Many different caregivers from Right at Home have helped us with my mom. While some caregivers are…read morecertainly better than others there is one that deserves specific mention. Our mother has been in the hospital and due to quality of care issues we also had a Right At Home person staying with her when we could not be there. Through a series of events, we are still trying to understand, my mother's blood sugar dropped to 10. She started to have a seizure and went unconscious. Deidre from Right At Home sprang into action and got help right away. The Rapid Response Team came in and stabilized mom. She literally saved her life as NONE of the telemetry alerted the nursing station that something was happening with mom.

They have…read morebeen sending Home Health Aids and Care Companions to care for our 80 year old mother that is living with late stage dementia and her care needs exceed the caregivers abilities as defined by the State of Florida. We have severe concerns, but the process in resolving the issues is very slow as we are long distance caregivers, and our Mom's second husband filed for guardianship and was denied, however the State of Florida did appoint a Guardian temporarily and she seems to have great influence over Right at Home to the detriment of our Mom's safety and well being. We believe Right at Home needs to separate themselves from the direction of the Guardian and Mom's husband. They have a legal obligation to follow the laws regarding in-home care services and ensuring the caregivers they send out to provide 24 hour in-home care meet the minimum standards as defined by Florida Law. I do want to say that the caregivers three caregivers I have meet from Right at Home are very nice people, but they do recognize they are crossing boundaries in providing care they are not qualified to provide based on their status as companions and Home Health Aids. Right at Home is putting these ladies in jeopardy on many levels as well as putting our Mom at extreme injury to herself and possibly even premature death.

This review is for the interactions via the phone and in person with several of the staff members,…read morebased on three to four interactions. Specifics will not be made due to HIPPA privacy which I take very seriously and expect others to do the same. I found one staff member to be very personable by phone, but slightly demoralizing in tone (possibly meant well, I do tend to believe the best about people). I can't explain the exact way it was said, but there was so much focus put on externals, or not asking what the client needed, but telling me what they planned on giving potential clients. Another staff member was pleasant to deal with by phone but lacking in personal service details, offering unsolicited advice unrelated to the potential job at hand. However helpful, it was rude and actually insulting, resulting in further impressing potential client to not go with this company. Something was also said in one of the client's absence to another family member that was demoralizing, which they didn't want to share until later because it would have possibly affected client's morale and treatment. Summation: the level of customer service that is being offered at this particular locale is not up to par for this line of work, in reviewer's opinion and experience. I wouldn't say anything in a review that I would not say, and probably didn't already say, to someone's face. Realizing people have an "off" day or that miscommunications can arise, the burden is on the provider of care to interact with the clients and family in a way that brings well-being to a client, and a sense of pride and accomplishment to the staff. Been on both sides of that fence so I know of what I speak and try to treat others kindly whether or not they are in a position to do something for me. Hope this feedback helps others to adjust their demeanors accordingly so that their business may prosper in the future with other seniors and or disabled community participants.

The issue is the office that takes care of scheduling and billing. There are consistent problems with billing amounts and frequency. When I asked for a detailed document outlining the the dates and amounts of the bills, I got an email with one sentence of incorrect response. No document, no dates, no amounts. I know this because I did a detailed inspection of the bills to my credit card, and found that they double billed me services more than once, and wrong amounts multiple times. I have terminated their services, and will be notifying the Florida Board of Nursing, as well as Comfort Keepers Corporate of this situation. In my opinion, you should look elsewhere for an in-home care giver.

Dr Darla Broderick-Breit, is my Mom's primary care physician who regularly visits us and takes amazing care of Mom! From recommending vitamins (not just prescriptions!) to demonstrating stretching exercises (she actually got down on our floor to show us!) that can help relieve Mom's hip pain, she goes above and beyond in her care. She actually listens to her patients; providing both compassion and tough love (truth) as needed. My Mom and I are impressed with her intelligence, experience, quick wit and dedication to her professional calling. Thank you MPS for always sending us good, caring providers! From wound care to lab draws, everyone that has come to the house is wonderful! We feel so blessed to have found you!

Mine was Dr Payne. This woman takes a much more conservative view on prescribing medication than any other doctor I've ever encountered, and stated that many doctors "do things they shouldn't." She even gratuitously criticized my board certified allergist for allowing a nurse to provide my allergy injections at my home. I had to leave this practice and go elsewhere to get the medication I need and always received from other doctors.
