When they see family members come in, they act like they're super caring, but I've caught them several times ignoring the residents. Most of the residents look beat up and bruised from falling because they weren't being watched. The staff are thieves. Management could care less about anything. And your nickel and dimed for everything, you think you pay one price but your bill is several thousand dollars a month more. I was told one thing several times, but they never stick to their word they do what they want. I've never met a bunch of more uncaring people in my whole entire life. My parents were barely there for three weeks and couldn't wait to run away from that place as fast as possible. Don't fall for their bullshit.

It was good for quite a while, but now (Fall 2019) it is in turmoil. It is woefully understaffed (does it even meet code?). They can't retain people at any level, from primary caregivers to department managers. Pay levels and how staff is treated are both issues. The facility is nice, opening in 2016, but their management has taken a serious turn for the worse. The ownership of this facility is Morningstar Senior Management of Denver, CO. They provide no e-mail address, no complaint channel via e-mail, web or telephone, and no one on their executive team will either take a phone call or return a message. Sadly, we are going to look for another facility.

Although my grandma needed a high level of care , Corina and John and their staff did all they can to always make her feel at home and make sure she is living her last years to her maximum potential. I fully recommend this retirement home for anyone that wants a personable , loving , professional, clean and affordable experience. I can honestly say that I noticed my grandma getting better at times when I had no hope and it was all because of the amazing staff and care that American Dream Retirement home provides. Their retirement home is the best designed and equipped retirement home I've ever encountered - it is truly a site to see. I definitely recommend checking this place out before you consider any other business.

It was the second day it opened...a little over three years ago. From my apartment on the 10th floor I look east across the beautiful campus and see the McDowell Mountains and the rising sun each morning, as well as students scurrying, riding skateboards, and hurrying to class. Residents are also able to take classes tuition free and participate in many campus activities. It's an easy walk to the football and basketball facilities, and my favorite, baseball, is just four miles away. The Gammage Performance Center is an easy walk, as well as the many shops downtown. For transportation we have light rail that goes all over the Valley, just a short ride to see the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, or the Phoenix Symphony! Similar facilities are remotely located...go out the gate and see desert or a residential neighborhood. We have shops, groceries, a drug store, entertainment, and a movie theater! My one-bedroom apartment is spacious and comfortable with maintenance and cleaning included. Our computer/TV guy Trevor is one of the top five reasons to live here...get a new printer...he will make it work in no time!! Our maintenance people are prompt and pleasant for issues with appliances or repair of anything that comes up or to assist in special projects. We also have three restaurants serving a variety of new items as well as old favorites. Many ASU students work in the restaurants and our underground parking garage. None of us get into a hot car because it's all underground! Valets provide airport service and also drive those without with a car for appointments within a reasonable distance! Residents are also kept busy going all over the Valley in 15-passenger buses to varied locations. Many events and speakers are offered; it's sometimes impossible to do it all. One floor is designated as Assisted Living and another for Memory Care. So if you are thinking about moving from the big house that's heavy maintenance, don't wait until you have a fall or accident. Come here, meet new people, and join in the activities. If you have grown children, it's a great gift for us to all downsize and know there are people nearby to help as we grow older and less able to handle the burden of home ownership or living alone. I am quite grateful for the good care I received from the nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and the outdoor grounds are beautifully maintained. However, there were notable areas that need improvement. There were times when the care staff felt stretched thin, leading to slow response times when calling for assistance. Furthermore, communication between the administrative team and family members could be improved. A major concern was the doctors, who visit the facility sporadically; my wife was never able to speak with them. The biggest issue was the performance of the physical therapy team. There was no set schedule whatsoever, and they often rushed through sessions in just five minutes, combining physical and occupational therapy together. I tracked each visit to the gym, and we never reached the expected five sessions per week for either physical or occupational therapy. While it is a nice facility with a caring nursing staff, closely monitoring the therapy department, staffing levels, and doctor communication would make the experience much better.
