This review is for Dr. Susan Y. Lee…read more After being Dr. Susan Lee's patient for several years, I can confidently say she is one of the best physicians I have ever met. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly listens to her patients. I never felt rushed, and every visit left me feeling genuinely cared for. When Dr. Lee moved to the Irvine office, I was pleased to find that the same kindness, professionalism, and patient-centered care were reflected throughout her staff. As my family is moving to Northern California, I am saddened that I must find a new physician because of our insurance. Doctors like Dr. Lee are rare, and my family will always be grateful for the care she provided. I highly recommend Dr. Susan Lee to anyone looking for an outstanding primary care physician.

However, I was very…read moreuncomfortable during the internal exam because she had very long (more than an inch), manicured fingernails. For a provider performing intimate exams, this felt unprofessional. If there are policies regarding nail length or grooming for staff performing direct patient care, they may not be consistently enforced. If no such guidance exists, that raises broader concerns about oversight and patient experience. I hope leadership reviews this issue to ensure consistent professionalism and patient comfort moving forward.

I…read moreknow this because of the multiple calls I receive in a day from Bertha and some of first words out of her mouth are " The people here are nice to me!" These words are so comforting to me since her parents left their special needs daughter in my care. Recently Bertha's mother passed away and this was soon after she had visited Bertha at ActivCare. After the loss of her mother, there was so much love shown to Bertha by all the staff. Marlene M. the program specialist would frequently call and update me on how Bertha was feeling during this very difficult time. Marlene has made my life so much easier in so many ways by letting me know what Bertha needs, updating me on the activities she participates in and those she does not and how she is feeling emotionally. She often goes in her room to make sure Bertha's closet and room are in order. I know Bertha is well cared for! Bertha is a social butterfly and she enjoys talking with others. I have often dropped by, unannounced, and seen Marlene and Bertha laughing and talking. Marlene also engages lovingly with other residents as well. She is such a kind and caring human being. I feel as though she is a part of Bertha's family. Thank you ActivCare for choosing such wonderful staff!!! Sincerely, Darlene D.

My husband and I went to see Dr. Jon G Biorkman for an ear problem, and honestly, it was a very…read moredisappointing experience. A nurse or nurse practitioner asked a few questions. Then the doctor came in, looked into both ears for maybe two minutes, and said everything looked perfect -- no infection, no tear, no tumor. He said it might just be from the flu and could take up to three months to heal, but suggested doing a hearing test "just to be sure." He walked out, and the nurse came back saying the hearing machine wasn't available -- there was only one, and two patients ahead of us. When I said we could wait, she added that the test "wouldn't be conclusive" anyway, which honestly made no sense. It felt like she didn't want us to stay. I asked her how much it would cost since I'm self-pay, and she couldn't give me a clear answer -- said maybe "around $100 or something." A few minutes later, she came back saying the doctor now wanted us to go to an ENT instead and that he "saw something on the ear tube." I was confused because the doctor had just said everything was perfect. I asked to see him again. When he came back, he seemed frustrated, even though he spoke politely. He explained again that it could be from the flu, told us to chew gum, drink more water, use nasal spray, and that it might clear up. Then he said, "I don't have a crystal ball to tell you what's happening," which felt unnecessary. In the end, no test was done, and we left feeling like the whole visit was rushed and unclear. Later, we were charged $220 for that two-minute exam -- even though I was told over the phone that a self-pay visit would be around $160-$250 . When I asked about it, the front desk said it "depends on the doctor's coding." I honestly don't know what kind of code justifies that difference for such a short, unhelpful visit. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience left us very unhappy and confused. The doctor might be knowledgeable, but the visit felt dismissive, disorganized, and overpriced. Just be prepared -- you might walk out without answers but still with a big bill.

He has a logical disposition and maintains levels of communication necessary for patient recovery and understanding. He does not present with excessive pride commonly characterizing many medical professionals. He allows for in depth discussions to occur regarding the conditionality of the patient. I do not currently have any complaints about this individual. Dr. Jacqueline Malekirad is unimpressive, but nonetheless goodnatured. She is predisposed to gentleness. The structural properties of the office result in relatively quickened response times, however the phone directory may be slightly florid for individuals with difficulty in this regard. The medical assistants are unremarkable themselves however, inevitably excluding most of the nurses who typically remain in the back administering intravenous fluids to patients. Most of the nurses are kind and likely possess psychological compatibility with the majority of the population. Personally however, I do not appreciate what I consider to be excessive flamboyance. As of now, I cannot suggest insufficient competence exists at this office. Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024
