This restaurant can be opened only because there is absolutely no competition in Gainesville area. My girlfriend and I ordered a army stew pot that cost $29USD. However, there are only few pieces of meat and most of the food are processed sausage or ham. I made a army stew soup myself long while ago despite I failed, it taste just like the soup we ordered. In addition, this is the ONLY Korean restaurant I have ever been to that don't serve the full multiple appetizers nor single person spicy tofu soups, which are the heart and soul of the Korean food. Since I live in Miami, I wanted to help make her dinner/karaoke celebration special from afar, so I had a balloon bouquet delivery set up. The entire team (the female manager, Elena, a very nice young man, etc) at Seoul Pocha was incredibly helpful in assisting me in setting up the ballon surprise in the days leading to her reservation. I love Seoul Pocha! I eat here as frequently as I can! While it is a little more expensive than some other restaurants nearby, the quality of the food is 100% worth it. Love this restaurant! Food is amazing and in large portions to split with others and side dishes are Kimchi is on sweeter side but really good! Our server was super sweet and helpful with it being our first time here. The hostess was amazing. The octopus dumplings were great. The corn dog was disappointing because we expected there to be a sausage in it based on prior Yelp reviews. There was only cheese. The jjol sam myeon was flavorful but extremely spicy to the point that we barely ate a quarter of it. The waiter said the dish wasn't spicy before we ordered it. Our waiter was very uninformed on the menu. When we gave this restaurant a second try, this dish on the newly printed menu had the max number of chili peppers next to it. The busboy kept trying to bus plates with food still on it and touched our eating utensils twice. After two tries, we probably won't be coming back again. read more

We brought a group here for a fun night of karaoke and we had An absolute blast from ranging to Justin Bieber to one direction and nysnc and Backstreet Boys to random songs I've never even heard of.... I really really really wish that they would update the machine so that it would have more diversity with music because lots of singers have released more songs since the machine first came out so if they added more songs I would be extremely grateful .... Other than that it was a fun night of food and karaoke oooooh I almost forgot about the food I had some grills steak over veggies and white rice it was delectable food and they handled the allergies well too read more

Most disappointing meal I've had all year. For 44 bucks (not including tip) I got fried chicken and a beef noodle side dish. The chicken was just ok, far from the best I've had and just slightly overcooked to where some pieces were too dry to eat and others were passable. Good crunch but seasoning was minimal. The noodles were greasy, relatively flavorless and had only a few tiny scraps of meat, also very few vegetables. It was mostly just greasy, flavorless noodles. The prices here are outrageous, on par with trendy Korean fried chicken places I've been to in NY and Boston. But this place looks like a shady local watering hole from the outside more than a legit Korean restaurant, and food quality is sub-par. I won't even be eating my leftovers! read more

This place used to be good, but management has really let it slide. The quality and care in preparing the food and platting the food has gone down since I moved here a year ago. Last two times I've gone now, I was served undercooked fried chicken (pink and slimy on the inside). Hopefully they do better at fixing their shortcomings than Bequeholic, place is literally breaking down. And the portions for their meat in some of their dishes has also been significantly reduced without a reduction in price. The beef bulgogi and pork jeyeuk were 70% bean sprouts and veggies respectively. Anyway, miss the old days! read more

I was excited to try this new Korean restaurant in Gainesville since we only have a handful of Korean food options. I tried the bulgogi hotpot, crispy pork, and the okonomiyaki. The items were reasonably for the portions (I shared amongst 3 other people.) I really enjoyed the bulgogi hotpot! I would pick Seoul Pocha's bulgogi hotpot over the other ones I've tried at the other Korean restaurants in town. The space was also clean, spacious, and had an adequate amount of seating. The service was okay, but I understand that they're just starting out so I can see they're trying. Definitely coming back to try other food items! read more

I took my friend there last night for her birthday. Portions were HUGE to match their high prices. Why not charge a reasonable price and give a normal portion size? My $23 order had "calamari" in it as well as pork belly. When I got it there were no pieces of calamari body just very large pieces of very large tough tentacles that looked to be tips from a small octopus rather than delicate calamari, the pork belly was very thin and tough as well. When I said something she said "yes octopus, same thing". I said no it is not the same thing and she ignored it. Each of our portions could have easily fed 2 people. My friends $35 short rib order was over cooked to where the meat shredded....not succulent. Like many other plates in the restaurant her order had a true mountain of bean sprouts on the plate. No Kim chee was offered, no grills on the tables, very dissatisfied. read more

The army stew was very hearty with sausage, hot dogs, fish cake, tofu and spam!!! It wasn't too spicy and it cooks right at your table. My husband and I could barely finish it. Actually impressed with the authentic korean food here.. I had been looking for toek bokki all around the town and finally got to try it here. The pricing is a bit top but the portions are humongous!! I wish the server had told us how big the portions were because I felt like a pig ordering 3 dishes... the jajangmyeon was delicious too but too big of a portion. The Korean fried chicken is a huge serving. And it's really yummy - crispy and well flavored skin. Juicy chicken. Jap chae is definitely not boring - it has amazing flavor and texture. It was a dark and humid February Thursday night, we had already spent 5 hours on the lonesome highway pacmanning the white dotted lines on our way back to O-town. We still had two hours to go and to our hungry stomachs demise, nothing was open but a Waffle House and a bakers dozen legs at Cafe Risqué... you do the meth, I mean math. We let out a YELP! As our appetite for food destruction got turned to 11 when all of a sudden out of the smoky hot pot of Seoul, Seoul Pocha kicked down our food dam door and hot damn did we find the spiciest spot on America's anaconda. Hannah greeted us, and even behind her mindful mask we could tell she was happy we were there even though they were about to close up shop at 11:30pm. We ordered everything on the menu, no we didn't, but we may as well have as we feel bad for everything we didn't try. Not only did these delicious delicacies come out fast, they whipped their way through our frothing face holes, down to our barren bellies and spiced up our lives, to say the least about this feast. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, but that's all there is to the place. The water pitcher came out with the bone of an already eaten chicken wing at the bottom of it. The pictures of the food from other reviews on Yelp look great, but the only decent dish was the fried chicken which was mediocre at best. I would have much rather gone to BequeHolic instead. read more
