I rarely shop at Ulta anymore, but every once in a while I find myself in. This location is pretty good. They recently redid the store so a few things were still not fully on shelves yet. Overall, the store is clean, bright, and organized well. Their prices are fair and they have a great selection of products. The young girl working the cash register was very kind and pleasant to interact with. I did notice they had a sample pack of the perfume I love, so I am very excited about that! read more

OMGosh, have you been to Ulta Beauty, Lacey recently? Talk about a makeover!! Ulta redesigned their look, on product! The store is SO CLEAN, Bright, stocked to the rim with so much NEW, INCREDIBLE PRODUCT. If you haven't already downloaded and utilize the app?! Omgosh, SO MUCH SAVINGS, Rewards, Coupons, Pay your Credit Card, Book Service Appointments, try on make up, and lipstick!! it's PHENOMENAL!! Make sure to ACTIVATE all the extra rewards tabs too, before you come in. With those, they just link with your phone number. (No, clipping needed). So, anytime something is scanned that's under the rewards, you automatically get the extra rewards. I've seen them get as high as 15x the rewards points. Lastly, if you're not aware. Ulta, runs by a point system. The more you let your points build up. The MORE Cash Value, they're worth. Stop using them at $3!! Let them build to at least a 2000-4000 point balance. This review is not about my stylist who is great. It's just the lack of awareness by another stylist at the next station. Talking loudly with her client throughout the time. All other stations were available and maybe this was hers, but boy oh boy. That non stopping yapping and loudly in my ear was unpleasant. My stylist was new so a typical appointment which takes an hour and 15 minutes stretched to 2 hours. Just be aware that if your appointment is at 10 am, you'll need to hangout waiting for the store to open. read more

Ulta has a new policy of no returns without the original packaging. Your receipt of purchase? That means nothing. I was told by the person working that it is a corporate policy because of rampant theft of testers. This makes no sense to me. Especially because I had a receipt. And this is how Ulta lost my business forever. I guess lifetime value of a customer is not a consideration by their corporate office. No worries, Sephora is less than 0.1 miles away.... read more

I made this appointment because I just had surgery and don't feel comfortable washing and drying my own hair yet; since the website specifically says that a wash is included I selected the curling option so that my hair would be washed and styled after when I arrived to the appointment she let me know that a wash was not in fact included I would have gladly paid extra for it but she didn't even have time to do it. read more

This establishment is a joke. As a company and this store. I don't frequent Ulta as I usually order online. However, I happened to be in the area for work and decided to stop by. When I walked in, there were a few associates standing around. No one greeted me verbally. They all hovered together and watched as I started browsing in the fragrance section. It wasn't until I actually picked up a tester to spray it and here comes Annie. Yes, that's her name. She asks me if I had any questions. I replied and asked her why didn't anyone speak to me or offer assistance when I first came in. She laughed nervously and said "we must've missed you coming in". Without any reluctance, I started walking towards the exit. There was no way I was spending my money there after being made to feel so uncomfortable. As I walk towards the door, Annie asks can she check my handbag as its policy when you don't purchase anything. I looked at her like she was crazy, laughed at the obnoxious request, and left. Ulta already has a notorious reputation for racial profiling, but I'd never personally had that experience until today. You would think after the lawsuits that some sort of diversity and inclusion training would be provided at this point. They apparently haven't made a conscious effort to grasp and understand the issue of racial equality. I'm sure there are "Annie's" at their other locations as well but based on my experience at this location it's easy to conclude that this is racist store that employs non-POC's who are comfortable with making select consumers uncomfortable. I scheduled a beauty salon haircut couple of weeks in advance. I received a call a few minutes before my appointment saying that they need it to reschedule my appointment because the person doing my haircut was running behind. I was already on my way there I left my job early for this appointment to be there. The least they could do is call you a day before or early morning to let you know. This has happened to me several times before. I schedule an appointment and last minute they call to cancel. So unprofessional will never come back to this location. Your service sucks! Spent about one hour in this store today trying to get competent help. Everyone is so busy they don't have time to answer questions if you can even get their attention. I finally found the product I wanted after being hastily misdirected twice. The prices was on the premium side. Actually it was about 25% higher than at the salon I usually buy from. I have had consistently terrible experiences at the Fort Collins Utla. The store is organized well enough and the prices are fine... the issue is with the employees. Upon one visit, my boyfriend and I were followed very rudely as though we were going to steal something. We were the only ones in the store! A middle-aged female employee kept animatedly calling her little trainee over and made overdramatic pointing gestures at us, telling her to "keep an eye" on us. I've never shoplifted in my life and I felt very, VERY insulted by the 20-minute display. At one point, when I looked over at the "mature" employee, she threw up a box to cover her face and muffle her words of warning toward the other employee. It was really bizarre, really unnerving, and really insulting. Another visit proved just as odd: I walked into the store alone and smiled at several employees standing by the entrance in a group; they responded with vaguely disgusted up-down glares. I expected nothing less of this store by that point, so it didn't really phase me. But as I tried to enter the store, the group continued to block the wide aisle that lead into the rest of the store. It was like middle school, except with women in their late twenties to early fifties and were bitter that they're working at some crappy beauty supply store. It was crazy. Trying to purchase products is a great way to understand the true incompetence of the employees. Three women were working the registers. A fairly long line was forming, although only me and another woman were being helped. Two women found it necessary to check out one customer, who was clearly having issues with some sale. As I was being checked out, the woman helping me would randomly decide to go help the two other employees who were clearly having communication problems. It literally took her ten minutes to get me out of the store... and I was purchasing a hair dryer! One item! At one point, after swiping my card, she decided to leave me again to chat with these other women. She took so long chatting that when she came back, my transaction had been cancelled and we had to start all over again. As if I really need to say this, but, I don't plan on going back. read more

I traveled over an hour to go to Ulta for the very first time. After hearing such great things about their sales, I took my trusty 20% off coupon in hand to buy some products I've had on my wishlist. Upon entering the store, I could have been invisible. I was not greeted or even acknowledged by the two women at the registers. While I was searching the floor for my items, I noticed the two women were more interested is chatting with one another than to offer me any type of assistance. Here's where it gets interesting, though. As soon as I crossed over to the high-end side of the store, the two women who could not be bothered to acknowledge me began "cleaning" the aisles directly behind and in front of me. Being in retail most of my life, I knew that I was under surveillance. I finally found the products I was looking for and proceeded to the cash registers. The younger of the two women came to help me. After scanning the products, I offered her my coupon. Without even scanning it, she flat-out told me that I couldn't use that coupon because I was purchasing a "prestige" product that was exempted from the coupon. When I asked what Ulta defined as their "prestige" products, I was told that it was the manager's discretion and that it can vary from store to store. In all my years of retail, I have NEVER heard of or seen this practice of a NATIONAL chain allowing local store managers to determine if it a product was eligible for additional discount. So, I calmly asked her to scan the coupon just to the make sure. After her epic eyeroll, she scanned it and then told me very curtly, "See, I told you. You can't use this coupon for this product." She then proceeded to toss the coupon back at me across the counter. I left empty-handed and vowed to NEVER frequent an Ulta location ever again. I went down the street a few blocks and spent all my money at Sephora. Those people know how to treat a customer, and they will be receiving my business from here on out. The products here are fine for the elegant woman or the elegant man who is looking for makeup for a night of drag on the town. The staff however are selective as to what customers they want to associate with and the one's they feel uncomfortable with or they feel sketchy towards; they watch you like a hawk because you may be a potential 'incident' for them. Some may wonder what a man is doing in a makeup store....I say it is none of their business. Good thing I did not find anything I wanted, they might have refused the sale since my appearance was not looking 'womanly' that day. I had my hair cut at the Ulta Salon today in Fort Collins by Connie and had a great experience. She listened to exactly what I wanted done and did just that. The hair cut was fast and very professional. She even straightened my very curly hair for a very small fee and I couldn't be happier. Thanks! They are Not knowledgeable on their products at all. They are just worried about gossiping and putting their friends make up on. I had Asked where several products were located and they said to go to Sephora because they sell those brands. Well guess what? I found the products on the shelf, one right behind me. While I was checking out I had asked if they still carry coach perfume - they told me to go to go to Walmart. The only reason I went to Ulta was because I had a coupon and needed some items. When I Tried to use the coupon - they just said I couldn't use it because all items were "special" products. WHAT? Never have had a problem with the coupon for the same products before. SMH! I'll go to other places in the future maybe Sephora as they recommended. If I have to buy something from Ulta or if they are having a special I will only buy online and will not go into their store again. I give 5 stars for their online site and experience. read more

I went in on 10/16/11 because Ulta was having a cut-a-thon to support breast cancer donations in their Salon. Because this was a first come first serve special I had to wait quite awhile. I was in the store about an hour just browsing the products. I can honestly say the customer service was much better this time. I had several of the employees come up to ask if I needed anything and one even complimented my top. None of them lurked around me which was nice. I did see a few congregating together talking, but there were enough employees in the store that no one was being ignored. I was also able to observe the Salon Manager. I wasn't quite as impressed with her... and I hate to say anything bad because I could tell she was having a hard time. However, she does seem to come off as rude at first. But after observing her with others and with a mad customer who didn't get on the waiting list for a cut soon enough... I realized she is just awkward. It seems like she's not sure of herself or how to converse comfortably with people. When I engaged her in conversation she was very nice. Overall the store was a little better this time and I had a longer experience with it. read more

HORRIBLY disappointed with ULTA. My daughters bought me a Perfume sampler for Mother's Day (try 6 samples, choose your favorite, get free rollerball). I've had a little over 2 months yes, but I've had 2 deaths in my family and other circumstances in which I needed to spend less money (and going to Ulta usually means spending $). I went in today to redeem for my Free Rollerball (super excited) and it expired 4 days ago! :( Guess what folks, they Will NOT budge on this even though it was a Gift!!! They also tried to say it was from Christmas (although my girls used our phone # when purchasing... May 11, 2019). So my daughters spent $30 on samples we could have gotten for FREE at Sephora.... KELLY - Make-Up Artist, Cosmetics Specialist, Face-Paint Goddess, Lacquer Technician... whatever you wish to be called: this review is for YOU & those at ULTA who hired you! ( hint, hint... hire more like her or get the 'government's-liberal-blessing' to clone this one!) More human beings like Kelly could transform ANY business into a better one!: Kelly was AWESOME, we walked in with VERY specific requests & concerns for price for our Sister Missionaries who are on fixed monthly stipends & one needed help in specific makeup application for her polynesian ethnicity & skin tone. (note: Kelly is super pale - like me....) And, Kelly was right on, her knowledge was spot on & she respected their very tight budgets & treated them with every ounce of respect that they so richly & deeply deserved! I've NEVER met an ULTA makeup artist that was THAT accommodating & respectful when they KNEW I would not be pushed into the higher priced brands. I have taken 6 other ladies into ULTAs with the same, exact specifications (college students & church missionaries) - in Provo, Utah ULTA & at Council Tree ULTA) & we have ALWAYS been brushed off or given the line "I'm not trained in the lower/cheaper brands..." which I knew was garbage, or they become "too busy" really fast. Kelly was real. She was AMAZING & SHE is the reason that I will be bringing more ladies back in. Most real women can't afford Naked/Smashbox/Urban Decay, though they would love to.... but, they ALL deserve to bring out their own, individual beauty on their own, individual budget & Kelly did her best to see that this happened! I recently went to Ulta looking to update my look. Michelle was very helpful and even suggested I schedule an appt with Jalyn in the salon for a makeover. Jalyn was fantastic! She was patient with all my questions and chose the right products for me. Jalyn is an expert when it comes to shading and blending. Michelle stopped by to see the progress and was very complimentary. I highly recommend this store. Michelle and Jalyn are personable, friendly, and very helpful. I also had a pleasant conversation with the woman in skincare; however, I regret I did not notice her name tag. Clearly the employees I interacted with at this store are very passionate about their job and take pride in servicing the customer. read more

I get my hair cut at the salon at the Ulta in Fort Collins by Danielle. I absolutely love the job she does. I've taken family members there who have had horrible experiences at other salons and now they only go to Ulta as well. Danielle is so friendly and helpful that after she cut, dyed and styled my mother's hair she have my mother a card with the dye colors and cut style she did as well as the salon's phone number so another Ulta stylist could call with any questions. I've never had any of the staff follow me around or "watch" me as some of the other reviewers have said nor have I had any of the staff be rude or curt with me. The coupons Ulta mails out does say the higher end make-up, perfume and certain hair tools are excluded in the fine print however they DO mail out a coupon once or twice a year that can be used on everything except salon services. The store is always clean and well organized but I do have to agree with the other reviewers and their notes on how inattentive the employees are. You may get one to say hello as you come in but that's where it stops. If you walk into the Sephora across the street you'll be greeted frequently and asked if you need help with anything at least twice. The girls at Sephora are also incredibly knowledgable in regards to all the products. Ask a question at Ulta and you either get a short answer or an "I don't know". I'll continue to go to Ulta to get my hair done as long as Danielle is there. read more

When I went to check out, she said it was $55! After that, I called around, got recommendations from neighbors and now am going to a small business salon. And she was great! I would like to preface this by saying I have been a loyal Ulta customer for several years and have shopped at multiple locations. The employees at this location are terrible and rude. Today I entered the store looking for assistance with my eyebrows. The first associate to help me clearly had no idea what he was doing or what products were offered. Then another associate was able to help me find the products that I need quickly which was nice but she was not very friendly. When I went to check out, there was one cashier and five people in line. The cashier continues to have a conversation with a customer who had been done with their transaction for about 5 minutes while the rest of us wait patiently in line. When I approach the counter after about a 10 minute wait, I pull up my email to get my birthday gift along with purchase. The associate tell me I have to open the barcode portion. I am clicking on the email link with the printable coupon and it is not loading due to an error. I reattempt to open the link several times and she tells me to log onto the WiFi. I log on and am still experiencing the same error. Obviously an issue with the link. She then proceeds to tell me she can't help me. This customer service is absolutely unbelievable and I will not be supporting this store in the future. read more

I have been shopping at Ulta for years. They typically have good products and usually have good prices. My issue is with the employees at this Ulta store. They are rude and inattentive; also, some of the women working there act as if you are bothering them by buying products. Only one employee was friendly and helped me with the Juice Beauty products, but unfortunately that does not make up for the 3 that were acting superior and inconvenienced. Obviously they don't understand that the ONLY reason they have jobs is because customers continue to buy their products. They need to work on their customer service badly. I don't think I will be going into the Fort Collins store anymore because these snobby employees do not deserve my business. Maybe corporate needs to get involved. read more

I'm not really sure what to say. I hate leaving bad reviews but, perhaps this saves someone else the extra money it cost me to get my hair fixed when I got back from vacation. I was pretty disappointed. My experience at this salon was the worst I've ever experienced. I usually get my hair done in the town I'm from but, my hair stylist was booked before my vacation to CO and I needed touch up highlight for New Years in the worst way. I stepped from my comfort zone thinking, "Hey, you know, how hard could root touch up highlights really be? No way anyone could f*** it up that bad no matter how new you are at hair." I have many friends in the salon business and I've had my hair done so many times I could probably do it on someone else with no problems. I would do it myself but I can't reach everywhere. I tell you what though, I've never seen anyone highlight the way this young lady did. It was like the lazy route. I get it, I have crap ton of hair but, it's one of my best assets. Therefore, it's important to me that it looks fabulous all the time. She says she's been doing hair for 6 years now, so, I trust she knows what she's doing and sit back and try to relax. Problem one, lets bleach set in hair for entirely way too long- an hour of just sitting there at the mirror after bleach application was finished. No small talk with me really, just me listening to her and the other stylist gossip on the other side of the mirror with each other. Then, she asks if my hair takes a long time to lift and I said, not sure but I'm usually under a heater for this part. She finally puts me under the heater for another 40 min. At this point I'm worried my highlighted pieces are just gonna break off of my scalp the bleach had been on there for so long. Problem two, left toner on highlights for about 2 seconds, washes hair out with cold water when it's in the negatives outside, and puts a minimal amount of conditioner on my hair creating a big tangled mess. The highlighted parts of my hair were so damaged they wouldn't brush out and kept getting stuck. Problem three, painfully yanks hair out trying to get through the tangles from not having adequate amounts of conditioner from wash out. The most painful salon experience I've ever had. Problem four, layers in hair cut are a hack job. Blunt chucks cut out with hardly any smooth layers through out. Problem five, got home, put my hair up in a bun to wash my face and BAMMM! There is a huge, massive chunk of a highlight above my forehead, that I can not stand and is as orange as it can be. The toner wasn't left in long enough. Problem six, I return the next day to have someone (different person) fix it. They put more bleach on it with no heat again. This is not what my already fried hair needed. Just tone out the orange! My hair is now the most unhealthy it's ever been. The highlights were too chunky from the technique used and are completely different colors through out. I've since paid more money to have one of my stylist friends fix it as best she could. Wait and/or pay more money and go some where else! I haaaaaaaaaaate shopping here and only go in when the large bottles of my shampoo are on sale!!! Hardly anyone is ever working and there is always a huge line because the two employees that are on shift get stuck ringing up customers at the desk!! No one on the floor to answer questions and help you find things. I will say, the makeup artist in the prestige cosmetics section is usually available, kind, and helpful. But I understand she can get busy doing makeovers and helping with the higher-end cosmetics experience. For the price and value of my time, I go to Sephora---they just don't have my shampoo!! :-( read more

I am a loyal customer of Ulta who spends a lot of money there. Today I purchased $98 worth of products. When I got home I noticed a $10.99 lip gloss was not in the bag. I went back and the girl that had checked me out was still there. I told her I was missing an item .She said that she had been cleaning up behind the counter and had not seen it. She also said she was very careful about making sure everything was put in sacks and that she remembered putting it in the bag. I just kept saying it wasn't in the bag. She went and spoke to the manager and the manager said they would have to check inventory. After they checked inventory,the manager checked behind the counter and found it. If she hadn't I would have just been out of luck. As I was leaving I heard the girl apologizing to the manager( perhaps she could have apologized to me) . The manager told her that's ok. All I can say is make sure you have everything before you leave the store. You will feel like a criminal if you come back because something is missing. read more

While I am not a fan of the cosmetics side of the store (horrible customer service), I totally love the salon! I have not gotten a haircut, style, etc yet that I've liked since I've moved to Northern Colorado. I decided to get some highlights so I stopped in last week. Stephanie did an AMAZING job on my hair. I feel fabulous and fresh. I didn't have a great idea of what I really wanted when I went in, so she made some suggestions for my hair type, and we went with it. Went in last night with my daughter to hit the Liter Sale! :) Was not only incredibly thrilled to get some special shampoo (Paul Mitchel Tea Tree Lavender Mint) for a GREAT price (especially in this dry weather winter that is DESTROYING my hair!!), but also thrilled to have such great customer service! Wish I had gotten the girl's name who helped me, but I can tell you she had blonde hair and BLUE LIPSTICk... and somehow she pulled it off... yeah! How? No clue, but I'm impressed. Seriously though, she was great. This is the first time I've ever left a review for anything, but I was really impressed that she had great customer service skills, as I feel like this world has been seriously lacking in that department for a while. The staff has been very helpful and courteous when I've needed assistance, and whenever I either know what I want or simply wish to browse, never have I been watched as a potential shoplifter. Apparently my first experience at Ulta was NOT just because they were new and just getting their feet wet. I recently went into the store again, and was treated even WORSE by the employees! Hard to believe!?!?! Not one greeting as I browsed, just several glances in my direction but they obviously could care less. Asking an employee a question was received with as much excitement and customer service as had I asked her to cut off her right arm. I will NOT be returning to this store- even if they are the last place on earth to carry a product I really like. read more

I have never had a good experience at Ulta, and I didn't have a good experience at this store either. The only reason I went was bc I needed some products and there isn't a Nordstrom in the area (which is where I always go). Customers should not have to wander around the store to look for an employee to help them. The employees are not friendly and don't seem like they are willing to help customers. I never seem to get matched to the right kind of foundation and the employees always seem to be in a rush to get you out of there. For the price you pay for make up, employees should be friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help customers. I always try to avoid going to Ulta for make up and I will continue to do so. read more

The salon staff are fantastic. My current hairdresser decided at the last minute to move to California and I was due for a color and cut this week. I was frantic to find someone. My sister goes to the Ulta salon in Levittown, New York and raves about the stylist. I decided to give this Ulta a try. Dawn was my stylist and she did a great job. I was impressed with Dawn that I booked my next 6 week appointment. She is so knowable regarding colors and cuts. While I was getting my hair done, I was asking Dawn if she had any recommendations on skin care. She called over one of the estheticians Amy. She is also knowable and so comfortable to talk to. I ended up getting a facial, wow fantastic. I hope management knows what gems they have working for them. I'll be back!! read more
