I recently had the pleasure of dining at Serena Pastifico, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning, with a beautifully designed interior that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, enjoying the ambience as much as the food. Our server was particularly impressive, showing great knowledge of the menu and offering insightful recommendations that enhanced our meal. It was also nice to see the manager making the rounds, stopping by our table a couple of times to ensure everything was to our liking--this attention to detail really added to the overall experience. As for the food, it was good overall, with a variety of flavors and dishes to choose from. However, I have to mention that the calamari was my least favorite dish. Beautiful decor, we had a party of 11 for their Easter Buffet Brunch ... some dishes were delicious but some were just ok. Two main stations, the highlights for me were the sautéed mushrooms, lemon ricotta French toast, chicken and waffles, eggs frittata, penne bolognese, prime rib, Italian salad, gamberi in a light vinaigrette, panna cotta and tiramisu!! Cons were that I had to call the restaurant to book a larger party and I could never get anyone to answer. I left a message and it took a week for someone to call me back. I think the food location could flow a bit better...danishes and breads were on one side, while eggs were across the way on the other side of the restaurant. The penne Bolognese needed some extra sauce on the side as it was a bit dry in the chaffing dish. My least favorites were the chicken piccata which did not appear to have any sauce no capers at all, over limp gummy angel hair pasta They did not offer any horseradish cream for the prime rib, I asked one of the servers if he'd check with the bar as they usually have it for Bloody Marys ...he never bothered to come back. My husband has to get up and returned with some horseradish for the table. The prime rib was not a great cut cooked more to a medium even in the middle, and a tad chewy. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and selection...I hope they can improve on some of the issues, it would totally elevate our experience. read more

Stopped in for happy hour at Serena Pastificio before our movie at the IPIC theater. It was kind of early in the day so the place was pretty empty. Bartender on duty, Nicholas was a delight. Great mixologist and conversationalist. Chatted away about the movie as he made my perfect martini. Best thing about their happy hour? You're able to take your drinks with you to the theater. I visited Serena Pastificio on a Saturday evening with some friends before catching a movie at the Ipic upstairs. While we didn't dine, the bar experience was excellent. We asked the friendly bartender to surprise us with a drink, and he crafted a unique Old Fashion with honey and lemon flavors, smooth, flavorful, and very easy to sip. The atmosphere was cozy and laid back, with dim lighting and quiet vibe that made for a perfect date night, or pre movie stop. The food was amazing & everyone enjoyed and raved about their entrees. The pasta was fresh, and the octopus appetizer was perfectly cooked. We appreciated that the restaurant wasn't too loud for conversation amongst us. The ONLY hiccup was that a fire alarm went off during dinner but that was because of the businesses adjacent to the restaurant. My girlfriends and I wanted to find a place for pasta (ideally) in Mizner Plaza (ideally) and had not made plans for this busy holiday weekend and night before Valentine's day. On OpenTable the only place that had availability was Serena Pastificio and it had solid ratings on Yelp (4s) so we thought we'd give it a try (plus free parking at Mizner and we wanted to walk around the plaza) We were so happy we chose Serena Pastificio! We were seated in a cozy booth (four of us) and our waiter Kamilo was beyond awesome - such a great personality, appropriate level of service and attentiveness without being obtrusive, and we appreciated his recommendations on the menu. The other young man who was a runner but we didn't catch his name was also delightful. Now onto the food: Fried calamari and artichokes - 5/5, came also with some pieces of hot peppers, just the right ratio of calamari to other items. The olive oil and something else in it dip was good, i personally prefer a spicy aioli but the fried calamari stood on its own merit. Short rib pappardelle pasta - 5*/5, Kamilo heartily recommended it and I love pappardelle and in this case homemade pasta and it was outstanding. I managed to eat all of mine but my dinner companions who also ordered it had leftovers the next day and I was quite jealous! Broccolini - 5/5, solid side dish Panna cotta - 5/5, I do not prefer panna cotta but my table mates finished it off in a few seconds I don't know why this place doesn't get higher ratings and why it was relatively empty when we went. Spent over $700 for pasta, meat balls, stale French toast, salad, fruit and a display of desserts that looked like they came from a Costco package. Last time at Happy hour the service was awful -- they messed up all the prices, and I had to prove it so they wouldn't charge me several times more. The host can ignore you while you're waiting, and now it feels like customers just aren't important to them. We have now found a new go to spot! Dazzling Dining rooom, fast friendly service, conveniently located by the parking garage connected to the Imax. This place is located In Mizner Park by the Imax but is on the corner of federal so people don't see it while in Mizner. The ambiance is amazing, the food is excellent, The Fettuccine Bolognese is one of the best pasta dishes I found in South Florida and of course they use Reggiano Parmigiana which is usually a sign that the food will be good when dining Italian. The salad was delicious as was the Octopus. They have a very nice bar, good wine list, specialty cocktails, after dinner drinks and of course homemade desserts. We will definitely be back! read more

The Restaurant is located in Mizner. So, there are several garages hidden behind the buildings. The salad was amazing, and the fresh fish was a treat. The gnocchi was very peppery, but it melted in the mouth. If it had a reduction of mushroom sauce, and less pepper it would have been nice. The grilled octopus was presented beautifully and was great. The salmon was cooked to perfection but the lentils was boiled without any taste. Ravioli Di Falso Magro- Spinach, Ricotta and Fresh Herb Filling topped with Lump Crack (YUM!) Brown Butter (Another YUM), Parmesan and Almond Picada- share this, a must order. Fettuccine Alla Bolognese- If a restaurant can do this well, they can do any Italian dish well- also share this, it is filling and a must try. Salmon- Cooked to my personal perfection which is medium on the inside, crispy on the outside. All food accompanied by a glass (or two) of Joe Wagner Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley worked well with the meal. Since we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, this evening was already special--and Serena made it even more meaningful. The place is at Mizner park by the Epik movie theater Free garage parking next to the restaurant o with the direct passage to the entrance Receiving area is beautiful with woodcraft work and wine display, dining area is ornated with a beautiful crystal chandelier made of thousands glass leaves. The bar area is inviting for a great conversation. We ordered Insalata Italiana, Pulpetta, Fettuccine Bolognese and Octopus, everything mas delicious and enjoyed to the last bite. Flavors balanced and pasta delicate and cooked right. Octopus portion found a little small than expected by the pictures but, the flavor on this plate was fenomenal. We did not try the wine this time but noticed the wine list being long enough to provide a few pleasant surprises. I owe to try the dessert menu (I really enjoyed my dinner that did not have space for dessert) and is my excuse to come back again soon Hope you get to enjoy this place and their food as much as we did. Cons the food is just ok. We got some appetizers the meatballs were good. I heard great things about the bucatini carbonara one of the main reasons we went there... and honestly it was just ok. Rather than being creamy the sauce was kind of grainy, it didn't have the indulgent flavor of a carbonara. Not bad, just fine. The other dishes we ordered were better and more indulgent hence me saying it was ok. The menu is small and they do kind of bother you to confirm which is annoying (they called 2x an hour before our reservation). Overall this place is right in the middle. I don't plan to come back, but it's not a bad choice for a date or a girls night as it is a bit of a vibe. read more

From start to finish, we were tempted, then enthralled by the flavors and execution of each dish. Dining with friends, we decided to try the entire menu (well, almost the entire menu), family-style so we can get a real experience of everything they have to offer. With each component being made in-house, you are truly able to appreciate the composition of each dish. The pastas were flawless and flavorful with the sauces perfectly balanced. The employees are great and it is hard to find a nicer and friendlier staff. Seating is comfortable and prices are fair. But.... after several visits it seems like the kitchen is not getting it together because I have had a few good items - then only to go back and be disappointed with the same dishes. On one visit a Chicken Cacciatore was flawless and then the next time it was dry and flavorless. The new items I have tried have also disappointed with a few being terrible and poorly prepared and really the menu isn't that large and when I was last there the restaurant wasn't busy. A Pesto (Trenette Al Pesto) was an overcooked mushy mess. Another pasta dish also was not very good, however a basic pasta with Pomodoro sauce was fine. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner ad said there was ham, no ham was served, or at least when I went up to the buffet and my companions secondly, they had shrimp but no cocktail sauce ask the waiter for cocktail sauce.
