The store has always been my favorite but I had a horrible experience trying to exchange a defective product that was outside the 30 day policy. My first experience with this store was last Saturday, April 16, 2022. I decided to treat myself to a 'makeover'. I had an appointment and was immediately greeted upon entering. I did notice that each customer was greeted the same way. My makeup artist, Morgan, was AMAZING! The entire staff was very warm and friendly. While I was being made over, the manager, Sarah, came and introduced herself to me. I did purchase the products as I needed some fresh makeup. Morgan showed me how she did everything but when I took off my makeup, I completely forgot how to do it. I stopped by yesterday and they were able to accommodate me today. Today Morgan took me step by step. She did one eye and I did them other. Since we had lots of time, She removed it and did another look using colors from the same palette I had purchased. Finally, Morgan volunteered to e-mail me step by step instructions. The way customer/client service was meant to be. As an aside, I went next door to Qdoba to pick up dinner for my family. A young girl about 13 went by and said 'by the way, you are very pretty'. A compliment in Qdoba, what are the odds? Guess having the right artist makes all the difference. As soon as my teenage daughter and I walked in we saw 3 female employees near the entrance. One said hello and then they proceeded to ignore us. I was unable to find what I came for and if it wasn't for the male employee who asked if I needed help, I would have just left. How many of you have ever felt personally victimized by Sephora? Most of us? That's what I thought. If you go to this Sephora, and you're looking to get over your fears of Sephora, find Jade. In a capitalist society where hardly any of us make a living wage, including the girls at Sephora, it's easy to walk in there and ironically get treated like a peasant or pressured to buy either a) everything or b) the most expensive brand, and then treated even worse if we came in on a budget. Not only that, but if we don't have the best makeup technique or products currently (Hello, that's why I came here?!) or don't wear a full face, we are often scoffed at by the employees. I've already sent an essay-long review/survey to Sephora's website, but I wanted to make sure that this was viewable to customers, especially those who are afraid to go in to Sephora for advice, samples, or just *god forbid* one or two items. We were greeted quickly. Asked for Color IQ. We were handed off to Jade, who immediately gave me a huge, warm smile and some witty, charismatic conversation while she got my color IQ. She asked me whether I was purchasing a foundation today and I said no, waiting until my current is out, but wanted a better match. Jade carried on with the EXACT same enthusiasm helping me. She tried 6 swatches or so in a few of the recommended brands, picked her favorite matches for me, but asked for my opinion as well. She grabbed me two samples, no sweat. She asked if there was anything else I needed and I explained I had heard that Color IQ also finds eyeshadow matches (I came in wanting to buy a fun color for my summer vacation). This wasn't true but it did suggest lip colors. Once again Jade listened to what I liked and wanted and gave me all of her personal experience with the recommended brands, then showed me to the Sephora line for a coral orange since I wanted something exciting. I talked to Jade for about 15 minutes and I kinda wanted to be her best friend after. Jade is beautiful, and her makeup is on point, and she made me feel beautiful coming in with a bare face that has blemishes and just rolled off a pillow. She talked to me about full face options and minimal looks, gave me honest opinions on colors I tried, was super knowledgeable about colors and brands for each product I was interested in. Jade made me feel gorgeous and unique and bad ass, when I'm used to leaving these stores feeling inferior and beat up. I felt so great. She's genuine, and she can sell you what you WANT, not what she's told to push. My sister was with me and needed some help, so I recommended Jade. I gave 4 stars because of another employee. I would've give 7 stars to Jade! After Jade helped me, I browsed some more. A red head girl came up and asked if I needed anything. I was looking at perfumes and asked if they had any smaller samples in one of the scents. She said 'we don't have them but we make them for the customers'. She doesn't ask if she can make me one, I have to say, 'okay... Yeah I'd like a sample of this one, please!' feeling like a giant bother. Mind you the store had just opened and hardly anyone was there. I wouldn't have asked for a sample if nobody asked to help me. It gets worse! She came back 2 seconds later (wow, sorry for all the hard work!) and I said "I'm so sorry to be a jerk! but I just found another I'd like to compare to this one, could I have a sample of this, too?" she then looks down at my hands and sees the 2 foundation samples Jade had given me and says, ".... Sure but just so you know, the sample limit is 3 per customer." I didn't know that when I was given foundation samples. I wasn't trying to take advantage. (also, note to Sephora - maybe limit should be 4 samples when comparing two types of products?) I hate asking for free shit, but if there's an option to try before spending $100 on a scent when I already have plenty, I'm gonna take that opportunity. I felt really empowered and not like an inconvenience for ONCE in a Sephora after talking with Jade and then this girl gives me the same treatment I'm used to, and brings me back down to not liking being there. I felt cheap, I felt skeezy, and I felt like I didn't belong once again. She really cheered up at the register, though. Maybe manager was watching? She should be more comfortable in a Target asking, "can I help you find something?" as opposed to "can I help you with anything?" it seems like the first option is more her style. All that being said, give Jade her own store or makeup line or TV show or whatever. She is beautiful inside and out. I can't explain how many positive feelings I felt from her. I will return to this Sephora because of Jade, and I suggest you look for her, too, if Sephora has victimized you! read more

This store is a bit of a drive from my hometown, but it was worth it! After reading positive reviews of the Color I.Q. system, I decided to see if I could *finally* find a foundation that matches. (It does - perfectly. It's awesome.) The make-up artist there was wonderful! I've never been to a store like this, and she made it so much fun and very informative. I learned a new make-up technique that completely changed how I put on foundation. My only complaint about Sephora is the pricing. I've been using drugstore products for over 10 years now. This is a huge price jump from what I was purchasing in the past. Once the sticker shock wore off, I allowed myself to just enjoy the experience of it all. Never once was I made to feel like an inconvenience or a walking wallet. In the past, I've steered away from department stores because of the pressure to buy and the desperation of a commission-based seller. Not here! I was even encouraged to take samples home. I would recommend this place to anyone who is intimidated with shopping for cosmetics as the people who work here will go the extra mile to make sure you leave with something you love. read more

If I could I would give this store a 0 I was appalled at the service there. Not once was I approached during my hour long visit. I was looked at but never welcomed or asked if I needed help. I was looking for holiday items but left with nothing because no associate asked me if I needed assistance. I noticed other customers were being helped but I was not acknowledged. I had never had a problem with a Sephora before but at this location even the cashier was rude. I work in customer service and I know that this is not how you treat customers who come to spend their money at your store. Came in looking to find a good concealer and no one greeted me. Very unfriendly, no one asked me if i needed help. Why spend my money here if i cant even get a simple welcome in? They're too busy giggling and talking to each other. These broads here look terrible anyway. One was so busy on her "mic" they have she almost walked into me and didnt say anything! Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. Didn't necessarily come here to talk to the employees but I noticed how they just keep each other company talking amongst themselves. Anyways, i tried to grabbed the product as soon as possible and head out since my toddler and husband were with me but they were taking a long time at the registers and my toddler was getting so irritated he ended up crying and puking next to the counter. Of course I was going to clean it up and the cashier said she was calling someone to help me (I was hoping at least get me some paper towels to clean up the mess) but nobody came , the cashier went straight back to her job and workers just walked passed us like nothing. I told my husband to try and clean with the baby wipes and i left out with my toddler. He later said he asked for a mop or any cleaning supplies and they said they don't carry any (like ok how do you maintain that place clean?) at one point one of the workers said "do I really have to" (as in to go grab a mop). So rude, will never come back. Will definitely go to Ulta instead. read more

I am mostly an online shopper, so when I decided to come to Sephora for the first time to redeem my Lash Stash coupon and switch my BareMinerals liquid foundation for the correct shade and I did not plan on spending any money. I was nervous going to the store for the first time because I have heard that Sephora and Ulta employees can be quie snobby, and especially since I wasn't actually spending any money I was exra nervous. To my surprise, all the employees were incredibly nice! Every one I walked by greeted me with a smile and make sure I was being taken care of. Switching the foundation took some time because it had to be ordered from another store, but they got it all taken care of. It took some time, but all the employees were working hard and I did not mind waiting. I will be happy to return as soon as I can. I LOVE this store. Also, the products are awesome and well worth the money. read more

First let me start with the pros: Clean Well-stocked Easily accessible location Lots of parking Cons: I was at this location for over an hour. It was time for me to renew a lot of my make up bag so I needed a lot of product. I wasn't approached once for help. I tracked down two separate associates with 2 separate questions and each one in their own way basically told me to "read the self-explanatory label." Well thanks, I'm very capable of reading a non-descriptive label. Needless to say, I left with zero help and unanswered questions. I was greeted as soon as I was in the door, I was given multiple samples, and the rep I worked with helped me find something that I love and can't imagine living without now. This was the most insulting shopping experience ever. I have shopped at many Sephoras and have spent my fair share of money on purchases. I was at this Sephora location for the first time with my family. Most importantly my 6 year old daughter and 10 year old son. As a family we were all shopping in the surrounding stores and checking in with each other in front of Sephora. My son came into the store and asked me a question that I needed to speak to my mother about. I handed an associate my products and asked her to hold them while I stepped outside. Once outside I heard a woman yelling from behind. The manager with a security guard was standing at the entrance yelling at me. Telling me that if I entered the store again she would press trespassing charges on me. She continued to yell, telling me never ever to come into her store again. Kicking me out of any sephora location forever? How absurd. I was shocked and felt very protective of my children for witnessing this. I was angry and insulted. I'm certain that others witnessed this episode as well. Once we returned home, I filed a complaint with corporate, online, and now creating my first review on Yelp. Finally, when my husband went back into the store to pursue clarification of the incident, she would not give him her name, card, or a reason for her extremely unprofessional behavior. The security guard did confirm that she was the manager. This story will be told in our family for years and I will think of it every time I set foot in any Sephora location in the future. read more

I am just getting into high end makeup and really, you just can't go wrong here. The selection is unrivaled. Urban Decay, Tarte, Kat Von D, Too Faced along with all the fab Sephora line of products is fantastic. The employees are also extremely knowledgeable and always willing to offer any kind of assistance you need without overselling or being pushy. I love brushes with foundation but the employees always ask if I prefer to apply with fingers or a brush so I don't feel obligated to purchase a brush. The perfume selection is also pretty good with lots of new choices. Parking can kind of suck but that certainly doesn't take away from the good service provided by this location. read more

The girls' who wrote the negative reviews must be shopping at a different Sephora, because this one is awesome. The employees are super sweet and helpful. After reading these reviews it seems to me that a lot of the girls that come here have had the same disappointing experience as I did...I walked in super excited to see all the new products and realized no one greeted me, okay no big deal i thought to myself and it was a little busy, i walked around some more and noticed workers were walking passed me, just looking at me but said nothing, okay weird but I kept on looking around the store. I was having a hard time finding one of my favorite perfumes, and looked around for someone to help but i just saw a circle of them standing around at the front talking, at this point i was mad and questioned why no one was asking if i needed help,come on thats your job, I had a "full face of make up on" (saw reviews that said they wouldn't help you unless you had makeup on) and was super frustrated! I was over the perfume, now i was just walking around to see if anyone would help me or approach me, i walked around the whole store for 15 min, NOTHING! I even went up by the front of the store where there was a blonde guy, a manager in a black shirt and two other associates, nope nothing and they all looked at me and made eye contact. After that i was like I give up, I'm out of here, let me buy my palette and never return. I did want to tell the manager so something would change, so i asked the girl at the register to talk to the manger and i got to speak with Carlos, he was super sweet and did say that this was not acceptable and we talked for about 5 min. So the second star is for Carlos but i was SUPER disappointed. Hopefully this store gets their act together. read more

I received such poor treatment today during my experience at Sephora's Fort Collins location that it was my last. This is actually the second time I have been made to feel so unwelcome; I don't know why I came back a second time. As you may know, Beauty Insider members receive perks, such as birthday gifts. I went in to redeem my gift and was accused by the cashier of scamming the store. When I went to the store and brought an item to the cash register, I let the cashier know I was a Insider member, and that I wanted to redeem my birthday gift. Saying that there was no record of a birthday gift for me (then why did I get a postcard in the mail saying I did?) the cashier looked uncertain and I so I showed her my postcard. When this still didn't satisfy her, I asked whether it would be a problem if she gave me my gift, even if it wasn't in the system and told her not to worry about it if it was such a big deal. Then the cashier said that another woman, who lived in my town outside of Fort Collins, had come in, with a dog (!), to return items on her daughter's behalf, and had gotten the birthday gift for the daughter, while she was there. Apparently that meant to the cashier that I must be the daughter, as I happened to live in the same town. I am 27 years old; my mother hasn't shopped for me since I was a child. And even though I said as much to cashier, she continued to ask me questions and I even tried telling her my mother didn't own a dog. Even as the cashier finally rang up my purchase, she continued to look at me disbelievingly. What I should have done was asked for a manager; if I hadn't been so shocked by the unwarranted and bizarre interrogation over a little birthday gift, I would have done so. Instead, I'm writing this review to let others know of this and will be calling the store as well. I recommend shopping at Ulta, instead. They may not carry every brand that Sephora does, but their customer service puts Sephora to shame. read more

I don't wear make-up regularly, but I want to have SOME product just to even out my skin. That being said, I walked in and went to an associate and asked her to help me out saying that I don't want to look like I am wearing a ton of makeup. She had about zero suggestions for products and ended up putting something on me that was way too heavy and was settled into my finer lines by the time I left the store. She did not ask me if I liked it and was acting the least bit interested in helping me. Terrible service - which makes me sad because I had really high hoped of walking out with some good products. read more

Very disappointed in my experience in your Sephora location in the Front Range Village. My girlfriend and I have been loyal to Sephora now for 10 years, though we normally make the majority of our purchases online we were in Fort Collins from Wyoming for the day and decided we would treat ourselves and stop into this location. From the moment we entered the store we were quickly greeted by a gentleman who initially seemed genuine asking if we would need assistance. Within minutes we heard one of your reps speaking on a walkie about "they set off the alarm right as they walked in." Both of us were wearing a sweatshirt and leggings (maybe not as posh as the staff expecting to be in their store) from there we couldn't breath on a makeup tester without a rep peering their head over our shoulder. We were followed every isle, asked if we needed help or assistance oh I'd say easily 25 times within a 30 minute trip. I would have GLADLY dumped the contents of both our purses out to prove against whatever witch hunt they were out for, to have even a enjoyable 5 minutes of our shopping trip here. The fact is it didn't take more then a minute to realize we were not welcome here. We still made our purchases because at the end of the day we will not be bullied from what we enjoy. Needless to say we will continue to enjoy it from ordering online. Thank you for showing a couple of Wyoming girls stereotyping is VERY REAL. On a side note there was one girl working here who had a flower attatched to the side of her eye (everyone had a flower theme happening) and she was incredible offering to grab us samples of primers we likes and skin care, and treating us like guests in her store not heathen. Even though you had 3 or 4 reps acting as our shadow she was a doll. Wish I knew her name but perhaps the rest of your staff could take a tip or two from her. I recently went into sephora to buy a beauty blender. The women are nice and very knowledgeable when it comes to makeup. I had went into ulta in greeley and asked for a beauty blender and was pointed in the direction of curling irons???? Everything I asked the woman in sephora she helped with and knew what I was talking about. They don't follow you around the store like you're about to steal everything which is a plus, I was followed around in ulta which is not only insulting but uncomfortable as a shopper... I'd glady drive from greeley to fort collins to continue getting the service I received! read more

This Sephora is pretty bad when it comes to customer service. I have reserved a review until now, about 7 or 8 pretty terrible experiences later. It seems as though the more employees are there the more worthless they become because they resort to talking amongst themselves and completely ignoring customers. I pretty much always have to ask them for assistance. I have literally been in there with an infant strapped to my chest and a toddler in hand and been ignored while they talk among themselves....They do NOT anticipate needs. They remerch more than any other retail store I have been too which is particularly why help is useful. To top it off, pricing is often incorrect. The last 3 times I have been there products have been mis-priced. No big deal to them, quite the opposite to the consumer. I gave them 2 stars because when I ask for help/ can peel them away from side talk, they are very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable, but they do seem in quite a big hurry to get away back to their side talk. No, " what else can I help u with" invitations pretty much ever.... I find it challenging to go here bc I anticipate crappy service as this and I find myself resentful before I walk through the door. read more

The staff was very attentive and very helpful on my first visit (I will be making more). The product line is incredible. It turns out I am very allergic to mascara I purchased but I had thrown away the box and receipt. When I called to ask if I could return it I didn't even have time to finish asking about it when the clerk said, "Yes, you can return it!" I'm sure they'll be able to help me find a different mascara. This is a very fine store. read more

Their customer service skills are impeccable and their attention to detail and consistency to go above and beyond for their customers at every visit is so appreciated. They took wonderful care of me and every time I see them in the store they make me feel comfortable and familiar. I have been shopping at this location for six months and have spent over $600. Although I've never been impressed by their staff, my most recent experience was absolutely awful. I spent almost an hour looking at and comparing products. There was an older woman working there, she was probably around 50 years old, and she seemed to be the manager. From the moment I walked in she was eyeing me and acting as if I was going to steal something; I am a 20 year old girl who carries a big purse so I understand her skepticism toward me. Keeping an eye on me and stalking me are two very different things though. Every couple of minutes she would get very close to me, looking at what was in my hands and asking if she could get me a sample of anything. In the hour I was there, this occurred close to 10 times. Awhile after I was looking, I asked another employee for some help, I was looking for a different face moisturizer since the one I have isn't giving me the results I'd like. She was somewhat helpful and began pointing me in the right direction. I picked out my usual foundation and two of the recommended moisturizers. I was holding these three products and still browsing around a bit when the older woman came up to me yet again, this time with a little basket. She shoved it in my face and told me I had to put the items I was going to buy in the basket and that I could not hold onto them myself. Up until this point I brushed off her rudeness, but this was over the top. I was about to spend over $100 on products and she was still treating me like I was a thief. I ended up putting the products in the basket, setting the basket on the counter she was standing at, and walked out. The owner/regional manager of this location should be embarrassed by the way there employees treat people. read more
