April 13 2026 We had one of the worst experiences with septic blue. It was stressful and expensive. We had some standing water in the yard where the pipes go out to the field. They took the lid off the tank and said it was overfilled. He said he would charge us an additional fee for pumping out waste from the field pipes along with 1,000 gallon tank Which was an additional 335.00. He managed to get total 2500 gallons, so he said, from the tank and the field and the truck was full. He added 6 bottles of solid breaker to help break up the solids I was not told how much each bottle cost. up until 4 days ago when we asked that the itemized invoice be emailed to us after the sewer was standing in the yard again. got invoice emailed to us. 6 bottles 378.00 but it only took him a minute or two with his little propeller to break it up And was 224.00. He took it upon himself to do some other work that we weren't expecting. Hydro jetting tailout with root temoval 349.00. He charged us for a 3 year advantage plan 149.00 in which we didn't even know about until we saw the invoice 4 days ago.he was finished with the job asked that we sign off on it. We never saw anything itemized on the iPad. Only the total which was $2,264.26. so all of this and we still have water standing in the yard so if you really like to get bent over call septic blue and I promise you they will treat you right we offered to pay for the pumping and filter and asked to reimburse back for the remainder.After three days of trying to get in touch with a manager or superintendent that we could talk about this problem he he did not help us after we indicated that we would pay 1000 of bill if he would only reimburse us for the remainder the charge as we did not approve and all he could say was you signed off on it. my Elderly parents called them to come out and pump their septic. What was supposed to be only $250 turned into just under $5k of money they don't have, as they live below Poverty level. They were charged $40 for an additional hose to hook up to their personal hose. The tank was 1,000 gallons which the pumped but charged them an overflow fee of $135. They told them that there were issues with the way the tank was installed 5yrs ago, and that they will need a new leech field. They claimed t have put a camera in the pipes, but my stepdad saw no camera, nor did he here any motor from the truck conducting the hydro jetting they charged just under $900 for. The tank is only 5yrs old, and they claimed there were issues. I only wish I was there at the time because they took total advantage of my parents. Being in their 70's it's easy for companies to do this. They required the $5k upfront and never gave them a copy or receipt or invoice until hours later when they emailed it, and that is when we discovered charges that didn't make sense. The money they used was pretty much all they had in their savings for emergencies. I called the town and spoke to the inspector and was told that it sounded like to her that my parents were taken. that if there was no back up into the home, or the leech field, and no other issues, then they don't know why they would have charged what they did and then to tell them it's $42k for a new leech field. The town was shocked to hear all that was done, and the cost they charged them. There is supposed to be a $50 coupon, and they wouldn't give that at the time of work, and they still haven't even received that. PLEASE watch out for this company, nad if you have elderly parents, please try to be there to oversee. I wish I was able to have been there because this is sickening the amount of money they charged, and the things they charged for. Yes, they signed the tablet for the work but was not explained until after what was going to be done. And not being able to see costs in hand is unprofessional. Customers should have it handed to them and not feel pushed into spending money they don't have, to find out they didn't need to. The most decent thing this company can do is refund my parents at least half of what they charged. They didn't even cover everything back up, they claimed the town needed to come out. But after I called the town and explained everything, they said they should have never left it open unless there were major issues and visual issues of sewage backup. I would not recommend this company at all, and if they want this review and any other posts about this to be removed they need to make good and do an immediate refund. But I doubt they will, because they got their money from elderly people that didn't know much about what was going on, so they saw an opportunity and took it. read more

There wasn't an option for zero stars Had an appointment with Septic Blue on Friday. They canceled and rescheduled me for Monday, 8-11 AM. No call, no show. I called after 11, and they said we were the first appointment but the tech was "running behind." At 2 PM, they called saying the tech was dumping what he had and would be on the way, should arrive within 30-45 minutes. At 3:45 PM, still nothing, so I called again and was told I had been rescheduled for a 2-5 PM window (news to me). At 4:15 PM, they called back and said they wouldn't be coming at all and could put me on the schedule for tomorrow. They wasted my entire day with no communication unless I called them, changing stories each time, and in the end, didn't show up at all. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time. Driver called " boss man". .......... WOW!!!!! He said that they would NOT, NOT!!!! pump septic unless we agreed to buy the new lid from them for $1,700 ; price went to $ 2,000.00 by end of conversation! 2 week delivery on lid. And, if old lid broke and fell in, they would leave it there. Sewage had gone into toilet/tub, so I guess he felt he could take advantage .....HA! Nope, not going to " hold my feet to the fire"..... We called Septic Blue (NC) out to do a routine pump on the tank because its been about three years and time for a cleanout. The tech that came out kept pushing for us to get a filter and whole tank replacement even though our tank is working fine. We anticipated paying about 400-700 to empty the tank. He made it seem like Hydro jetting the mainline and tailout was a requirement when pumping the tank then charged us an extra 800 to spray a little water in clear open lines that were already functioning properly. $1700 just to pump a tank is outrageous and on top of that he wrote a report that our tank was failing (when it wasn't) and he said the tank hadn't been pumped for over 20 years. it was literally pumped and inspected when we purchased the home in 2021! There were no solids blocking our lines or outside of the tank. Thank God we took photos while they were here. I am calling the office about their employees fearmongering to upsell services that aren't necessary and the false report. Find a honest company and avoid the headache. read more

On 12/21/23 I had Septic Blue come out to pump my alerting septic. After he pulled the broke pump out he told me it would be $11,914.95. This price did not include wiring to the house. Seemed expensive to me but I assumed this was a trustworthy company. He completed the job that day and left me with a new pump wires laid out on the lawn and the contact of the electrician that he recommended. After 3 days with still working septic the electrician made his way out to wire up my pump. He never trenched or buried my wires he simply made the connection so that I would be operational. The electrician never came back or returned my calls and I ended up trenching the wires my self. In the following months I had met with several friends complaining about my experience. Upon numerous conversations I learned of other companies in the area that conducted the exact same service averaging $3,000-$5,000 in the Charlotte, NC area. After complaining to Septic Blue about my $10,398.95 grinder pump. Regional Sales Manager Billy Dyer who informed me of the model number of the pump that was installed. The pump was a Liberty LEH202M-2. After thorough research I found that this pump did not cost more than $1,700 from several vendors. Billy gave me his sales pitch while giving me the analogy, "You can go to home depot and buy a Delta faucet and install it in your house for $50, But when you hire a certified plumber that charges you $300 you're getting a higher quality faucet with steel and aluminum components rather than plastic. This is the same with our grinder pumps we supply high quality pumps, better than what you can find online." Regretfully, I accepted Billy's explanation, counted my losses and continued on with living my life. On 4/7/24 I returned home from work to hear a loud grinding noise coming from my septic well. The same service technician came out on 4/9/23 and determined the float switch had gone bad. He said that he would order one and install it the next day. However, as mentioned before it would require a certified electrician to make the connection. The technician left and I contacted Greenway Waste Solutions and gave them the part number of the grinder pump and asked them to give me a quote. They quickly responded and gave me the quote of $3,500 out the door installed and operational! I had a hard time understanding how Septic Blue was conducting the exact same service and pump for $8,500 more without wiring! After contacting Billy Dyer again he told me he would ensure that his technician would wire up the new float switch (I guess they are electricians now). He also said that the wire would be fished through the conduit and wired properly. On 4/10/24 the technician showed around 3pm to install the float after 15 minutes of effort and was going to just drill a hole through the side of the man well riser ring and wire through a piece of PVC plumbing pipe and asked if he could barrow my garden tools to dig as well as my drill and bits to do the job. At this point I knew I had been severely taken advantage of and there was no turning back. I gave the technician the tools he asked for and let him finish the job fully knowing that I would be having to repair it myself and be taking action against this company. The following day I went outside to investigate the job. The technician buried his makeshift PVC conduit just 2 inches below grade! Worst part is, I cannot even fix this because the wire is now too short to make the 18" depth that is code. Looking back I should have never agreed to the prices set forth in front of me. In my defense, the technician had already removed the existing pump before he told me his price. I hope that homeowners will read this review before ever hiring Septic Blue for service. This company is raking hard working people over the coals for insanely over-priced service that is halfway complete. We used Septic Blue 3 years ago and we told them we had a 1,000 gal tank. When the technician got here he said he would charge us for a 1,000 gal tank but our tank was supposedly a 1,500 gal tank. Regardless of the fact that we used a different company years before Septic Blue and was told our tank was 1,000 gallons. What was supposed to be $395 they charged us $1200! We actually had already dug up the access points for our septic tanks to be pump and this guy "Willie" comes in on his mini-ex to pull the lids offs... crushed our lawn and was utterly unnecessary. After opening the tanks... shocking there was "cake".... Of course because it is a septic tank and it was full and needing to be pumped. We truly feel like we were scammed. The service we've received so far from Septic Blue has been horrific. In the middle of Christmas season, they have been out to our house four times and failed to fix the issue with our septic tank. We cannot flush, cannot bathe, cannot clean our home. This has been going on for two weeks and the only explanation they have offered after bidding on a job for a full repair is "it's not our fault. Blame the electrician." The also will not offer us a refund after being unable to fix the problem. When my husband called and said he would be reporting Septic Blue to the BBB for their unwillingness to refund us after failing to fix the problem and leaving us with an inoperable septic tank, they said, "Those are just threats" and effectively shrugged and said, "Not our problem." Very, very frustrating experience with this company. When it came time to pump out our septic system, we called the company we had been using the past 8 years only to find out they were no longer doing it, so we had to start calling around to find someone else. Wife found this company and they had the best quote so she scheduled service with them and they set an appointment for one week later. Two days before they were to arrive we received a call saying the tech. had an emergency and would not be able to make it. We understand, but is he the only tech. you have? Had to re-schedule and the next available appointment was 3 weeks out. On May 6th we had an arrival window between 11 am and 2 pm. At 1:30 pm we received a call from the company saying that a job had taken longer than expected, but they were still coming, but it would be closer to 5 pm. At 4:30 pm we received a phone call from the company that yet again that they would not be coming out that day. My wife lost it and let them know in no uncertain terms she was not happy with this and of course we got we're sorry, blah, blah blah. We were re-scheduled once again was told we were a priority but even being a "priority" the next appointment was still another week out. Finally on May 12th, five weeks after our initial phone call, the techs. finally showed up for service. The techs. Bret and Willie saved this company from a one star review. There very personable and professional. Bret even noticed that the pipe and filter from the tank to the drain field needed to be replaced, something that other techs. had not mentioned in the past. While it cost us up front it will save us big bucks in the future by having this pipe and filter replaced when we did. Overall we were pleased with the techs, not so much with the company itself. But since they had the best price on septic system pumping that included digging up the ground to uncover the access ports, which was an extra fee with everyone else we called, and the techs were great, we will probably use them next time and just hope scheduling service is not as bad as it was this time. read more

Horror show. This company is actually called Blue Septic Charlotte. They sold me a 3000 dollar pump, and told me they were unable to electrically connect it. I called a electrician/plumber. When they arrived they saw the old pump (which the tech was adamant about taking) lying on the grass. they removed a wad of tissue in 1 minute) and the old pump worked fine. I called the companies customer support 2 weeks ago, and was told someone would call me back. They didnt. Their new pump is sitting here new in the box, waiting to be picked up and refunded) Chargeback initiated, BBB contacted, consumer protection contacted. See their BBB reviews before calling them. First time using this company to pump our septic tank. Positive- The tech Willie was nice and seemed to know his business. Negatives- They jacked the price up 60% over the quote because the tank was "overly full". I told them when I called that is was full and backing up. I showed the tech water standing in the clean-out and told him it was full. But they do not mention the 60% upcharge until after they dig up the tank, and they will not negotiate the amount, even though in my case the "overage would have been closer to 10%, not 60%. If you call for a quote, add at least 60% over whatever they tell you. Also beware that they do not hand dig the lid, they use an excavator on tracks. In addition to the normal hole I would have to level and sow grass on, I now have to repair 60 foot of ruts in my front yard, and an additional 300 sq ft of damage in my side yard where the tank is. When I complained to the supervisor about this he said, "we work smarter not harder". Do you want someone with that attitude in your yard? read more

I needed to get the septic tank pumped ASAP so called a couple of companies to get quotes. Septic Blue sounded like the the most reasonable, and could do the job the next day. The quote was $225 plus 50 for dispatch. I had the tank dug out and ready to open and pump. Before they started I had to sign several statements which were long and hard to read on a tablet in the sun. I asked what I was signing and he said that I was agreeing to allow him to work. When asked to sign a second time, I asked what that was for he said it was the same thing. I was asked to sign two more times, and was told the same. When the job was done I was billed for $861.99! The added cost was for Crustbuster 264.50, Excessive gallons 135.19, and 4" plastic filter in the septic exit to drainfield 187.35. None of this was explained on the phone or on the job. I will never use Septic Blue again, and next time I call for service I will ask a lot move questions and sit down to read what I am asked to sign. I must say that I am satisfied with the job, but not the excessive charges for each of the added things they did without explaining it beforehand. Unacceptable! read more

I feel that it is my duty to relate to my fellow Union County citizens an encounter I had with a septic tank pumping company named Septic Blue of Indian Trail. I called 3 companies for a quote to pump my tank. Septic Blue had a bid slightly lower than the other two, so I called them to pump my tank for $395. A tech came out Friday, Dec 30, 2022. He uncovered my tank with a backhoe and I watched him raise my tank lid about 6 inches and stop. I told him that he could raise the lid off the tank. The tech stated that he was afraid to raise the lid any higher for fear his machine would tilt over. I almost laughed because I was reasonably sure that his machine could lift 2-3 lids that size, but I didn't make a comment.Leaving the lid open about 6 inches, the tech got off his machine and looked into the tank. From my position, I could not see inside the tank. The tech announced that my tank was caked solid and that he would have to break the contents with a special pressure pump and raise my original quote. In my frustration, I asked how much he would raise the price. He said that my total bill would be $1,050. I told him "no way" and that I would call the lady at Septic Blue to see if we could salvage the deal. The lady said that she let the tech set the final price. I told the tech that I would pay $500. He said he could not lower the price at all, so I told him we were done here and he could load up and go back to Indian Trail. After he left, I called Union Septic Solutions. The company sent two men the next day and, as they uncovered the tank, I told them my experience with Septic Blue. When they raised the lid on its side, one of the workers said, "Look, there is no solid waste anywhere to be seen. This will be a normal job and we will not need to do anything special."
