The longtime proprietor, Mehmet Yalcin, widely known for his expertise, sadly died last year, however, his daughter, Rabia Yalcin, is now running the store. She's been at her father's side from the beginning, and so the torch has been passed. I met with Rabia recently and she's hit the ground running. She's knowledgeable, trustworthy, and easy to do business with. I can recommend this treasure trove of carpets and village arts that originate from countries found on the famous Silk Road. It's a one-of-a-kind place and very worth your time.

We went into the store to specifically look for a mattress that was recommended to us (Nova hybrid). While the H street store did not have the Nova on display, we settled on the Original hybrid. Tajuana and Jeremy were patient and knowledgeable (providing just the right amount of attention and information, while letting us try out the various mattresses). We walked away thinking the Original hybrid was the choice, but a little disappointed we didn't try the Nova. To our surprise, by the time we arrived back home, Tajuana had texted us - stating she and Jeremy would be happy to get a Nova out from storage and put it our for us to try. We stopped back the following day - getting a chance to evaluate the Nova (spoiler, we settled on the original hybrid, but now our minds' were at peace knowing we tried the Nova). The staff was friendly and patient once again! During our mattress search, we went to about 8+ stores across the DMV, looking at mattresses from $1k-$30k. Casper and the H street store, was only the second store, that provided a knowledgable, friendly and customer-service oriented experience (on par with what we experienced at the $30k mattress store). I called on that day and Jeremy said no, one more item was coming on day 18 but offered then to schedule the White-Glove/TaskRabbit delivery service (where the wrong address was entered again).  On day 18 I called and the last item had been delivered, but back to their California warehouse. I gave up, emailing Oscar to cancel my order and request a refund, which I received on day 23. After the first mistake, I figured someone would stay on top of this, yet throughout the whole ordeal, I had to initiate contact.  After they made the sale, I was on my own. Casper staff are nice but seem inept. I really wanted a Casper mattress as it's supposed to be the best. Alas.
