When Sephora first opened I was in Heaven. I adore the endless trays of pretty colors and fun stuff to try. The staff was always so friendly and helpful. Samples were easy to come by, which in turn ended up to me coming back the next week to purchase many of the things I had tried. I am deducting a star because, for the most part, the staff now isnt as helpful and as a general rule don't seem to want to make samples. (Except for two girls and Shawn, who is awesome) I also wish they would sign which products are vegan/cruelty free. I still shop at Sephora regularly, but it isnt quite the joy it used to be. read more

I've been a beauty rewards member at Sephora for years now, I've spent hundreds of dollars on their overpriced products. This is the first time I've had a poor experience at a Sephora. I have been in this store once before and I've been inside every single store in the city of Los Angeles. I'm an actress so I don't just buy for daily use, I buy for new projects every month/week/season. I'm also mixed race, and because of that my complexion changes drastically season to season. One of my favorite things about Sephora is the friendly customer service and the ability to sample products before buying. There's nothing more frustrating than buying products and discovering they don't work for you, when said product is $60+ I simply asked for three samples, of a Lancôme foundation that would be tested under different lights (store policy is up to three different samples, however if I've wanted three of the same, I've never had an issue, especially because I notoriously support the business) however when asked I was met with a rather bitchy interjection from a man named Kurt in the store, saying, "IS IT THREE OF THE SAME SAMPLE" well, yes. Is that a problem. "OH WE CANT DO THAT IT HAS TO BE THREE DIFFERENT ONES" instead of helping me, he made another associate assist me, who kindly and almost apologetically provided a single sample, and asked if there was anything else. I simply said no, and walked out because there's nothing else to do in that situation, and not serious in the least as is makeup samples were talking about. The reason I'm writing this, is solely due to the poor customer service delivered by Kurt. Maybe work on your people skills, because you're def not making people's days any easier with your aggressively bitchy attitude and approach. You're getting paid to help people, at least fake it. One star because that pissed me off, and it was so unnecessary. I'm still coming back to buy my correct winter shade of Lancôme this season, but I will not enjoy it if Kurt is the one to "help" me. read more

Purchased a $75 gift card with cash. Associate told me it was good to go and gift wrapped it. Turns out there was NO money on it when the person I gifted it to used it for the first time. Hustled for $75; lesson learned, won't be back. read more

I don't like coming in here anymore because there's always an employee in there who is always rude to me and makes a very hostile environment for me as I was shopping. Somehow he still works there. He's tall, and always gives me a once over as soon as I get there (he's always standing in the entrance). And I was looking for a job I walked in there and asked if they were hiring and in the most hateful, hawty way he said "Have you ever even worked retail before?" I will go to Ulta. Never here. Because of that employee. He needs to be fired because he treats a lot of people like that. I like to feel welcome when shopping so I avoid this place like the plague because of this employee. This is the best place to shop for cosmetics and perfume in Springfield. But it's not much of a compliment, considering the only competition in town is only a smaller size Sephora at JC Penney's. I like that I'm able to go in and try out different products and brands without being constantly badgered by sales associates. That's probably because store is chronically understaffed so good luck finding somebody when you need help. And if you do get somebody to talk to you, they seem to be so harried that they forget manner or basic hygiene precautions such as wiping down a lipliner before giving it to you to try. I would recommend doing your research on their website first and then go in and find exactly what you need. And make sure you have lots of time because the checkout line is always long. read more

I came into the store inside of Pennys to buy a new foundation brush. The clerk encouraged me to go with a rounded foundation brush this time. My last foundation brush was not rounded, but it was still a well-made high-dollar brush that came from the Lancome counter at either Dillards or Famous. It lasted 5 years and seemed to do a good job. I'm assuming this brush will work as well, or even better as the clerk said, and that it will last 5 years like the last one. I needed eyeliner and mascara too. I bought those at a discount store. read more

I've been really happy with the few times that I've gone into Sephora. The last time I went I had tried the cologne tester kit online and went into the store to redeem my certificate, but they didn't have the right bottle in store. Everyone was super friendly and the manager went above and beyond to make sure that I got the cologne I wanted and I was extremely grateful for that. I place a lot of my orders online, but I still love the store. The staff in Battlefield Mall Sephora are very helpful - if you have questions just ask. I know they can seem a little intimidating, but they are sweet (or fake it well). Sephora has the best return policy. Don't be afraid to hand over that cash to get what you won't, don't worry - you can return it if needed. So go splurge girls! read more

What girl doesn't love Sephora? When you go in there, it can be intimidating with the countless rows of makeup and all the girls (sometimes men) working there that you can be a little scared. But the workers are super nice and will help you no matter what. Shopping online isn't a problem, either. I would recommend becoming a Beauty Insider because then you get emails a couple times a week with deals and coupons and information on new makeup items. I love Sephora. Like another reviewer, I order mostly online (especially because I only recently moved into Springfield and was an hour from the nearest Sephora store...old habits die hard). I am a big fan of Stila cosmetics and other lines this store carries, so when it's time for a splurge I often head here. The company's email "fan club" sends me great birthday offers which can save a lot of money and you get fun little free trial size gifts occasionally. I've always been annoyed by the women who work in traditional department store makeup and fragrance counters (like Lancome and Clinique), they come off as very snooty and condescending. The women of Sephora actually look like models and have fantastic makeup, but they generally have a much better attitude than the department store broads. It is definitely a new generation of high end cosmetics, and I strongly prefer Sephora for this reason alone. read more

I was highly disappointed in this visit. This is not the first time I have had to contact corporate about Cassidy's behavior as a so called Manager. She is very rude and disrespectful to her customers I have walked in the store willing to spend a lot of money on my product but the last two times I have walked out empty handed.
