stopped by for acrylic supplies since i was close by after my workout. i've been here a couple of times, so i'm not really familiar with the store layout. the acrylics selection was *very* limited so i asked an older lady working there if that section was the only supplies they had, but she just looked me up & down before answering with her own question, "umm.. do you have an account with us?".. & *of course*, silence from her until i confirmed i did, then she finally answered "yes, this is all we have." it was a weird, kinda uncomfortable interaction.. i don't have the app to scan, & i didn't have my ID on my person, so she didn't let me buy what i settled on, lmao.. i could've gotten my ID from my car tbh, but she was so weird with me that i just wanted to leave already.. comfort over convenience; i'll stick to other locations lol read more

Not happy. Because of Covid they are only letting in I believe may be five customers at a time and that's OK but the problem is they let women in with their kids so that right there they are counted for which they should not do so the mother with three kids count as 4 customers so you're waiting a very long time other than that they need to change that it should be they should have to count the kids. read more

I love this location because they have a huge selection. I went there today and was able to find everything I needed. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. Very rude staff!! Right when I walked in they just kept staring at me! No hello, or can I help you with anything..! So I went up to one of the ladies to ask for help choosing a hair color that would work for me, she just looked at me and said "you have to be a member to shop here, we're not open to the public." I had no idea that it was not open to the public, Which I completely understand, no problem. I then left the store. I did not appreciate the rude staff. And that is why it's "not open to the public". The staff has aways been very helpful and go out of there way to order your necessities. As a professional I can attest the product and variety is great. However, the new employees that work there need to work on their customer service skills. Neither of the two employees working were knowledgeable about hair color. All we got was, "Um..yeah..I don't know. I don't think so" when asked if they carried perm color vs. semi perm of a specific brand. Granted, we got there close to closing but instead of asking if we needed help finding something and making a sale, we were told "Oh we're closed already. We need to close the register". No, sorry but we open tomorrow at this time or nothing. I think I'll be going to SalonCentric from now. read more

Customer service is terrible at this Cosmoprof. Ruby, the manager refused to do a return of a shampoo and conditioner because the pumps were open. The purchase was still within the 30 days. Nowhere on the receipt says you cannot return open hair products. She's rude and has a terrible attitude. read more

Sigh. I'm a big fan of CosmoProf. But THIS location is just crap. Every time I go, the workers are standing in the aisles gossiping. And when u ask a question, they all turn around and stare at u like u are intruding on their conversation. Today, I asked one of the workers a question, and she completely ignored me! At first I thought maybe she didn't hear me, but a few minutes later, she says "I will help u with your question in un momento ok pero because we r muy busy". I've been a customer at this Cosmoprof for about 7 years and the staff has always been very very helpful. They are extremely polite and professional. I'm greeted by all staff as I walk in or as I walk thru the aisles. The best part is growing a relationship between the staff and I. They know me by name, and it makes every visit a wonderful experience. As a hairstylist/ colorist I'm here a few times a week and it's important to me to have this wonderful relationship with this staff. The store is always clean and tidy which makes each visit pleasant and easy to shop for my business needs. Sometimes the store can be busy which is a wonderful sign of great business, busy as they are they still give you awesome attention and help you with questions and needs. So be patient we all get busy. I'm very happy I have this Cosmoprof here and content to call it my Cosmoprof store. Thank you Cosmoprof of Downey. Exceptional service! Every time I've come i personally have always had great service, a good morning, hello and a nice visit no matter the time or day. I'm writing the review today because today the gentleman working this morning shift sure did a wow factor !! It truly is the smallest acts of kindness that can go a long way. I was short just a few cents causing me to need to use my debit card but instead the kind man reached into his pocket sparing the remaining change I was short. Not because I couldn't afford it, not because I needed it because I could've paid the rest few cents by just paying with my card. I love Cosmoprof! First time I went to the Downey location the other day and products I wanted were limited. They did not have the CND SpaManicure Citrus Hydrating Lotion in the liter size. They were also sold out on the Hempz Triple Moisture Whipped Body Creme - I was looking forward to trying this out. Also out of the Hempz Cucumber Jasmine Lotion. I was able to get the Hempz Vanilla Plum Lotion, small CND lotion and Cuccio Lavender Chamomile Lotion and some cotton pads. Hopefully they'll have more in stock on my next visit. read more
