As you pull into the Publix anchored plaza, you could be just about anywhere in South Florida. We found the location and parked. As we approached the hidden entrance tucked under a portico, I noticed it was right next to a Jersey Mikes entrance which gave me pause for a second. We had a reservation and were greeted by an extremely pleasant woman who turned out to be our waitress as well. The interior is tight, only about 7-8 tables, a bar and a small kitchen. After speaking with our lovely waitress, we ordered and the food was delivered in courses which was nice for a change. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and delicious. It turns out the single person in the kitchen is the owner. He hand prepares every dish and accompaniment. Great food, great service and the staff were all very pleasant. This was next level seafood. My wife and I love seafood and have only found a few places that you can get fresh quality seafood. Boca Fish House was next level seafood. Before I talk about the food I want to say that the young lady that was the bartender and server was so friendly and gave great suggestions. The restaurant is small, however it is beautiful inside and does offer outdoor seating as well. Now for the food. They bring out fresh hot rolls with a small plate of cheese pesto and balsamic drizzle. Outstanding!!!!! We came to find out the owner who is the chef, his wife is a pastry chef and makes the bread and desserts. To start we had the Spanish chargrilled octopus. I know I have said this before about other restaurants, but I can truly say hands-down. This was the freshest, most tender, and one of the most flavorful grilled octopus that we have had. It came with a mixture of capers, potatoes, and vegetables in an amazing sauce. Truly fantastic. For dinner, my wife had the blackened yellowtail snapper in curry sauce, and I had the shellfish pan roast. Both were one of a kind dishes. We have never had such great flavor and seafood. Not to mention the amount of food that they put out and the presentation is worthy of awards. My wife's blacked snapper was cooked perfectly had a light blackened coating, and the curry sauce was tremendous. My shellfish were super fresh. Again cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful. The sauce they were in was amazing. For dessert, we tried their homemade Keylime pie, and this too was top-notch and made fresh. We are planning our next trip to this restaurant and if you actually want a true fine, dining seafood experience you have to try this spot. I'm going to say it is priced accordingly for the true quality of food, the amount you are served and the presentation. Omg this food was truly amazing! The seafood was so fresh and the marriage of flavors in the blackened snapper dish was amazing. It had a beautiful coconut curry sauce which really complimented the fish. Our service was also really great. Our servers were very kind and made great recommendations. Well, finally, we have arrived - Boca Fish House delivers on some of the best seafood in the business. Truly, it was an outstanding culinary experience. The bread was incredible: Freshly baked and served with an oil-vinegar-parmesan cheese dip. The Lobster bisque was solid, though not exceptional. All of the fish was excellent, in particular my grouper, served with Swiss chard and corn salsa - all the textures were distinct and stood out. Service was cordial and attentive throughout the meal. The only disappointment was the ambiance. We sat outdoors and were distracted by music and nearby competing venues, giving a dining experience that felt disjointed with the high-quality service we enjoyed. Wow, really just WOW!!! We had an amazing meal at this small, lovely and unassuming restaurant. The food was fresh, creative, and flavorful. This was our first time trying Boca Fish House. It's located in a strip mall and it was a great find. The dining room is small with a few seats at the bar. We had a 8pm reservation but arrived early and chose to dine at the bar. They also have a few tables outside near the entrance of the main dining room. It was extremely busy but the staff were efficient and attentive. Let me say the seafood is amazing here! I can see why they're so busy. I was on a date with my guy and our entrees were both delicious! The sweet potato crusted grouper was just incredible! Loved the flavors and how well the dish prepared. The shellfish pan roast was art on a plate! It had Lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels swimming in a tasty brandy infused tarragon tomato sauce. All the seafood was cooked to perfection and the creamy sauce made this dish really stand out. Although the restaurant lacks ambience it makes up for it with their incredibly fresh seafood! Very good food. We shared steamed mussels in a white wine sauce, crudo with passion fruit sauce, and grilled octopus. All were seasoned and cooked well and very nicely balanced with sweet and salt with textures! Ordered the sautéed Chilean Sea Bass Potato Gnocchi, wild mushrooms, baby spinach, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, fresh herbs, white wine lemon butter and my boyfriend ordered the Pan Seared Giant Sea Scallops, roasted root vegetables, crispy Brussels sprouts, sweet potato puree Florida citrus butter. The sea bass was so amazing, it was one of the best meals I ever had and paired great with the Sauvignon blanc that the server, Jen, suggested. We ate here again with another couple. Same set up as before, reservations for outside at 5pm. Located in a strip mall, outside covered space shared with a Jersey Mike's and Japanese Sushi restaurant. The fact that this restaurant didn't have every table taken filled when they opened suggests to me that people just don't know how good the food is at this place. For every Snowbird and visitor to this area, this is a must go to place for all of you. The food here is just simply the best. The chef here is gem and a master of flavor. I ordered the Seafood Pan Roast and have to say every piece of fish was a just fantastic. The sauce that accompanied the dish was 100% drinkable and the crispy bed of pasta upon which it was all served was clever and delicious. I would suggest having at hand a piece of their delicious bread to sop up every bit of sauce. I also have to call out the creme brulee as one of the best versions of that dish anywhere. Last night my husband & I took my in-laws to Boca Fish House to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. First of all, the meal, beginning with the hot rolls to our entrees, were delicious! Secondly, the servers were lovely. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with two desserts adorned with candles for my in-laws special event. We were impressed & will definitely return next time we are in the area. The amazing thing is that I only mentioned my in-laws wedding anniversary in passing, as I made the reservation. Chef/owner Daniel Cournoyer is doing a remarkable job at his very popular spot. This is probably my 5th visit since I discovered BFH a little over a year ago, and each time the small, intimate space has been filled with happy patrons. No surprise, the chef continues to wow us with his excellent cuisine. Here you can count on the freshest top-quality fish, cooked perfectly and with imagination. Each dish always seems to have an element that takes it to another level. Chef Cournoyer is doing all the cooking... and it's so intimate, you feel a connection to the kitchen. Tonight, I chose my favorite...Crispy Romaine with Granny Smith Apple Hearts of palm, crumbled blue cheese, pancetta, candied walnuts, white balsamic vinaigrette. Great combination of flavors, really a light dish. Others enjoyed their excellent Caesars. Don't overlook the warm rolls they bring out with their special dip... so good and perfect along with the salads. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with roasted corn salsa, grape tomatoes, baby arugula, garlic-cilantro- chili aioli is a real winner. My entre tonight was fantastic. Jumbo Lump Crab Stuffed Giant Shrimp, sweet pea risotto, white wine lemon butter. Loved it! Tuna Steak, crispy fried rice cake, stir fried vegetables, garlic chili aioli, tomato salsa was also a winner. Crème Brule and Key Lime rounded out another great meal here. Had dinner the other night. Me and my partner both had Chilean Seabass with gnocchi. Seabass was absolutely amazing. The gnocchi was gummy, not soft and pillowy, big disappointment. My partner who 99.9% of the time always finishes the meal did not because of the gnocchi. I took the fish home because I couldn't finish. Service was excellent. I called the restaurant and I wanted a call back from the owner/Chef and Amy said she would let the Chef know. I asked her do you have my name and phone number and she said no, so how can the Chef call me back to discuss? Very poor customer service. read more

An absolute gem! Great menu options. Friendly welcome. Warm rolls to start with a special dip. The food is outstanding--every dish is packed with flavor. The crab cakes are perfectly crisp and delicious, and the grilled octopus is unbelievably tasty. The scallops were large, perfectly Cooked and so tasty. Hidden gem with delicious food and good staff! Really enjoyed our dinner in this quaint little restaurant right next to Town Center Mall. The ambiance on a Sunday evening was calm and we were one of three dining parties at 6 PM. We didn't have a reservation but I would recommend making one on the weekends or if you have a party of 4 or more. Seating is limited, though there are tables outside. I studied the menu ahead of time and was really excited to try the dishes here. We started with nice fresh hot bread with a parmesan cheese pesto oil dip. It was so good!! Unfortunately, when we ordered, the one dish my mom wanted was the Chilean sea bass and they were out of sea bass and wouldn't substitute the fish with that specific cooking style. However, her sweet potato crusted grouper was absolutely delicious with the crispy top and the tender fish, it complimented texture and taste perfectly. My pan seared sea scallops were big, juicy and amazing. The sweet potato hash it came with was savory and sweet. The added spinach and corn was great too. I'm not a big beets person but the beet carpaccio was refreshing and light. With the slight bitterness of the arugula and the rich creaminess of the goat cheese, the dish was perfect. I have always liked Boca Fish House. First complaint , only way to make a reservation is to call after 5, no open table, no resy. They always had great service and food. I went twice on this trip. They are too tight to turn A/C down so it's uncomfortably warm. Their best server, Aimee, is no longer there. Second trip was yesterday, the server kept telling us what time we would need to leave. Portions are much smaller these days. I'm not even finished with my wine and server drops off a bill. We wanted cappuccino and dessert. She kept looking at the clock and giving us a dirty look. It was rude. There were empty tables!! It once was a quaint small family owned fish spot but now it has gone down hill, poor service, small portions, very pricey. Well that could be applied to the Boca Fish House for while it's not much to look at, squeezed into a strip mall by a Publix and a sandwich place, what it puts out in terms of delicious food is certainly a 10+! We met some friends here for dinner the other night and I must say, it impressed on every level. It's small, really small, so we opted to sit outside which is basically out front in the shopping center. Make a reservation or you might not get in and that would be a huge miss on your part. We were greeted by our server who explained to us that the chef used to work at the Blue Moon Fish company until he and his wife decided to open this place. They do serve wine by the bottle and glass so that was a nice surprise as well. We started with the apple and romaine salad which also had hearts of palm, bleu cheese and walnuts. It was very good. We also tried the lobster bisque, crab cakes and clam appetizer. All were very tasty. For our entrees we tried a range of the menu with the sea bass, snapper sesame tuna and swordfish. All were delicious and worth a re visit. Parking is free in the huge Publix lot. Sometimes the best food comes in the least expected places and the Boca Fish House certainly delivers on that. read more

Went by for lunch, as they hadn't had any available tables the two evenings I thought about just popping in. If you ate at the previous restaurant in that location, the decor is essentially the same I believe although I believe the shore wall decorative items are new. I do not remember if the wall mural is new. Either way, though the interior is not large, it is comfortable. Our waitress was a friendly host and provided a good experience. I started with the gumbo, which while not in the top five I have had (which all five were in or around NOLA), it was quite serviceable for this area. There was plenty of lump crabmeat, a good amount of popcorn shrimp, and what I believe was diced ham. It didn't seem to be diced andouille as I didn't pick up any discernible smokiness. Regardless, I would order it again. My fish and chips wasn't a traditional British version, but was pretty decent. The slaw and salad were both good. The complete Fish and Chips entree worked well together though and I would certainly consider ordering it again, although not without sampling a different menu item first. My wife had the Crabcake Chopped Salad. The crabcake was good sized, full of lump crabmeat, and had a nice flavor profile. As you might expect the lunch menu has considerably less options compared to the full dinner menu, but there are other proteins available for lunch. Definitely worth a visit, and you most likely will enjoy your meal. It's not cheap, but who really wants cheap seafood? We met another couple here for dinner last night, and had a reservation. We were seated outside and, unfortunately, it was raining quite hard. The rain was actually splashing all of us but there was no where else to sit. It turns out that the outdoor ceiling in the plaza had some holes. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and gave thoughtful advice for ordering. My wife and I shared the mussels for an appetizer, and enjoyed it thoroughly! The sauce was so delicious that I drank some with a spoon (to my wife's dismay). For my entree, I had the pan seared sea scallops. While the scallops themselves were cooked to perfection, I was slightly disappointed by the mango (glaze I think?) and other aspects of the dish. It lacked flavor, and I wasn't a huge fan of the cabbage. My wife had the blackened yellowtail snapper that came with coconut rice. Neither of us particularly enjoyed it, and the fish was a touch dry. The sauce was very tasty though! For dessert we had the key lime pie. It was tasty! I give the pie itself 4/5 stars. It was a bit firm, and hard to scoop bites from, and slightly less tart than I prefer, but otherwise it was thoroughly delicious! We met friends for dinner here. The restaurant is small. It's located between the Publix and Jersey Mike's. We were familiar with the location as we used to come here when it was a French restaurant. The current owners have done a lovely job of redoing the interior. They've opened up the space by adding a viewable kitchen and a bar/counter. It's comfortable yet welcoming -- just like the staff made us feel. My husband and I started by sharing a salad of romaine with apples, hearts of palm, blue cheese, and candied walnuts. It was a good choice. Our friends had their steamed mussels (with a broth that cried out for more bread to be dipped in it!) and a creamy lobster bisque. For entrees, each couple got the shellfish pan roast and shared. The dish included a Florida lobster tail, mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp in a yummy tomato tarragon cream sauce. There was also an angel hair pasta crispy "cake" that was a nice bit of carbs to soak up some sauce. Double yum. And for dessert, we chose the white chocolate banana mousse. This was a sweet yet light confection. I really loved everything we had. It would be hard not to get the pan roast again although the crusted grouper or the shrimp and clam tagliatelle could be good choices, if he doesn't want to share. Huge Flavor, Service, Ambiance packed into this small but welcoming spot! My wife and I used to come here when it was a French restaurant. Boca Fish House has opened up the interior, added a bar and a visible kitchen. Seating is limited inside but you are not crowded. They do offer outside seating as well. Reservations are strongly recommended. The salad options and appetizers are intriguing as well as delicious and large enough to share if you desire. Entrees are also inviting and we had the Roast pan of mixed seafood which was delicious and the sauce was wonderful. (Made even better by their fresh baked breads). The kitchen was kept busy and did a fantastic job in turning out meals for all of the happy diners! We had a Banana White Chocolate Mousse that was over the top wonderful!
