She was always available, helped us make decisions and was accommodating with any needs we had, we couldn't have done it without her!! The employees that worked our wedding went above and beyond to make it a special day too. The food and drinks were perfection - everything was delicious! And the venue itself is beautiful and fun, with the photo booth bringing it to the next level. I wish I could do it all again!! We are so happy that we went with The Village!!

Many of our 55 guests remarked on the venue, and how stylish it was. We began the evening with cocktails and a jazz trio on The Roof, and then moved into the air conditioning in The House for dinner and dancing with an 11 piece band. Our guests continued to use The Roof when they needed a break from the band. The food was also excellent. Many of our guests remarked on its quality, including some who had their own catering businesses. We found Bridget Ann and Kaelan very easy to work with, and there were no last minute surprises. The staff was friendly and competent. All of our needs were anticipated, the costs were as advertised, and the evening went off without a hitch. We could not be happier with out choice to have our event at The Village with Bridget Ann and Kaelan.

This arboretum popped up, and so we went in search of quiet and nature. It was super easy to find and very convenient in terms of parking/access. We walked through all the gardens and listened to the birds for quite some time, spotting some other wildlife along the way. It was truly a peaceful experience that we hope to repeat.

After doing a little research, I came across The Wheel, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I made a reservation for Sunday brunch. Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first, and parking took a minute to figure out, but I eventually learned you can park for free at the Village next door, which made things much easier. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted and shown to the outdoor seating area. Walking through the restaurant, I was impressed by how beautiful the property is. It is incredibly spacious, sits right on the water, and even has an additional outdoor area next door where you can relax away from the restaurant. The views alone make this place worth visiting. Our server, Freddy, was fantastic. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the menu, answer questions, and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. Now onto the food. To start, we shared the Breakfast Pizza, topped with smoked bacon, crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella, two eggs, and fresh cracked black pepper. It was a fun twist on brunch and had great flavor. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits, made with cheddar grits, wild caught shrimp, a poached egg, and chimichurri. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked outstanding. Made with organic Murray's chicken, hot honey, coleslaw, and dill pickles, it came with fries and disappeared quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, featuring grilled hanger steak, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. The steak had excellent flavor, although I ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. It was my only real issue with the meal. We also tried a couple of cocktails. The Orange Crush was refreshing and perfect for brunch, while the bourbon, Aperol, peach, Earl Grey, and lemon cocktail was smooth, balanced, and equally enjoyable. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Take 5 Sundae with peanut butter crunch, pretzels, whipped cream, vanilla bean caramel, chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge was absolutely delicious. We also had the Tres Leches, topped with strawberries and vanilla whipped cream, which was light, moist, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. Aside from the slightly confusing entrance, parking, and my overcooked steak, the entire experience was outstanding. The waterfront setting, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and quality food make this one of the best brunch spots in Stamford. I will definitely be back. Next time I already have my eye on the Banana Buttermilk Bread, Village Breakfast, Braised Short Rib Hash, Wheel House Burger, Margherita Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for myself. Favorite dish selections per voting of the table, were the brussel sprouts (~$20), calamari (~$20), and NY strip (~$50) specifically because of the tallow fried rice that laid underneath the steak! Although we enjoyed the quality and quantity of food, the service was quite slow. Our waitstaff didn't come by very often to take drink orders, refill water glasses, or follow up. It didn't seem too busy that evening, so we were a bit surprised. We stayed in the dining room on this trip, but hope to come back for a nice evening when the outside patio area is available.

During the planning process, our coordinators maintained transparent communication with us and were extremely responsive to our ongoing questions, concerns, and changes. They helped organize with our other vendors (DJ, photographer, etc.), and provided meaningful advice and guidelines every step of the way - from selecting our menu to choosing venue décor and even providing advice as to how to word our invitations. On the day of our wedding, those same coordinators ensured that the event proceeded smoothly, monitoring the timeline, flow, and jumping in where needed. For example: when we arrived home from the ceremony, we were immediately met by Nikki's staff who had specifically prepared appetizers and drinks for the wedding party to enjoy (and to replenish!) before making our big introduction to the rest of the wedding guests. Many of our guests raved about the food being among the best they have had at a wedding. This is by far where Nikki Glekas Events stands head and shoulders above other event planners / caterers - her food is simply excellent. I tried to work with them to use pipe and drape to cover some of the more industrial looking parts and they wouldn't. The options to play around with furniture and tables they had for cocktail hour was a big sell for me, and the furniture ended up looking kind of cheap and beaten up. The biggest issue is we had string lights for the reception, which the venue essentially made us get because they said they did not have enough lighting. The lights were installed by an outside vendor and the venue could not figure out how to dim them, even though the company showed the staff at the venue how to, really making the entire vibe of the night bad. The food is pretty good and they give you a lot in the package, but not enough of a reason to choose this as a wedding venue. Probably better suited for corporate events or bar mitzvahs.

This is a family friendly spot with the farm, and a private kids party was being hosted indoors at the farm. This is also a great hiking spot with an accessible boardwalk river trail, and some blazed trails throughout. Signage said to beware of bees in summer, but our autumnal-feeling day was fine of course. Modern sculptures were found throughout the campus, with plenty of parking at the house and farm sides each. The planetarium is now in a fresh built shingled space, but alas was not open our December day. Despite this we still had a great visit. Alas, even if you have AAA, museum reciprocal membership, or other usual discounts, there do not appear to be visit discounts here, but if you're local you may as well become a regular and join this unique space.

The estate is beautifully maintained with several rooms that accommodate 160 people. They have beautiful walking trails connected to the property in addition to a swimming pool and tennis courts. The history of the Waveny House is also really fun and impressive. It was built in 1912 and was owned by the Lloyd family. The town of New Canaan became owners of the property in the 1960's and turned it into a public park. I couldn't recommend this more as a venue option or event option. In general, it's a great location for a family outing for a picnic or for outdoor workouts.
