I had an amazing experience here. Daezia hooked me up! She did a wonderful job on my nails, and did not rush me at all. I've had a hard time finding a place in FoCo that can do nail art without charging $5 per nail and doesn't act annoyed. I will definitely continue to come here, the salon is adorable and such a relaxing environment. I love that they use natural products and clean nail polish. The tools are properly sterilized, I got a new nail file (not one that's been used on who knows how many people....) and there wasn't a jar of barbicide in site! Urban Hippie is my go to for a spa experience. The techs are excellent, the venue is amazing and relaxing. The use of the Vagaro app make it easy to make appointments, change appointments, check in and even pay. My appointment today was with Darianne, who i have been going to for about 2 years... Every time I go into this salon I am greeted so kindly and I feel like I am being pampered! It's the little things like asking if I am comfortable or do I need water. My nail tech Venus always makes sure I am happy with my nails before I leave. I am fairly still brand new but so far I see myself being there for the long term! I've gone here twice first time killed my sculptured nails second time tho I made and appointment a bit later in the day and was asked to go in much earlier which I was like fine it works with my schedule. It's okay and pretty hit or miss. The decor and vibes are a 10/10, but as far as manicures I've had great ones here and I've had terrible ones. My advice is to research your nail tech here and don't just choose at random, cause there's a chance you may be disappointed. I stopped going here ultimately, I did give it a good college try twice. Bad. Very Bad. ALL BAD. I went to Urban Hippie for a full gel set and pedicure. I was not told when I made the appointment that a trainee/student would take my appointment and thus prolong the timeframe. I was there for 5.5 hours. The job was done terribly. As the photos show the nails were finished with dents in each one, they are crazy thick, and too wide for my fingers by far. I've had long acrylic/gel nails for 15 years and been to many salons and this is by far the very worst experience and outcome I've ever endured. For the pedicure, the job was rushed, my toenails were filed unevenly, and she never scrubbed the heels and feet bottoms or cut the cuticles. Furthermore, I called 1.5 days later to ask for an appointment to have the monstrosities removed. The receptionist put me on hold, then said the Owner/Manager would call me back. She took down my number and repeated it back to me accurately. I never received that return call and had to go elsewhere to have them removed at my own cost. Finally, I was overcharge and brought the mistake to the receptionist's attention. She said she had 'spaced out' and would credit my card for the erroneous $45. Two days later I called because the credit did not process to my account and she said she would rectify that. It never appeared and I've alerted my card company. The staff is nice. But three of my acrylic nails popped off within the first week and I'm not heavy on my nails for them to have broken off. I also got my lashes done...which came out horrible. I asked for natural looking lashes and they looked like unnatural feathers in my eyelids, glue was caked in my actual eye lashes. I won't be returning for either service. I also had planned to get a pedicure but the chairs they use are waiting room chairs...there is no relaxation. read more

I have been going to Urban Hippie for a few years to get my legs waxed. Darianne is incredible, always welcoming and always gives me real advice on how to keep my skin happy between waxes. I decided to get my nails done by her as a trial for my wedding, she did a wonderful job. I always enjoy our conversations; she never makes me feel uncomfortable. The day before yesterday, I got my gel x nails removed by another nail tech, Kira, and got a normal gel manicure. Again, amazing conversation, comfortable vibe, and I thought my nails looked wonderful. Then yesterday I went in for my leg wax with Darianne, she noticed that my nail polish would soon peel up. Venus, the owner, and Darianne immediately made sure I could get my manicure redone and they were so kind to Kira; Kira did my nails again and now they are perfect! I had a 12:30 pedicure appointment for my mom and I with a note to have ours done at the same time. My mom and I had ours done at different times before. We genuinely get upset about this, especially if we have an appointment like today. I got mine started first, 30min later my lady had to ask someone else to do my mom's because the one finishing up someone else's ignored us, they knew we were here, my lady made it clear we were here and ready and on time. My lady did a wonderful job being on time and did amazing work. My mom had another appointment to get to and didn't even get hers finished. I'm happy about mine and disappointed in the business for not only missing the time but not offering ANY compensation for their lack of availability for our appointment. I'd be absolutely a regular here if they were to fix this. But I barely got a genuine sorry. I'd recommend this place for a single user but no couples. Thanks any way... read more

I went in for a simple manicure and gel polish application. There was no manicure in the "manicure " portion. They drilled off my previous polish, then had me clean off my own nails with sugar (from a communal pot) then soap. I guess that was the sugar massage you usually get with a manicure. Then rest of clipping, filing,etc nail prep for polish. There was only one, maybe two thin layers of polish and I went on my merry way. Within 4-5 days I had significant chips in 5! nails. The polish also didn't go all the way back to the cuticle - looked like at least week's worth of nail growth from the day after application. Will never go back or recommend. The only good comment is that my polish applier, Darianne, was very nice, just not skilled. She also did a brow wax and tint which were both excellent. read more

The decor here is very cute, also has a fun atmosphere. That said, my pedicure (jelly) was just okay. I liked the jelly stuff, felt pretty nice and made my feet super soft. The first issue I had was that my tech had incredibly long nails, so long that she couldn't do a good job doing a pedicure-great for you if you like those, but when it interferes with your job you may want to rethink them. She sloppily painted may nails while making a basic effort to massage my legs and do all of the scrubs, lotions, etc. with her long nails in the way. She also had a lot of complain about. Granted, everyone does, but please stop and remember this is a special treat for some people! Let me rest and relax and much as possible, which was hard since the cushions kept sliding off the leg stand thing and she tried her best to ignore that. The products used were great, nice quality. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and will go back to my strip mall nail salon, where similar mediocre service is less expensive and I get more relaxing time. read more
