I have rosacea and very sensitive skin. I have so many products that I've used over the years that instead of buying things and just hoping that it would work, I decided to see a professional to recommend some good quality products for me. Betty at the Temecula store helped me. So was very nice and patient. We tried several different foundations and primers. My face looked great! She recommended a specific brand for sensitive skin. I didn't feel rush or bothering. I appreciated the time she took to help me. The store was clean and the staff was very nice. I really do love Sephora, but every time I go in to this one it is so packed with people I feel like a sardine in a very small tin. I suppose that is a good problem to have for them. Their products are incredible and their staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I could spend hours and hours in here just browsing if I didn't mind being elbowed by my fellow locals for the final holiday naked palette while I shop. Overall, this place is great. I come to this sephora pretty regularly. I'm always greeted as soon as I walk in the door. Some of the staff have better customer service than others but the good out weighs the bad here. I came in a couple weeks ago. I really wanted the store to know how much I appreciated them. I feel like everyone took care of me that day. I'm type 1 diabetic and needed juice and everyone scrambled to find me something so I was okay. Then one of the girls did the hydro facial on me and everything she recommended I buy cleared my skin right up after struggling with adult acne for the past 4 months. Her name was Brooke. I highly recommend her. She was so kind and made me feel really comfortable even though I have a little social anxiety she made me feel really comfortable. If you spend at least $75 on products the hydro facial is free. I just really wanted to thank everyone who worked that day. I'll definitely be back! read more

Ok. I know a lot about makeup. I don't usually need help finding something, but when I do...I go to Sephora. I have pale skin and black hair, I love Dita Von Teese makeup looks. I came in with a tricky inspiration makeup picture of Dita. God forgive me for not remembering the name of the incredible woman who helped me! She matched my extremely difficult to find blush color and the PERFECT long lasting red lipstick match. And to top it off, I made it very clear I was on a budget. There were no expensive products offered, no big name brand makeup options- all of these perfect picks were SEPHORA BRAND. They are A+ quality. I will actually NEVER buy another liquid lip that isn't the Sephora brand- it's that good, trust me- I know more than you. ;) I look just the way I wanted to, my confidence is through the roof!!! I had an appt at 5 to get my makeup done and I got there early like it says in the instructions. Got my skin prepped around 5:15 and then headed to the makeup area. The artist doing my makeup didn't introduce herself or ask my name. She just asked what I wanted and my skin type and literally that was it. My look was pretty simple, gold glitter eye. I'm pretty educated on makeup and I felt like getting it done because I did need to rebuy some products so I figured might as well get it done for my birthday. She didn't touch my eyebrows, didn't use bronzer or anything to countour and no setting spray. I feel bad cause if I was someone who didn't know about makeup they would've left looking like a hot mess. So I asked her to do my brows and she's like oh sorry I forgot and said I was her last client so she's out of it and tired. I think she could tell I was a little irritated because then she started to act interested in a conversation. The girl next to me getting her makeup done was laughing and talking the whole time. I get that's not required but I mean at least introduce yourself. I've gotten my makeup done at two other locations and had great experiences. I guess it's just this one that needs some help. Also they were literally out of everything. She used a liquid lipstick on me that I was gonna buy so I could reapply and they were out of the shade so I ended up wiping it off an hour into the night. read more

I was looking to purchase Kosas foundation, and concealer I just wanted somebody to color match me so I can buy the right color. I understand it's Saturday and it was very busy in the store. There was a sales person that was helping a client and I was trying on the kosas foundation so I can get a match. She was kind of standing in the way and not conscience of her surroundings, at least standing whileI was there. Finally after 20 minutes I walked over to the front and ask if I can get somebody to help me with the color match in one of the associates told me that they were two people ahead of me and they would get to me as soon as they can. I explained to her, that I was waiting for my husband and all I needed was a color match. Nobody bothered to come over to see if I need help and the same ladies were walking around with baskets and was offering to help other people. I really like Sephora and I'm very clueless when it comes to make up but I'm willing to learn I just needed a little help. I was really disappointed in the store and I probably will not be going back since and it is only 20 minutes from my house. I walked in with my boyfriend's mom yesterday; she's in her early 50s and just got back into makeup after 10 years of not paying attention to it. Going on in the was COMPLETELY ovehwhelmed.. however the staff was super friendly. They made recommendations for neutralizing her redness and some skin care recommendations for her more mature skin were made as well. They even went the extra mile to go above and beyond so far as to make her some samples to try at home. Although we ended up leaving earlier than I would have liked, I was super greatful to the entire Sephora staff for helping us quite thorouggly and informing her of the available options for her more mature skin. read more

She not only gave me one sample but multiple samples to try out and was very informative even on how it may be about dead skin cells on my skin not allowing the makeup to set. Usually when you enter a Sephora they all attack you with a greeting but not if you're a person of color i guess because it was impossible to get help here a few days ago. Like weird, I'm trying to give you my money but you don't have time for me in your near empty store? I had to flag an employee down multiple times just to get below average service from clearly fake to my face workers. And when I finally got what i needed, I'm standing at the check out line like a dumb dumb and my toddler is getting restless so I just let her scream in hopes an employee that would want it to end would come help but instead they walked around in circles like a bunch of broken sims pretending not to hear in hopes they wouldn't have to be the one to help me out when all i wanted was to get in and get out as quickly as possible. My regret was even giving a name to the register for a bonus? Whatever they get when they asked who helped because i should have just said me. It was me who helped me. So yeah.. 1/10 :) read more

Nothing bad to say about the customer service, the women helping me were actually fairly accommodating, but honestly, I get a cologne sampler every year for Christmas and redeeming it is ALWAYS a nightmare. The last one I got, half the samplers were empty, and from what I could smell of what was left, I would have liked to try those out. Especially disappointing as they were the "warm/spicy" and "earthy/woody" scents that I usually like. Anyhow, I settle on just one that I actually like, go to redeem the coupon, and OF COURSE they're out of that one. They do however have the larger size bottle but, again OF COURSE I can't just pay the difference and get the scent I like. They try to sell me on others, but no dice, I don't like them. A bottle usually lasts me a whole year and I'm not wasting this coupon on a scent I don't really like. Nothing personal about the staff, but as a promotion, I assume the sampler pack costs about as much as a bottle? So maybe actually have the bottles to redeem, and if not, make the option available to purchase the larger size at a reduced price. Or comp it for the inconvenience, like any good customer service rep would. This promotion is literally the ONLY reason I have come in to one of your stores, and it's been like pulling teeth every time. It's an opportunity to gain a repeat customer, but EVERY experience really leaves a poor taste in my mouth as far as your business is concerned. Will not ever actually spend money here, would not recommend, and would actively discourage people from purchasing their sample pack in the future, as actually redeeming the coupon usually takes me several trips to multiple locations, and more than a few phone calls to redeem. read more

My friend and I were treated promptly as we entered and we were asked if we needed help a couple of times while we browsed. The store was organized and clean with plenty of makeup removing stations and mirrors. I asked an associate a question about the differences between two perfumes and she took the time not only to explain the difference in depth, but offer recommendations. I had a great experience shopping at Sephora recently. I was looking for a new liquid foundation and powder foundation. I walked in and asked to be color matched, and the woman (I unfortunately forgot her name, wish I could remember because she was a major help and so nice) did such an awesome job at matching my skin color perfectly, which is difficult because I'm tan with yellow and pink undertones. I recommend the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation + concealer, and the laura mercier powder (its amazing). Pretty much found my holy grail of make up, finally! Dropped a good chunk of change here but it was well worth it for top notch flawless full coverage. read more

Came here for a new foundation and skin products. I was helped by a beautiful women named Laura. I had told her about my skin breaking out and having redness/scars. She made me feel great about my skin and made me feel more confident. She gave me samples of the products we used and I fell in love with them. Going in next week to buy them all! She is awesome! She matched my skin color w/ my foundation and this is the first time ever where I feel comfortable wearing foundation while using retin-a. She knew exactly what products I needed. read more

This review is for the makeup services. There were 3 of us booked for 30 min sessions each. 1:15, 1:30, and 2. I showed up for my 1:15 appt and was told my makeup artist is just coming back from break and we would start soon. Kristy showed up at 1:30 from her break reeking of smoke and popping Altoids. I showed her a Smokey eye and she requested a second pic. I showed another pic for inspiration and I described my outfit. I then tried to find another pic with the exact Colors I wanted (max 30 seconds) . Kristy then rolls her eyes and says .... Hurry up I only have 30 minutes to do this services. I at this point explained she was 15 min late for the appt and I have taken no more than 2 min to describe my outfit and desired look. I got up and let my sister in law go with her as the 1:30 appt because I was not going to let her work on me with that attitude. She was being disrespectful and unreasonable. So April did my makeup (a great job by the way!!) From 1:30 -2 and proceeded to do my sisters from 2-2:30. Well here's the kicker......Kristy was still not done my sister in laws makeup! She spent an hour doing her eyes (a 30 min service). Did her concealer and primer on the face "as an extra" for free. And Kristys 2 pm (a 90 min full face ) waited for 30 min to start her service. As a side note ... my sister in law in Caucasian and im not. (Read into that as you will). So overall.... The other girl working there was very apologetic and agreed with me and saw the whole encounter. Overall.... Book makeup with April. Kristy should work on her customer service and not kid herself with her altoids... we can smell the pack you just smoked. read more

This JCPenney Sephora doesn't compare to the one in Moreno Valley. I'd rather drive out of my way just to come to this location because of how sweet and courteous they are. Had the best experience here yesterday with my friend. I usually always buy my makeup at ulta but my friend wanted to go to sephora. We originally just went in to look for a lipstick but ended up talking about exfoliators and next thing you know we're in the back trying out everything. One associate quickly came to help us his name was Sony and he was so informative and helpful. He showed us so many good products and p employees only know about specific brands but he knew so much and was so helpful. Take your money to Ulta instead. Very rude, condescending, and passive aggressive employees. Can't match your foundation shade to save their life. Two specific employees who I won't mention by name had the absolute worst customer service I've ever received in my life. Disgusting. They treat customers like they are better than them, when in reality 90% of their makeup is mediocre at best. Mr Manager needs to tell them to get off their high horses. WORSE EXPERIENCE AT SEPHORA EVER!! happened with me at the Sephora on the outside part of the temecula promenade mall last month. I just moved here from Orange County and my best friends came to visit and we decided to go shopping, saw a sign outside of Sephora that said free facials (no appointment needed just walk in) so we went to the back and asked for them. After waiting at least 45 minutes and the same lady telling us to hold on a minute, she came to ask us what we needed finally and we said we would like the free facials smiles and all and she said oh okay! I have a few ahead of you come back in about an hour. So far we have waited 2 hours for the free facial altogether at this point and came back to the Sephora and went to the same lady (the one doing facials) and we then again waited about 20 Minutes with her knowing we were there (over 2 hours at this point) and she came up to us finally since we wouldn't leave and said what do you guys need? I replied saying you told us to come back in an hour for the facials and she said "oh.. well were you planning on buying anything or just want the facials?" And I said uhh well I don't know if I want to buy anything yet until I see what you use on me and how it works with my skin. She then said "oh... ok.. well let me go talk to my manger" and she comes back several minutes later and said "sorry we are all booked up ifyou would like to come back during the week like maybe next Friday you can because it will be less busy" I said to her "but you told us to come back in an hour and it's been well over 2 hours waiting for you"... I called back the manager later after being a Sephora member for YEARS and my main store being at the south coast plaza where I used to live, complaining I have never been treated so badly, at south coast they were exceptionally polite to me always and just because the lady didn't think I was going to buy anything wouldn't give me one of the "free facials" FREE as said on the sign outside the front door to draw people in! when I called back the manager said she never talked to her about giving us the facials and that there was no appointment needed and she didn't know why she would do that to us (so basically the facial lady lied about the appointment being needed, PLUS she lied about talking to the manager about "fitting us in") manager told me and my friends to come back for a facial My whole Saturday was wasted completely no joke I ended up arriving at Sephora at 12pm and leaving finally around 5... the whole day wasted I ended up buying a few things they used on me during the facial .. Now that I think of it I wish I didnt just because of how horrible the service was Don't know when I will be going back to Sephora at this point. AWFUL!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE at The Temecula Store and RETURN POLICY EVER!!! I purchased an item at The Fashion Valley Sephora, Great Customer Service by the way. The person who was assisting me at the register was Great. We spoke about two different eye creams I had brought two up to the register. It was Saturday so they were pretty busy. I had decided on one. Once I had left the store, gotten in my car and had drove off, I looked in the bag, I realized he rang up the wrong one. I called immediately and actually spoke to the associate who help me. They were very apologetic. No problem, come back. We will exchange it! Unfortunately I live in Murrieta. Soooo on Sunday I go into my lovely, completely unprofessional, rude store in Temecula. Keep in mind, it has not even been 24 hours since I've purchased the $75.00 Eye-cream. NOPE, we can't help you, you can drive back down to San Diego. Gave me a Number to call a Third Party. Are you kidding me. Pick up the phone and call Fashion Valley, they will explain it was their error. I left, the product I paid for at the counter and walked out! Worst experience ever! This review is a couple of weeks old. I came in to the store to have my makeup done. I made the appointment online. I arrived at the store a little early. The makeup artist who was scheduled to help me was not there yet. After waiting just a few minutes, they got someone else to help me which was great. I wasn't sitting around waiting on them. Monette was my makeup artist. She was fantastic. She listened to what I wanted and gave me a great look! She did eyebrows, lashes ... she did it all. I was very happy with the finished result. She used a Nars foundation on me that I absolutely loved. The color was a perfect match and has nice coverage without looking too made up. It's my new go to! read more
