So I purchased a perfume here for my daughter's graduation and lost the receipt. Yes my fault ! But I called this location right before I went there to make sure they can exchange it since I purchased it with Apple Pay. They said oh yea no problem just incase bring the physical card. So we're up to exchange, Erica is trying with apply pay and card and nothing pops up. So she goes on to ask what's the date ? So I show her on my phone the receipt from Apple Pay date and time she says yea sorry I can't find it and is trying to push me away. I tell her well this is why I called before and ask if we can figure something out. She then tells me " Do you want me to magically make the receipt appear" she says you have to call customer service ! I was trying to show her on my phone and she's like yea ok very rude ! I'm not someone to argue or complain and I'm very patient and I myself go above and beyond for my customers but wow. So I Call customer service and they literally tell me I have to go back to that store. I ended up calling the Cerritos location and a very nice girl named Kimberly "very sweet" was trying to help me over the phone says yes we can pull up receipts for a week but at the same location. she was trying every way to help the situation even though it wasn't at her location and I very well appreciated that. Called back and Lori had to submit a ticket because seems like my purchase is somehow lost on that date ! I've been going to Sephora's for many years w/ my daughters. However, this trip was for just myself to pick up Mascaras that I pre ordered the day before. So, when I arrived it was not busy at ALL. I did notice quite allot of sales personnel. I went and area and stood next to the signage for Pre-ordered (that was located to the left side of the Cashers counter . No one welcomed me or even acknowledged that I was even there. I was waiting quite awhile. Although there were several staff members that just passed me by. Finally, I again saw a salesgirl and said, "Can you please help me. I had pre-ordered 3- mascaras yesterday . So, she was nice . I mentioned to her I was waiting quite a long time. I am writing to formally report an extremely upsetting experience my family and I had at your Sephora location. My mother, who is currently battling stage four pancreatic cancer and has lost her hair and eyebrows due to treatment, visited the store with me to find a new eyebrow shade and stencils to help her feel more confident during this difficult time. When we entered the store, we were warmly greeted and began browsing. We were assisted by an employee named Natalie, who provided exceptional service. She was patient, kind, and compassionate. She walked us through several products from the Anastasia line, explained the differences, and even demonstrated how to use the eyebrow powder and stencils my mother had already purchased. My mother was visibly tired, so I asked if she could sit for a moment at one of the beauty stations, which had no signage indicating any restrictions. Natalie continued helping us with genuine care and empathy. However, the positive experience changed when the manager, Ingrid approached. Instead of allowing Natalie to finish assisting us or addressing the matter privately, she pulled Natalie aside -- only about a foot away -- still in full earshot of my mother. She told Natalie, in a stern tone, that she "cannot be doing that" and that my mother "cannot be sitting here" because Natalie is "not a licensed aesthetician." She instructed her to ask us to move and reprimanded her directly in front of us. My mother's face immediately showed hurt, embarrassment, and sadness. She nearly cried. Natalie apologized to us, clearly uncomfortable, and continued assisting us as best she could. I addressed Ingrid directly and explained that we had asked for help and that Natalie was simply being kind to a customer in need. Ingrid responded coldly that it "doesn't matter" because Natalie is "not allowed" and insisted we needed to move. Her tone was dismissive and lacked any professionalism, compassion, or basic courtesy -- especially given my mother's condition. After the interaction, I told Ingrid how upsetting her behavior was and how unnecessary it was to reprimand her employee in front of us, especially with my mother visibly weakened and emotional. Ingrid insisted she "had to" handle it that way, denied doing it in front of my mother despite being only inches away, and offered no apology or empathy. Her demeanor was rude, insensitive, and completely inappropriate for someone in a leadership position. It created an environment that felt discriminatory toward a senior and a cancer patient simply seeking help. The entire experience left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome. Although we still purchased what we needed for my mother's emotional well-being, I left seriously considering closing my recently opened line of credit with Sephora due to this incident. I want to emphasize that Natalie provided outstanding service and should be acknowledged for her compassion and professionalism. However,Ingrid's conduct reflects poorly on Sephora and does not align with the values of inclusivity, support, and respect that your company promotes. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and addressed appropriately. No customer -- especially someone battling a life-threatening illness -- should ever be treated this way. Brand new, and fully stocked! I was next door looking for a duvet cover and was shocked that Sephora opened here in Downey! I decided to come and get The Ordinary toner. Also grabbed some other goodies as well as the Summer Fridays lip butter balm. I couldn't believe they were fully stocked on all the flavors! Destiny was so helpful. She was able to look up my purchase history and assisted me with the correct eye cream I was looking for. I had purchased a retinol eye cream last time and needed one with caffeine. This store is clean, well lit, lots of staff to assist, and has everything you could possibly need for your beauty regimen. I think I have way too many points here and I don't care, I'll just keep coming back anyway so my points will continue to rack up. I grabbed my items and went to make a purchase. I asked the cashier if they had any samples, normally they throw in a few and are really kind. This time, they told me they had none left and that if I wanted samples, I'd need to use my points to buy them. Then, right in front of me, two employees started talking about how if people want free samples, they should shop online. They finished my transaction, and I said, "I guess I'll buy online next time." A few steps later, I decided to walk back in and request a refund. I'd rather not spend at a Sephora that hires cashiers who make snide comments about customers within earshot. Madison P is the best! I was thinking of gate keeping this but thought I would be doing a disservice to the Yelp community therefore I'm sharing this with the Yelp world. I randomly decided to get a full face makeup done at this location and toss the dice with going with any artist since it's a fairly new location and I didn't see many reviews for any of the artist. I was assigned to Madison P and it was the best luck I've gotten with makeup artist. She is amazing! She looked at my inspo pics and nailed the look I wanted. She's the sweetest and so patient. Usually I dread sitting in a makeup chair for too long and the time just flew by with Maddie cause she's so sweet and easy to talk to. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a great experience on Wednesday with Alex at Sephora that I had to share. I walked in feeling overwhelmed with so many products, and I had no idea where to start with my makeup routine. Alex immediately made me feel comfortable. She listened without judgment, asked the right questions, and honestly felt like a friend who just gets it. I wasn't embarrassed at all admitting I don't really know much about make up because she was so easy to talk to. She helped me build a routine that fit my skin and my budget, and even gave me tips l'd never thought of. I left feeling confident, excited, and really taken care of!! Can't say enough positive things about this location. Alex helped me with color matching my foundation. We started in the Haus labs then tried some Dior shades which suited my complexion. I went in today for help with color matching with One Size powders. I'm 44 and chubby so associates sometimes don't really pay attention to me. It's not just At Sephora, it's at Ulta too. It honestly doesn't bother me or make me feel bad. I feel like you have to be young and pretty for someone to really pay attention to you. Angel helped me color match. I had not shopped at Sephora in years and decided to give this store a shot since it's so close to home. I always avoided shopping at Sephora mainly because I felt the service was very hawkish and aggressive. Well, I'm glad I stopped by today to get shade matched. My sister and I were greeted right away and asked what we were there for today. We said shade matched and they were on it! They immediately radioed someone to us for that shade match. We were assisted by Angel and well, he basically is one . So happy with his shade matching skills and overall personality. I didn't feel the pressure to purchase but I did anyway because of the effort and experience. Checking out was easy and fast. So I entered the store one day it was right before holidays which was my mistake, I already went in knowing what I wanted which was a lip liner from rhode. I was looking in the section for it and this elderly lady that worked there let me know that theres more shades in the front where the minis are. So I went to check the front not knowing that she meant that about the peptide treatments and not the lip liners... so I went back just to double check making sure that I didn't misread any of the shade labels for the liners when, an employee with blonde hair didn't even greet or approach me mind you... shouts at me " WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?". If this woman wanted to ask what I was looking for couldn't she have simply approached me and greeted me first then asked and not shouted at me about what I was looking for? I walk in and ask for assistance but the person who spoke stated "We can point the direction where the product is but not help you with everything." I went to Cerritos Sephora and that store had a line for Dashers to get assistance with their list that consisted of +5 items for +2 orders. This store has poor management.
