Senior Planning that there services were no longer needed and I started working directly with ALTCS. We were able to complete the process relatively smoothly. I have since learned that I was misled by the Senior Planning representative regarding how much money my mother would be able to keep and use for herself. I cannot say how disappointed I am with the lack of service we received from Senior Planning. I never even got a followup phone call asking if they could do anything to better serve us. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more
