We wanted to try a little bit of everything so we ordered several things to share. We ordered Korean corn dogs and takoyaki for appetizers, both of which were delicious. The Korean corn dogs were sweet and savory and the takoyaki was tasty and filled with veggies and has a potato starch consistency. For entrees, we ordered Korean fried chicken, spicy squid & pork bulgogi, and Jjol Sam Myeon (K-style chewy noodles w/ pork belly). All were delicious, I really enjoyed the Jjol Sam Myeon and the Korean fried chicken *chefs kiss*. For beverages, they serve beer, soju, wines, tea, and sodas. They also have a dessert bar that consists of pre-wrapped ice cream bars. Soooo Yummy that I went 2 days in a row!! 1st day I ordered Japchae and Bulgogi for me and the kids had the popcorn chicken. I was very satisfied with my choices. Loved the food so much that I was craving it so went with the Galbi Jim ribs as well and WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! I saw the pictures of the tteok-boki on Yelp and had to try it out. I'm used to tteok-boki coming as a stir-fried spicy/sweet rice cake dish, but when I saw they made it in a hot pot version, I just had to try it out. Since I had already gotten brunch earlier, I ended up ordering it to go. They did an amazing job packaging it. They put all the raw ingredients into a big lasagne-like pan, and the broth and sauce in separate tupperware containers, so none of it was soggy. All I had to do when I got home was boil the broth and put the ingredients in. Everything tasted great! It is a little on the sweeter side (like how rice cake tteok-boki), I would have liked it to be a little spicier. Portion size was very generous. The lady said it is supposed to feed 2 people, but I could definitely finish it myself in 1 sitting. Then again I have an olympian hot pot appetite lol. With several Korean restaurants in the area, I wasn't sure what Seoul Pocha would bring, but it actually fills a void that's been missing for a very long time: street food/late nite treats and karaoke! I was really impressed with all of the staff and customer service. Portions are served family-style and presentation is spot-on. The green onion fried chicken is the closest thing to authentic Korean fried chicken. It's got a nice crispy batter and chicken is cut roughly into large chunks (unlike conventional thigh/breast/wings) so just be careful of biting into bone if you're not used to it. The honey mustard sauce has a little horseradish in it for a nice kick and the green onions are tossed in a light, tangy dressing. The okonomiyaki (a Japanese seafood crepe dish) is full of umami from the first bite to the last, augmented by the bonito flakes and the big chunks of seafood. The Land Sea Air has a slight variation on the typical sweet and sour with each protein, encased in a nice simple breading. If you can't make up your mind on what to get, just get this The cheese pork cutlet/tonkatsu comes with a nice brown sauce that tastes traditional and like most tonkatsu places I've had in other Korean restaurants. The giant egg roll was delicious and is more than enough to share with 3-4 people. For those that are not fans of cream cheese, look elsewhere. Lastly, the budae jjigae (army stew) is a hearty portion and was perfect on a chilly day. It is one of the staples for guilty pleasures and originates from using leftovers/emergency rations during the Korean War. There's still so much to try so I'll be back again and again. I'm so glad Seoul Pocha opened recently and is so close to my place. It's my go-to dinner spot with friends after work and I can count on it being open until late. The food comes in relatively big portions that can easily be shared with others and it's all comfort Korean food to me! I'd recommend the army soup/stew and their fried chicken! They even have karaoke rooms I need to try still, but have heard good things about. The staff are also attentive and friendly and are eager to help if needed as the menu may seem unfamiliar to some! The Patak KFC-beautful presentation a tower of crispy fried chicken drizzled with a sweet sauce and topped with thinly sliced green onions served with a spicy mustard sauce for dipping. Korean corndog-crunchy sweet and savory yummyness. Eel rice bowl-the eel was so tender and fresh. Glass noodles with shrimp-the veggies and the sauce were good but the shrimp were tiny:(. Takoyaki- octopus balls made of wheat flour drizzled with sauce green onion slices and bonito flakes had a different kind of texture, it was good ( if you don't like seafood or different jelly-like texture then you should pass on this one). This restaurant can be opened only because there is absolutely no competition in Gainesville area. My girlfriend and I ordered a army stew pot that cost $29USD. However, there are only few pieces of meat and most of the food are processed sausage or ham. I made a army stew soup myself long while ago despite I failed, it taste just like the soup we ordered. In addition, this is the ONLY Korean restaurant I have ever been to that don't serve the full multiple appetizers nor single person spicy tofu soups, which are the heart and soul of the Korean food. We brought a group here for a fun night of karaoke and we had An absolute blast from ranging to Justin Bieber to one direction and nysnc and Backstreet Boys to random songs I've never even heard of.... I really really really wish that they would update the machine so that it would have more diversity with music because lots of singers have released more songs since the machine first came out so if they added more songs I would be extremely grateful .... Most disappointing meal I've had all year. For 44 bucks (not including tip) I got fried chicken and a beef noodle side dish. The chicken was just ok, far from the best I've had and just slightly overcooked to where some pieces were too dry to eat and others were passable. Good crunch but seasoning was minimal. The noodles were greasy, relatively flavorless and had only a few tiny scraps of meat, also very few vegetables. It was mostly just greasy, flavorless noodles. The prices here are outrageous, on par with trendy Korean fried chicken places I've been to in NY and Boston. But this place looks like a shady local watering hole from the outside more than a legit Korean restaurant, and food quality is sub-par. I won't even be eating my leftovers! read more

My $23 order had "calamari" in it as well as pork belly. When I got it there were no pieces of calamari body just very large pieces of very large tough tentacles that looked to be tips from a small octopus rather than delicate calamari, the pork belly was very thin and tough as well. When I said something she said "yes octopus, same thing". I said no it is not the same thing and she ignored it. Each of our portions could have easily fed 2 people. My friends $35 short rib order was over cooked to where the meat shredded....not succulent. Like many other plates in the restaurant her order had a true mountain of bean sprouts on the plate.
